But if you're looking for a "what are some interesting breeding behaviors" answer, I'm going to go with Iroquois style systemic kidnapping and rape while torturing enemy tribes for days in the most savage ways available. I don't like being edgy fir the sake of edgy but if humans did it then I don't see why a toned down version can't be attributed to a fictional race of ugly savage monsters

Orcs in my setting are based on mandrakes. They’re basically angry potatoes. When a Orc dies they cut his body up and burry it. About two years later orc children dig their way out. They’re always “born” with a body that’s 12-15 in terms of age with equivalent life experience (well not life experience per se more just a set of shared knowledge all orcs have) and some memories from the orc that spawned them. They know how to use weapons well from the start and have a natural desire to kill non orcs. So all orcs start out NE because their creator wanted them that way but alignment shifts with age are normal.

Like I said they’re based on mandrakes and the like. I made them like the whole fasting growing but weak race is a tired cliche so I wanted to do a literal fast growing race that’s ready to fight in 2 years and can be grown from dead bodies. They’re not quite the same as fungus orcs. I also made them like this to screw with a edge lord who wanted a half Orc rape baby and ended up liking the world building that came from it.

The first Orcs were born from the Crucible of Life. In ancient times a union of the Fomorians and the Hags ravaged the Feywild and many Elves fled to a dark forest even the Fomorians avoided. There was imprisoned a Primal God who's crimes were lost to eons. He was amused by their pleas for mercy and protection and saw opportunity and subjected them to the Crucible of Life where they were remade with the teachings of the Pirmal God. Some say he intended to use his new found vassel race to conquer the Feywild but was struck down, possibly by the first Orcs, for reasons no one knows and the people were scattered across the Feywild and the Material world

I like this idea but we can take it further. The first Orcs were slaves created through this, eventually, they revolted against their masters and they make use of the goop to turn populations they conquer into Orcs as well. They also reproduce normally, but the goop and its mutagenic properties allow for whole populations to be assimilated rapidly.

They're what happens when a pig takes a wrong turn and ends up being found between dimensions by unknown horrors. Naturally, this does some very traumatising things to the pig-now-orc, and they're not pleasant creatures when they come back. On the rare occasion that the players will ever get to read the mind of an orc, they'd get a sense that the things that made it think they've made a completely average human. I'm guessing most will just kill it before they can know that.

Orcs are born from rape. As rape is a sinful act, it does not produce humans, but sinful creatures which perpetuate the sin. If a mother is so foolish as to carry the child to term, it rips its way out of the womb and scurries to some dark and hidden place where it will victimize others when it becomes strong enough.

  15. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

    It starts with assrape.
Weak orcs that are raped and beaten within the tribe have their normal orc testosterone shut down, they then undergo a physical change within where their butthole develops into a cloaca that harbours eggs while their muscle diminishes. Such orcs at that point are usually too weak to fight and are used as breeding pits.
Orcs are gifted by the deity of nature with especially potent seed, allowing them to also impregnate most humanoid races, while full-blooded orcs are an all male species, half-orcs can be female, they are usually prized as concubines by orc warlords as fruits of their conquests.

    Okay, so;
    >Take a lump of flint about the size of a fist.
    >Auger a hole in it just wide & deep enough to fit your index finger up to the second knuckle.
    >Fill the hole with the various necessary alchemical reagents.
    >Seal hole. Beeswax, sealing wax or plaster will do.
    >Take a few pounds of pig fat and sand.
    >Mold it around the flint into the likeness of the form you wish the grown orc to bare*.
    >Place the fat sculpture into a Blackiron cauldron**.
    >Add the blood of a human sacrifice***
    >Invoke the ritual words.
    >The blood will rise to fill the cauldron, and a thick skin will form once it reaches the top.
    >At midnight on the night of the next full moon, the orc will emerge****.

*Bare in mind that if you forget to give the orc certain features at this point, it will lack them when grown, i.e. if you give the orc no eyes it will be blind.
**Not to be mistaken for a black iron cauldron, which is a common household item found in any kitchen.
***The more blood you use, the greater the life-force the orc will have. Using one sacrifice for multiple orcs will divide the life-force resulting in weak, short-lived creatures, and vice-versa.
****Canny mages will perform the creation on the day before the night of the full moon, so they have less time to wait until their new servant is ready.

      Anonymous

      Notes on form:
The features of orcs can be fairly basic; a simple hole in the side of the head will suffice for ears, and small balls of the fat / sand mixture will do for eyes. Nostrils are often omitted for the sake of brevity in the sculpting, but it will make the orc more prone to choking on food. if an orc is made without a mouth he will be unable to eat, and soon starve regardless of how much blood was used in its making.
During the sculpting phase it is not uncommon for some mages to give their orcs extra features, i.e. additional arms, however do keep in mind that the further from the human form they deviate, the more bestial, unintelligent, and difficult to control they will be.
It is fairly common to insert metal parts to strengthen these creations, such as metal claws, fangs, and / or armour plates. Obviously this is something of a waste if you're just making large numbers of weak, disposable, cannon-fodder, but may well be worth your time if you invest in a powerful, well-made champion.

