>current year >game starts with a 40 minute unskippable cutscene >boots you into the prologue immediately >RTX ON >480p >6 FPS >can't get into the options menu until you complete the mission >game crashes on the loading screen >progress lost
ignoring the OP,
"people" legitimately have problems with 90s pc games instead?
>current year >game starts >30 minute installation required on throttled, shit tier servers >30 minute update on those same servers >checking if your online on those same servers for features you don't care about so they can also offer you DLC to purchase
>Modern "open world" game >Install, but have to log into the publisher's website even if there is no multiplayer >DLC advertisements in the main menu >Start game >Long intro cutscene >Long prologue/tutorial mission. Info-dumps everything about the game on you, but you can't access it later so you better remember it all now! >Finish tutorial, another long cutscene >"Finally I can play the game" >Try to explore, in spite of NPC's nagging at you to "hurry!" >Most areas are "locked", requiring abilities or items you get later >The things you can get from exploring now are inconsequential shit replaced in 5 minutes at most. >Almost all drops is a currency and various crafting materials, or cosmetic shit that looks like ass. >Enemies and bosses don't drop anything cool or interesting - everything worth having is crafted >Forced to play the story to unlock more areas >After hours of playing you now have some abilities required to explore >Backtrack to previous areas >Suddenly you're forced into yet another story mission because you accidentally walked too close to a friendly npc who forced you into a conversation >No way to quit mission, so you have to complete it, and autosave prevents reverting to last save >Mission is at least an hour long, and now takes you to an area impossible to backtrack from >All the stuff to be "explored" in the "open world" is only accessible much, much later after this story arc is done. >Except now the game world is changed, making it more difficult to do so. >Finally, after many hours, you are able to explore freely and get all the stuff you want. >Next mission is the last mission of the game, and there's no New Game+.
Bonus points: >The game has an EXP system, but it's "capped" depending on story progress(IE you can't unlock certain abilities, or experience from defeating enemies becomes atrociously low.)
we don't. why should I care about them? let them eat shit and die in the dirt. boomers ruined the world and zoomers are salting the earth, so why is it my responsibility to clean up their messes? why shouldn't I just get mine like everyone else and laugh as they choke on their own shit?
Fallout 1 and 2's combat and introductory levels are complete and utter dogshit. I swear to god you contrarian fricks are going to start talking about how great the temple of trials was.
>you contrarian fricks are going to start talking about how great the temple of trials was >he can't kick a scorpion to death 1v1 >he can't talk down a single moron at the end
NOOOOO I MADE A DIPLOMANCER WHY CAN'T I TALK DOWN THESE GIANT IRRADIATED INSECTS IT ISN'T FAIRRR
SAVE ME TAGGED SPEECH, ENERGY WEAPONS, AND PICKPOCKETING
>tfw tagged speech, EW, and lockpick
fallout 2's opening sucks because CRPGs have terrible combat, the temple of trials is fine if you aren't a brainlet and play with 10 agility like god intended, you won't even be hit if you do it right
Odd isn't it? Fallout 1 you can gain player control in about 2 seconds. >I jUST WANT TO PLAY GAME
Curious that your favourite games have forced walking sections
I don't agree with the whole thing, but I really do hate how older RPGs sometimes start out ball crushingly hard and you have to do a very specific, annoying thing to get your character up and running. Also it's weird, this is the first time i ever saw a screencapped post when it was posted hours prior.

Idk if i had a stroke or something writing this nonsense, but I'm trying to say that I saw the original post when it was posted a few hours ago, and it's surprising to see a thread about it here because I've been browsing for like 2 minutes.

you cant fix stupid.

I played fallout back when it was new and that was my exact game experience

Factually false, the screen transitions alone will take at least 3 seconds total
He's right tho. Shit game.
