>game director almost destroys pso2 with episode 4 and 5 >swap him out for another guy who kind of saves it, episode 6 turns out to be pretty great >turns out the first guy was in charge of NGS
I was a little interested in that one because of the designs, but it doesn't seem like they even cared to let anyone know it was there. I never saw a single thing about it after the initial promos pre-release.
Somehow they expected to get attention in a market as crowded as the gacha one by just existing or something. Reminds me of authors and devs who whine noone checks out their releases, and when you ask what they've done to promote themselves, it's nothing. Sega's just dumb as fuck and gets lucky with things like PSO every so often.
Having a ludicrous amount of solo only content in your MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE rpg is pretty fucking stupid, too. My favourite part about playing online multiplayer games is not playing with my friends!
PSO & PSU were fun singleplayer, however. PSU's singleplayer was mainly separate, but there were story missions playable multiplayer with the expansion (can't remember if any were pre-AotI).
>Episode 5 director >Global ran by trannies & pedophiles redundant who censor feedback >Unmedicated whale playerbase that doxes & harasses each other for being called ugly >9 premium scratch tickets going at the same time
the fun thing is Sega can't even add it competently
it doesn't scan for modified files, it doesn't scan for programs active while it's active, it is solely checking for alterations to the process itself, meaning the worst of xigncode3 isn't there but it also isn't even worth adding at that point in the first place as a gigantic waste of their fucking money yet again
My feeling is Wellbia probably offered a low enough price compared to Nprotect, that it was far more attractive financially, so it became a case of going with the lowest-bid contractor without regarding competence. Pretty typical executive dumbdumb decision.

It feels like a bait and switch. Once their contract with Gameguard is over and everyone is forced into xigncode3, they would all the entirely of Xigncode3 into the game and all the dick suckers that goes LOL NO BIG DEAL would get whitelisted by the antivirus and banned. Those that are using shading and mods might get targeted in the fulll version. Those that remain will get hit by constant lag, making the game unplayable.
>it doesn't scan for programs active while it's active
I guess that is why there is so many people wanting this version of the anti cheat over game guard.
I keep forgetting they did this. It's bafflingly bad.
Would the Japanese even take something in the vein of PSO again? Or are they fully conditioned to 2's model and on?
>Would the Japanese even take something in the vein of PSO again?
Monster Hunter is plenty successful, so yeah.
>Or are they fully conditioned to 2's model and on?
That's the choice of the publishers funding online games, unfortunately. Why risk a modest buy + sub model when you can get a few dedicated whales to keep your game profitable forever through cosmetics?
I suppose so, but the deliberate mission or lobby-based cooperative play is what I want. I have been playing the seamless co-op mod of Elden Ring with a friend, and that's been a lot of fun. I wish From would just make a full co-op experience instead of the same system we've had since Demon's Souls.
>I wish From would just make a full co-op experience instead of the same system we've had since Demon's Souls.
I hope they're exhausted with the whole Souls/BB/Sekiro/ER fundamental design and do something like that, even with similar gameplay. They could even adapt it straight out of the Nexus' design, but you sortie directly with friends into semi-randomized linear areas like PSO/U, and have the potential to be challenged by antagonist players under certain conditions (From's contribution).
Its more of a problem that the money NGS earn isn't specifically use on NGS. Its use on everything else, and those things are killed (that mobile game), is kill before launch (Hyena), or simply wasting money. On top of a bad release of NGS, killing a good amount of players, shitty community managers, and the lack of anything, its no wonder it barely get 2k. Xigncode3 is around the horizon and this might kill the JP gaijins
Sega are just actually fucking retarded. They literally kneecapped PSO2 beyond repair to try and force players over to NGS instead of just leaving their moneymaker on life support to maintain a playerbase during the massive fucking content droughts NGS has had since launch.
Its pretty annoying when there like one or two people, one being David, actively tries to ask sega to improve and get Base running, while literally everyone else aka all CM are too busy using their power to get popular in game and circlejerk themselves. Imagine having the fucking Jap Translator do your job.
>thinking that the joke afterthought english community staff has any say or sway on fucking anything
sega wouldn't listen, nor do they care what westerners think.
I genuinely love the creative space and the character creation, but I hate that SEGA keep doing things to make NGS worse with every update. Its fucking annoying.
Leciel was genuinely fun, but as usual, sega did nothing to support it as something you'd continue doing going forward.
Some days I doubt there even is an actual lead on ngs. It feels like a dozen different people are each pulling it in their own directions with no agreement, commitment, or long-term plan for things.
Hell, I do Solus everyday because I love the fight, and I should be excited when it becomes an UQ, but this was the same time they drop the xigncode3. Meanwhile, the 4 man solus doesn't get the Rank 10 weapon as a possible drop, but Retem Mining Rig did. Yeah, I get the feeling that despite being one of its "cash cow", they don't have that many people working on it. Its just frustrating all around.
>fucking up CAST >no point of playing robot waifu >vtube tranny gacha instead of making cool CAST parts >fema- sorry type 2 CAST is just type 2 human with skimpy armor
Japs.
Nothing less, nothing more.
Look at what they did to the MH mmo
Look at what they did to the dragons dogma mmo.
Japan simply van NOT be trusted with MMOs.

Seg -ACK can't do anything right

By making your once online/offline game online only. Now the games just pure MMO slop.
Having a ludicrous amount of solo only content in your MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE rpg is pretty fucking stupid, too. My favourite part about playing online multiplayer games is not playing with my friends!

Regular PSO2 was online only and was fine.
New Genesis is where it fucked up beyond repair.
Be careful, you are going to awake the PSO autists.
How do you take a genre known for it's whacky loot-fest treadmill grinding and forget to put fucking loot in it? Caps are fucking boring.
By being SEGA
>Episode 5 director
>Global ran by trannies & pedophiles redundant who censor feedback
>Unmedicated whale playerbase that doxes & harasses each other for being called ugly
>9 premium scratch tickets going at the same time
>MMO
fuck off
it is not an MMO, retard
turning guild wars into guild wars 2.
GW1 turn into a botted mess where you get banned for playing PvP and GW 2 is dead content after dead content.

Good point.
Man, I hate Sega so much.
The Souls games are also traceable as a descendant of PSO, especially considering the online features which define them.

Aren't they killing VPN players and modding in Japan?
modding seem fine, but we don't know about the VPN via tweakeruntil after Steam get the xigncode3, but also get the opt out to Gameguard.
All it needs is good content, like leciel but better.
I want to like it but I don't. Loaded up PSO on dreamcast and fucked around for a while instead.
Why not just play the emulating servers and get the PSO online experience?
Game would be bearable if it wasn't filled with shit skins and trannies, in other MMOs I could at least avoid them
