what makes you think that you'll ever be in a position to "fix star wars video games"?

    We cant
    Star wars is dead

    SW Outlaws will be mediocre
We will not get a true open world game where you visit planets, fly your ship explore the galaxy
We have the technology but nobody wants to use it

    >they retconned Ventress' death three times now

Imagine dying to Anakin, then Dooku and being revived again for a childish D+ show.

They could actually make some for one.
back in the day it seemed like they made a lot of Star Wars games fairly often.

    >How do we fix Star Wars videogames?
by making more of them? most of the games from the last 10 or so years range from ok to good but are way too rare and don't hit the proper fantasies
if you're asking how do we make BETTER sw vidya it's not possible, the industry trends and what modern developers consider to be fun are all wrong and won't get better

we need some millionaire and star wars fan from Ganker to bankroll a huge open world, seamless loading, storyrich, exploration star wars game

    Anonymous

Why? You could release a good SW game and 90% of threads here would be
    >bitching about kathleen kennedy
    >seething about the shitty sequels
    >saying it's not as good as kotor therefore it's shit
    >making george lucas APOLOGIZE posts even though he recently expressed full support for disney wars
    >anons dropping in to say star wars sucks
    >Black folk
    What's the point?

SW Outlaws could have been something, if you could make your own character, if you could choose to be jedi, scoundrel, bounty hunter

        Anonymous

That's something older videogames could get away with because your choice of jedi/scoundrel or picking different species would usually just be cosmetic. If you want a game that lets you be multiple paths + male/female and make your decision result in unique experience for each path, each of these paths needs to be developed, each of them asking for means more animations, more cutscenes, more scriptwork, more voicework, more effects, etc. Adding real variety snowballs development time exponentially in modern game design, it's a nice idea but it would take a decade of work to make that really work in an AAA game.

Disney could make bank with cosmetic in a star wars open world game, cosmetics for your main char, for your ship, for your speeder bike, for your weapon, armor

          >it's a nice idea but it would take a decade of work to make that really work in an AAA game.
anon we have these kind of games already
the technology exists alas it's the investors which are the culprits here

            >anon we have these kind of games already
And which game is that? If it's 20+ years old then it's not the same, development time used to be much shorter then. Try making KOTOR with modern visual assets and modern demands it'd take 3x time to make. I'm not going to go in depth to why that is, I'll just say that something KOTOR could get away with was rudimentary character animations. Now for modern videogames everyone expects the facial animations and body animations of characters during cutscenes to be humanlike and that'll 10x more time to do than rudimentary animations. There's hundreds of situations like this and it's why modern AAA games as barebones as they are take like 5 years to make.

              >And which game is that
bioware games, elden ring, dragons dogma 2 mostly
again we have the technology, but the higher ups dont want to invest that much money into a longer project anymore

                >bioware games, elden ring
Bioware games limited themselves to human man/woman and shared virtually 95% of the same content between them. And Elden Ring is a combat adventure game, the narrative roleplay elements you're asking for don't exist in it.

                I'm not being a c**t, you're just posting examples that aren't really feasible. BG3 is a good one but that's like 1 in a 1000.
