I don't like MOBA, or the TV show, and I'm not a coomer.
>I don't like MOBA, or the TV show, and I'm not a coomer.
Then why the fuck do you want to get into it?
they're outputting a lot of games
Yeah but why that instead of the other millions of games that exist if you don't care about any of the related content?
I don't know the lore, but I vaguely like the aesthetics.
LoL doesn't have any lore. The original game is literally considered non-canon and every piece of content is its own disconnected AU. League of Legends is complete dog shit in every conceivable way, go play or follow literally anything else
It does have lore in the form of short stories, just no real story outside of Arcane.
While I think the MOBA isn’t peak, at least it’s not DOTA.
Dota is objectively better in literally every way, debate me
dota sucks. get over it already
>no argument
So you admit dota is objectively the better game?
dont need an argument for how shitty dota is. the game itself is enough
I accept your concession.
Complexity is not the same thing as fun. Most complexity in DOTA is redundant and existed implicitly without it. There is infinite complexity in the bread and butter moba format. Most people play casual and do not care for competitive, so it is important to focus resources on casual. Valve’s art team sucks and doesn’t try to create likeable characters (they tried to make comer bait for DOTA 2 and failed horribly)
DOTA didn’t deserve someone like Laidlaw writing for it tbh
Dota isn't better because of complexity.
>Most complexity in DOTA is redundant and existed implicitly without it.
Wrong. This would kind of be an argument before they did things like streamlining damage types, but even back then it was a very low level thing in comparison to the grand scheme of the game's design.
>There is infinite complexity in the bread and butter moba format.
There really isn't when you force a mirrored lane meta like LoL does. The actual variety and viability of everything since things aren't designed for cookie cutter roles is what makes dota a better game.
I’m finding out new strategy in LoL all the time. It lacking complexity is not a real problem that exists.
I tend to find that DOTA fans over low the most minor mechanical reworks, it just does not interest me unless it actually leads to a new play style. Min maxing the same numbers with slightly different means is just bland. Maybe if you’re competitive, sure.
>I’m finding out new strategy in LoL all the time.
Its ceiling is still inherently lower due to the forced lane meta. There are exponentially fewer combinations and possible strategies.
>It lacking complexity is not a real problem that exists.
It absolutely is. It can be your opinion that you like doing the same shit over and over again literally every match, but it's a fact that that heavily limits complexity and variety.
>Min maxing the same numbers with slightly different means is just bland.
I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, this isn't how anything in Dota functions.
>It does have lore in the form of short stories, just no real story outside of Arcane.
All of which are disconnected first party fanfiction AUs. LoL has no consistent lore at all, if it weren't already bad enough for being built on disconnected AUs even within those shit is constantly getting retconned.
LoR has the best art and lore, LoL is fun to play if you don't try to climb, the smaller games are fine, not the most impressive thing you could play though.
Each region in the world has different aesthetic, but they rarely expanded on the world so the best you can get is the show for steampunk, the cinematic videos and the card game.
The card game is good and the fighting game might be fun and that top down game looked pretty sweet but years off and thats pretty much it.
getting into a moba now is retarded and LoL is shit compared to Dota and HoTs and they are making an MMO which is a inherently shit genre for autistic people.
Just stick to watching Arcane trust me i was in the same spot as you trying to get into this but the best characters will always be ignored.
>Pyke
>Fiddlesticks
>Tahm Kench
>Kindred
>Thresh
>Mordekaiser
>Rek'Sai
all the interesting aesthetics are locked behind sexy anime human characters taking the frontline of LoL media because of catering to Asian market.
I like Ruined King.
WHERE IS WILD RIFT ON CONSOLES RIOT
Wait another decade for the fighting game and yet another decade for the MMO
>I accept your concession.
>still has no argument
Nice self portrait
I‘m playing the ekko game right now and it‘s pretty fun
lol is fun
dota is not fun
simple as
Your opinions are not facts
This dotard is really upset his favorite game sucks
This LoLbab is really upset that he doesn't actually have a single argument to prove his game is better
>ruined king
turn based rpg. it got kinda boring quickly
>hextech mayhem
surprisingly good
>wild rift
same as league but small
>tft
not bad but you need to play it a lot to keep up with the meta
>Legends of Runeterra
fun card battler with some interesting mechanics. I get bored of it quick
>Valorant
tactical shooter. guns feel good some abilities are way better than others
>mageseeker
surprisingly decent. It's nice seeing the characters in a different style
>convergence
reminds me of guacamelee, came out today, haven't played it but from what i've seen it looks like it's going to be very fun
>mechs vs minions
honorable mention. It's a board game but it's a damn good one
The fighting game they're developing is made by the same devs who made Rising Thunder so I have high hopes and I'm waiting for more info on the MMO because that's going to be huge
>tactical shooter. guns feel good some abilities are way better than others
this isnt league of legends
It's not but it's still fun. Also if you're an autist, League is a video game in the world of Valorant and it is part of the Riot x Arcane web event they did
wtf is it
>better designs
>likeable characters
>better gameplay
>shorter matches
>can forfeit losing games
this makes the dotard cry out in anger
>opinion
>opinion
>opinion, but false when you look at objective metrics like scope of viability and variety
>opinion whether or not this is a good or bad thing
>opinion whether or not this is a good or bad thing
Still waiting, whenever you're ready
>better designs
We haven't had a good design in almost a decade it's all K-Pop stars
>likeable characters
See previous
>better gameplay
Objectively false
>shorter matches
Until you get held hostage in a losing game for an hour
>can forfeit losing games
Until you get held hostage in a losing game for an hour
I would recommend:
-Ruined King (a turn based RPG, a great introduction to Bilgewater and Shadow Isles),
-Hextech Mayhem (a fun little rhythm game, might not be canon/very exaggerated),
-Legends of Runeterra (a card game with a lot of world building, but it's not for everyone)
Other games weren't really fun for me. There's also Convergence which just came out, it's all about Zaun and Piltover, the setting for Arcane.