      Anonymous

      Notes on behavour:
Orcs have no souls, and therefore no free will. They will unquestioningly, unthinkingly obey any command from their master (as determined by the master being named in the ritual words), even if the order is pointless and / or suicidal. An orc will instantly slit its own throat if so ordered by its master.
They cannot knowingly dis-obey or betray their master, but are usually not very intelligent*, and can often be tricked into doing so by a cunning opponent.
If left to their own devices orcs will seek food and water, avoid immediate danger, and perhaps seek or construct very rudimentary shelter, but will otherwise do nothing.

*An orc's intelligence is determined by the make-up of the reagents in its heart-flint.

      Anonymous

      Notes on procreation:
Most orcs do not have genitals, since most mages wouldn't bother giving them any. Whatever organs of procreation an orc may have will be purely cosmetic as no orc can bare or father children.
Orcs can, however, perform the ritual to create more orcs if ordered to do so by their master, and given access to the necessary materials. This is the only way for orcs to procreate.

If you have a whole bunch of Blackiron cauldrons it really speeds up the process. Orcs can be set to forging those, too.
Even if you only have one cauldron you could use multiple human sacrifices for one orc (which you put a lot of effort into making well, and loaded up with metal reinforcement as described in

Chances are more likely that orcs really were corrupted elves (maybe even corrupted humans later on as well), and likely involved some foul ritual that put malevolent spirits into the broken bodies of people, similar to how Sauron put such spirits into wolves to make werewolves.

A long time ago, elves decided to domesticate the wild goblin into a servant species. This ultimately led to the creation of humans. Elf culture eventually turned away from this practice and embraced a more self-reliant, isolationist philosophy. Leaving humans to fend for themselves in the former elven colonies, eventually becoming a collection of human empires.
When a human leaves the comforts of civilization and faced with the environmental and physiological stresses of survival in the wild, they inevitably turn feral, also known as turning Orc. Their body undergoes a rapid change, thick hair growth, tusks, greater aggression and fecundity, and a ravenous appetite to fuel its new physiology. Once a human becomes an Orc, there is no going back.
Orcs are aggressive, expansive, and destructive. In their relentless search for food to fuel their explosive population, they damage the ecology of any region they pass through, rooting up, hunting down, and otherwise clearing out anything edible they can get their hands on.
Those humans who live in remote or rural communities away from major settlements are often disparaged as Half-Orcs.

Orcs are basically just a magically evolved race of angry giant apes emerging from a southern jungle area that have spread outward into the world.

They're not special, there's nothing specifically evil about them, they're just very troublesome violent hoodlums with a culture obsessing around battle and raiding others for food and goods.
Orcs CAN move on past this, and there's several more urbane clans that have started to culturally prioritize cooperation with other sapients and self sufficiency (Channeling their raiding impulses towards hunting large creatures for their parts), but the general stereotype of them is still a rioting, hooting savage busting in through your window to loot your house and set it on fire while laughing the entire way.

Biologically, they're actually slightly shorter than humans (having a slightly stooped posture), but are much, much thicker/stockier, and have overly large hands giving them the ability to easily handle larger weapons.
Mentally, they also have a biological inclination towards fighting, having their brains setup to administer dopamine in higher amounts (Not that the people of the region understand what dopamine is), making them enjoy battle and shrug off pain easier.

In my setting, orcs are created by ritually sacrificing humans, demihumans and animals in a cavern whose floor has been covered in a thick layer of dirt. The blood of the victims is allowed to soak into the dirt, at which point small nodules begin to form. These grow to roughly man-sized cysts, which are dug up by orcs (or their slaves) and cut open to reveal full grown, adult orcs. These orcs are always male and quite capable of raping and impregnating humans, because orcs are literally a curse on the earth, so naturally, they're horrible mockeries of life. They were created by evil powers just to make life miserable.

They are the tortured twisted souls of traitors and cowards. At least, some of them are: the leaders and brutes, the ones with power and cunning. The rest are bred normally.

Orcs are born from iron, fire and blood. When slaves in undermountain factories are worked to death, their bodies are thrown in as fuel for the forges. The ash and soot is collected and mixed with molten iron, then cast into moulds. It is then thrown into a pool of blood to cool, and left there for months to moulder. Eventually a young orc will crawl out, ready to grow into a new cog in the industrial machine.

