That they don't entirely break the game for a Black person support shirt like they did in 2021. Honestly it's just going to be 2 with qol and new mobs but it took them 4 years to add fricking fov options to the second one and I know the ass kissing bandwagon will jump on it as soon as it releases, give shitty feed back because they're garbage at baby games and ruin it for those of us that aren't mentally moronic

Idk State of Decay 2 was more or less everything I wanted in a zombie game. I'm hoping for less limitations on base building, more random events (survivor, zombies, supplies, traders, etc.) and more survivor communities (SOD2 maps would always be limited to only 3 or 4 other survivor communities)

they've put out a lot of updates since then, it's pretty good now. I've been binging the frick out of it on gamepass, might get it on steam once it goes on sale

I think I bought and refunded it twice, I picked it up again on sale because it was 10bucks and this time I actually went a little further, the game opens up a lot once you move out from your original base so I enjoyed it that time. It's much longer to pick up the pace than the first one, it also doesn't help that all the starting survivors felt very unlikeable and weak to me whereas Marcus and Ed have much more modest attitudes and are very strong once you level them up.

I think there was an article a while back on the studio saying project management is fricked but I could be remembering it wrong.
Regardless I'd be happy if it's SoD 2 with more content and better base building but I would personally like to see some things from SoD1 come back. I sort of miss the more granular survivor specialization like choosing between various types of kicks, counters, and weapon spec (blunt/edge/heavy or any type of firearm). It was probably needlessly complicated to the average gaymer but to me in a game where you're building up your survivors having more options to make them unique is always a good thing, even if it's not minmaxxing autism. On that note more combat moves too, the sequel had way less.

What will probably happen is dumbed down features, even less options to specialize your survivors and probably a sprinkle of woke shit in your face (I can't believe I actually had to mod the starting survivors in 2). I hope that they at least fix the godawful UI that's even less intuitive than SoD1, and if you're making a black woman as the head of the promo materials at least make black women cute, all the options in State of Decay 2 are ugly goblins.

      >I think there was an article a while back on the studio saying project management is fricked but I could be remembering it wrong.

Same story everywhere, the studio ballooned up to an unrecognizable size and all the modern first world problems started popping up. The game might be good, but it's better if you expect it's going to be shit.

lmao they really are a religious cult that thinks that worshiping Black folk will lead to some kind of paradise. I can't take people like this seriously.

makes sense that the first game was great, second was meh and that the next one will probably be ocean wide and finger deep. The browner and more female a studio gets, the worse the games get. go figure

More freedom when it come to building your base, other than I don't know state of decay 2 pretty much removed everything I hated in 1.

I'm too lazy to write stuff again so I'll just copy one of my older posts.

    a) I think 3 first of all needs a much better AI system, I want to see npcs roam around the map, race for materials against a rival base, zombies should be reduced in numbers but increased in their strenght (when I screw up searching a place I want the incomming 3-4 zombies to be meaningful, but the game just throws a gazillion zeds, two ferals and maybe a juggernaut if you are unlucky, they could try the Zombieland 2 approach that not all regular humanoid zombies are equal on top of the special infected).
    b) Building a base is actually fun but why are you the only one who physically leaves the base? Sure you change characters and can take another guy with you, but other than that they just sit there all day and sometimes a notification comes up saying that they found something, I want to send them on their own missions or something. Also more building options(styles)/interactions (watching a movies actually makes the characters sit there in the lounge) would be cool.
    c) The radio, seriously why does EVERYONE have a fricking walkie-talkie? It needs to be a precious resource but even the most basic guy can call you up that they need help in finding their baseball bat.
    d) Skills, they are fine in 2 I guess but it needs more variety. Maybe two slots for community/quirk skills? Persuasion skills so that not everyone is the exact same in speaking with other survivors?
    e) A refined and adaptive morale system, if a character doesn't usually kill other people he should be devastated when he kills someone.
    f) More personal goals, both big and small
    g) More customization on the starting members, newcommers being randomized are fine.
    h) AIRDROPS!! Occasionaly supply crates that is a race, like in Dying Light.
    i) More weapons, add regular bows?
    j) Stealth skills are viable against other survivors?

I don't know if you've played it but some of those points were actually present in SoD 1, for example you could call a scavenger to loot a house for you and one of your survivors would physically leave the base. All the infestation/freak missions were also given by members of your community and you'd meet them outside the base to do it. However a lot of people complained about the busywork and the fact that your survivors could die without it being your fault which is probably why they removed it.
As for more variety in skills, State of Decay 2 was heavily dumbed down in that regard, you could really specialize your character in 1 and unlock a lot of special moves.

Yea I played SoD1 a lot but that was a while ago.
        >you could call a scavenger to loot a house for you and one of your survivors would physically leave the base
        >infestation/freak missions were also given by members of your community and you'd meet them outside
Oh yea now that you mention it I remember these! Still, I'd prefer id they'd just go around on their own too.
        >people complained about the busywork and the fact that your survivors could die without it being your fault
While I get the reasons, I think it could overall add to the experience. I'm talking about a sort of personality system where some characters may be wienery enough to attempt these things whereas some characters might not even come with you around.
Oh they could maybe also add something that works like the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor/War for some random (but rare) survivor bases.
Now that I think about it, it might also be great for friendly survivors with some having a very rare skill that they could sort of save you from tough situations like luring a bunch of zombies away when you are cornered.

      These are some good suggestions.

In 1, you could radio your base to send people to bring back supplies. That should be in 3. So should your survivors needing rescuing or backup when they go off on their own.

Bring back barricading windows. I'd like hostile enclaves to mean more. Or not even hostile, just competing for resources that aren't just that one enclave calling you up being greedy Black folk for supplies or those starving frickers.

From the looks of things there will be weather. Hopefully it's not just the usual 2 minutes in the cold and hypothermia sets in.

I liked 2 despite the giga-pozzing they did and hoped there would be a bigger focus on urban environments in 3.
So far the trailers are all muh innawoods crossbow fetishism even though the first two games are exactly that.
