This means that all the dumbest and smartest people at the edges are men, so when you select for only the best you won't see a lot of women.
Vidya doesn't require high IQ though so the disparity probably has more to do with men having higher general interest in games. If the pool of people you pull from is 50-100x bigger it shouldn't be a surprise you find a larger number of talented individuals.

I train mma at an amateur/semi pro level, and in my mma club we have men an women. The men jump at the opportunity to compete, some even joined wanting to compete (bless them) and they train 5 days a week, hours in to git gud so they may compete. Hell, I told my coach I'm down to fight on the 17th of december even though I will fight on the 10th. 1 week of rest is not reasonable, yet I still do it because I hunger for competition. Same goes for the guys in ny club. They have a fight on the 2nd of december and our club is sending TEN guys to fight, all of them hungry to compete. We had to decline five other guys because they still lack experience, they will be fighting on march though.
Anyway, basically in our mma gym we have 15 or something guys hungry to compete.
We have a female section of our gym with nearly as much women as we do men, one of our coaches is my country's first female mma fighter so its legit training. I rolled with some of the girls and skill wise they're good. Their techniques are clean and our level. If they fight other women their weight class they would dominate.
So of course whenever I ask them when they will fight they always answer

I've only ever seen women be good at fighting games or rhythm games and almost all of them were korean or japanese and even then I can only remember 1 maybe 2 that were actually at a tournament.

They might even work hard for something they really want, but they're usually satisfied before it becomes an unhealthy addiction to improve on the one thing they are good at. They usually feel love, companionship, respect and pretty much every good affection almost all of the time, so they eventually reach the point where they think "This is good enough, I'm content with myself".
