Honestly, of all the features Pokemon has I feel Shinies are one of the most pointless and should probably be scrapped in favour of something more interesting.

Unironically they should just add equal distributions of different colour-patterns of 'mons through the game. Or have a rare item that you can find/buy to change the colour of the chosen 'mon. As it stands it's just the colour equivalent of "Proud of its Power" and cutting it would probably filter a lot of autists from the playerbase.

How would shills defend the removal of shinies?
Rare variants are an outdated concept in RPGs. Everyone should have easy access to the same things.

I don't agree with cutting shinies entirely, but there should be more color variations.
Kinda of like the anime having different-colored Passimian for each island in Alola.

All shinies should be notoriously different from the original variation, things like Garchomp or Ceruledge are unacceptable
I think there should be a lot more default color variation similar to what they've done for sizes. Smaller changes in overall gradient or accent colors would be great. Something like Gengar could range from deep purple to lighter shade, with its current shiny pallet being folded into that gradient. Then its actual shiny form should be a drastic change like
That would certainly be a good way of adding variety and making different pokemon of the same species feel more distinct, compared to mechanical things like IVs, EVs, and Natures.

Basically this. Having multiple aesthetic variants of the same 'mon with different levels of scarcity would be nice, though granted with what a shitshow Gen 9 turned out to be I'm not sure if GF would be up to the task of implementing such a feature without leaving the game completely unplayable.

Gengar used to be a pretty nice shiny, the 3D model completely fricked it up though.
Shiny Gengar should be white like the Mega and Gigantamax.

It's because 3D models completely washed out the colors.
Pokken Gengar for example is way, way more purple/violet than gen 6-9 gengar, like the older ones.

I wouldn't mind or care. I never do shiny hunting, it's pure autism to do so. I've only gotten two or three shinies playing for decades, but I don't even have them anymore because I just don't value them like that. My rule for what to actually be bothered by is if I would even notice it's gone if someone hadn't told me. I wouldn't have even noticed the battle frontier was missing in ORAS if someone hadn't said so, because I never do those, so I wouldn't be upset. And I wouldn't notice shinies are gone either, so no reason to get upset.
They're supposed to be a "oh neat" feature, not something that you're supposed to waste your life on. So I disagree on them being a bad feature, but I do agree that it'd be more interesting to have more variants of a pokémon, but at this point that's never happening. GF already regrets sexual dimorphism.
I hate that ever since XY Gengar has had those ugly washed out pink eyes. They're supposed to be a deep red. At least they got it right in Arceus but of course they went back on that in SV.
From the QOL that have happened each generation I really expected SV to include a "change color to shiny" item but it didn't. Maybe DLC will include something like a "Graffai spray" that will change colors. Many shiny hunters hunted for the challenge or utter autism toward a species but I'm sure many other players would be thankful to have such an item

Why would I want to "work" towards getting a very slight palette swap? My point isn't "make Shinies easier to get" my point is "replace Shinies with something more interesting". Like, if you had three "normal" palettes available and one drastically different design with actual, physical differences from the basic form that was harder to find? Sure, why not. As is though it's just a leftover from the Gameboy days when that was the most variation they could feasibly add for a "rare version".

pick new colors. there's no palette swapping excuse now, there's no reason the shitty shinies (garchomp, gengar) should still exist. make new shinies or fix the shitty ones
