How are Zelda games consistently hailed as the best games of all time? Posted on May 23, 2023 by Anonymous How are Zelda games consistently hailed as the best games of all time?
kellog's of video games
It's just Ocarina and it's because it does the monomyth so well.
and this absolute banger
>It's just Ocarina
"Best game of all time" despite the fact that it plays like this.
This shit blew people's minds back in the day.
What's that? If you choose to do something in the least fun way possible then you don't have much fun? Wow, what a revelation.
"Fun" is a made up word you use when you like something but can't provide any actual evidence that it's good. It's fake and disingenuous in vidya discussion
>Cathartic enjoyment is irrelevant when talking about interactive entertainment medium
>keeps hitting the shield like a dumb ass
Im sure if you played it right it would be faster and more efficient you fucking hack
>would be faster and more efficien
This is a casual board, being good at video games isn't allowed here.
>it does the monomyth so well.
Honestly, no. This isn't true at all.
It does some Peter Pan, generic fantasy, and a few Arthurian images, like the sword in the stone, well. It combines those elements in a way that creates a nice atmosphere.
It does not particularly do the monomyth.
I'm convinced it's 90% just nostalgia and brand simping from people who played a lot Nintendo and Zelda games growing up. As someone who never owned a Nintendo console while young - I completely fail to see the appeal of both OoT as well the newer games.
>give Peter Pan a giant sword
I love Kass! It is certainly an interesting phenomenon OP, but if I were to guess, I'd say it's because the long development cycles, combined with the prestigious brand that Nintendo has developed for the series, and the grandiose nature of each major release leads to the illusion that these games are much better than they actually are! That said, they are still generally fantastic and above-average games in their own right, and even if they may not deserve to be considered the best, they are definitely top-percentile consistently! Though the Fujiyabashi games have been pretty disappointing, and the attachment people have to them is very questionable!

aka Tendie cultists. The same brand of retardation that gave rise to Soulshitters.
What was the creepiest monster Link's ever fought?
That thing in the well with the hands.
Which ones? There's two creepy hand monsters now.
It's not even a contest
But honorable mention to the swamp temple boss in MM, those real voice clips are so eerily out of place
it probably helps that its light hearted fantasy that everyone else forgot how to do.
The music too
Living off the hype from ALTTP-MM
You mean LoZ-OoS
There are only three Zelda games that get that kind of regard, though. OoT, MM, and BotW
Link's Awakening, A Link To The Past, and Wind Waker are hipster picks, but
>Link Between Worlds
There are three zelda games generally viewed as Classics, three also rans, and 11 games that are mid to good. Too early to judge TotK, some games lose their shine after a few years(see: all the 3D Final Fantasy games).
Zelda 1 is a classic loved by anyone who has actually played it
LTTP is not a hipster pick
Not really, people only care about A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and the Ubiclones. Everything else is acquired taste and divisive as fuck.
because they are consistently the best games of all time
