Those "leaks" were probably false-flags since they were announcing practically everybody else from the relevant franchises
They probably could have garnered slightly more goodwill for the game if there was more singleplayer content that actually honed in on the crossover material but nah, just some bare bones gameplay that's easy to grasp for people who actually know how to use assists but most people really couldn't.
The singleplayer we did get was boring as shit too. It's not MVCI tier awful but just lazy. The Opening animation being pure QUALITY should have tipped us off.
Players didn't care to stick with it, the hype fags leave as soon as character announcements end, and fans of the respective universes didn't even bother making too much art of it either.
I would have probably gotten bbtag if it had melty characters in it, and I would still be playing it even if it ended up being shit for babies
The timeline definitely didn't pan out for melty blood characters. They couldn't have gotten away with the lazy shit they did with porting Akatsuki's UNI sprite and calling it an AKB crossover. The only reason Tank was chosen because they just needed to update his visuals and it barely had any animations that an actual humanoid character would have needed redone.
There were enough genki retard protags so Yumi fit the bill better than Asuka

Start a Warriors Orochi spinoff with Senran Kagura as the base. Bring back all the guest characters they've had before while bringing in more and even including new series. Give everyone their time to shine, however small it may be, while keeping everyone playable.
They've already got lots of monster designs for their Orochi faction, so use those.
It could be a revival for Senran Kagura, Ikki Tousen, and anything else they throw in.