There was a huge war between two civilizations a long time ago.
Elves claim it was a war between two elf clans, losers got cursed with ugliness and aversion to magic and became orcs.
Orcs believe the war happened between two orc clans, Losers were cursed with physical weakness, racial divide (since there are a lot of subtypes of elves) and the corruption of "unclean" magic (aka not ancestral shamanism).
The discussion on which version is the correct one are still going on, two kinds are ever warring sometimes due to this.

Some butthole god is sitting in his butthole mountain being angry over the world, molding clay and infusing it with parts of his anger so he'll one day be less angry at the world and actually enjoy it's tremendous bullshit as he continuously self-lobotomizes in solitude. Put too much hatred in a clay-turned-person and it will explode, put too little it doesn't have the will to live and just turns back into clay while he gets angrier.

Problem is all these angry little shits made their home around him because he is the only thing they don't hate, so now they've made their great fortress around him singing praise of him and babbling on and on about the world outside he so desperately tried to avoid seeing until he could free himself from his troubles. So he makes more little clay people faster and with more hate, making sloppier bodies and using too much clay while putting a bit more anger as he tries to counteract the little frickers pissing him off.

So there it is, some fricking dickhead created the world only humanoid disaster. As they wander away from their fellow orcs thinking that they hate them more than they'd hate what's over yonder they get so mad that they start killing and raiding.

It's a pretty shit summary, considering it starts with the Reddit line of "muh grey morality, muh nuture > nature" bullshit. Orcs are orcs because they're evil. Orc babies are vicious little shits that would sooner bite off your finger than let you tickle it. There's no raising an orc to be good.

The problem here is that orcs aren't threatening enough to be the "Really evil shit" type monsters. They're, in normal settings, stat wise just a bunch of violent raider hoodlums, not anywhere near as strong or physically threatening as other mundane threats like trolls or ogres, and aren't inherently intelligent or charismatic enough to function as diabe-girlcal masterminds.
If a magical villain is going to get into "really evil shit", he's going to do something like start raising an undead army, because undead have so many different types that you have both the baseline footsoldiers to replace orcs (skeletons and zombies) and then big level lieutinants and heavy hitters (things like wraiths or vampires), AND have the additional malevolency of desecrating those you defeat into more of your army.

Like in tolkien, orcs weren't anything special in Sauron's army (He had armies of evil men too, and would have had much more of them if the other wizards hadn't been diplomatically preventing sauron from getting other lands in his corner), and they just function as mooks, nothing specially evil about them.

I'm not sure if Tolkien's failed to describe them viscerally enough, but orcs are just about the worst thing that's happened to middle earth.

They are pervasive and tenacious even without a dark lord, and when one arises they explode in numbers. As far as we can tell not a single one of them has anything other than malice and spite in their hearts.
Literally everyone in middle earth knows, fears, or hates orcs.

orcs are described as being smaller and weaker than humans, cowardly, and averse to sunlight. They are inherently inferior to humans in everyway, simply acting as a convenient source of cannon fodder for the evil villains to use.
Its only in pop culture that people think of orcs as being stronger or better fighters than humans, because its harder to comprehend them as being such a threat if they're physically inferior both mentally and physically.

            Anonymous

Orcs are more vicious, cruel, and bloodthirsty than humans.
Orcs never fight fairly, and they never fight alone.
Orcs are cunning and always seeking an opportunity to harm others for their own benefit or for the sheer sadistic joy of it.
Orcs will readily make allies with other evil creatures or unscrupulous men to increase the amount of suffering they can bring into the world.

Orcs raid undefended villages, they ambush travelers and merchants on the road. They destroy bridges and lighthouses, they block mountain passes. They isolate fortified communities by making the highways between them their hunting grounds.

Orcs will ambush your party in the middle of the night with poisoned arrows and darts, disappear before you can respond, wait for the injured to succumb to their wounds, pick off stragglers, then capture the survivors to torture them to death for 'sport' or make them slaves in dark holes never to see sunlight again.

Orcs do not have to be individually capable to be threatening. In a pitched battle a rabble-horde of orcs is not worth much against a formation of trained soldiers. Most orcs hate pitched battles, but that's not going to stop them from finding a way to kill you and burn your house down.

By humans or Half-Orc cannibalizing Demihumans. Before you ask, Half-Orc is either human's blood-brother style consensually adopted as a sibling by a Half-Orc or the product of Orc on human female rape. Before you ask, Yes it's always rape because the evil in the act of rape is needed to corrupt the child conceived and without the corruption, there would be no child born.

The male orc releases spores, letting female orcs that he is ready to copulate. Upon seeing a potential mate, the male orc engages in Mat'Aka, a mating dance consisting on butt-shaking, clapping, stomping and angry yelling, akin to a drunken Haka.
If successful, the female orc will lay on the orceggs and the male orc will fertilize them by unleashing his spunk on the eggs.
The female orc will then put the sticky spunked eggs on her back, where will carry then until the orc babies burst fron her back.
