Start doing the Elite deep dives if you haven't already, since those start at 4.5 Haz difficulty and then scale up to 5 and 5.5. Or at least just the first stage of them so you can get that middle ground.

It's really really easy once you grasp the basic concept of kiting
    >run around in circles until all the enemies are behind you
    >once you reach a good distance from them, turn around and shoot

    And that's it.

you can't do this reliably in Haz 5 btw
enemies don't exactly B-line to you, they spread out around the cave and only a handful of them actually chase you
the ones that don't? They seem to lead your movement by vector and just try to take a bite here and there, but it completely prevents you from regenerating your shield and force you to take chip health damage
and swarmers are faster than your sprint speed

If you say so, but I don't agree with you. I also have second wind equipped on everyone but scout

Doing Haz4 without breaking a sweat?
You can already do 5 (unless you get bunched up with morons that hog resupplies)
also I know this thread is just trying to generate discussion around the obviously looming update, but try again in about a month once they have revealed everything

Literally just get good, it's all about knowing what needs to be done and how you can accomplish it with your loadout, you'll begin to make less mistakes and take less damage.
When you can go a Hazard 4 mission with little deaths, that's when I say you can start dabbling in Hazard 5.

I remember it was absolutely brutal for me when I started, but now it's normal, in fact it's so normal to me that now I make just as many mistakes as I did when I was a greenbeard, but they don't affect me as much because I know how to deal with the consequences.

What kills me seem to be the swarm sizes, there are so many bugs and so many different kinds that i am overwhelmed by attempting to juggle them all

Get some AoE and focus on blobs.

        could be a build issue
you really feel it when you have no easy outs to a bunch of swarmers and mactera, or just cant clear waves well in general

movement and AoE are king in DRG
Sprint is top tier for getting out of shit situations and as long as you're playing anything that isn't
Scout you should have some form of AoE damage to deal with hordes, never fight them head on when you get an alert and just book it in one direction until you have enough ground between you and some bugs and then dump into them like mad and do it again, never stay in one spot for an extended period of time unless you're Driller with multiple escape routes already planned

You don't. Realize that haz 4 is the comfy difficulty that provides enough of a challenge while not running into sweaty tryhard haz 5 players.
