GF doesn't give a shit about gaijin regions, which is why all the non-jap gens feel like themepark versions of their respective countries.

Some homosexual title for not conforming to the gender binary, which hilariously undermines their whole concept of gender being a spectrum

You can literally say this about a good chunk of trainers in most regions; why are japanese office ladies in new york?
The frick do most gym leaders have to do with the overall theme of their region? Could it be that not every chunk of a pokemon region is based on the country its based on?

That’s like basing a region off of Africa but majority of the characters are white people from an urban area. If each generation is based off of a real world country, the characters should at least have some cultural representation that ties in with the region.

Well too bad moron, thats not what they want to do and its shows in most regions.
The region theming is just a random baseline, its not what they base their entire game off of.

It "should" be whatever the creators feel like, they don't have some debt to the places they're pulling some influence from. Getting this stuck on details is autistic.

It’s not autistic, why even base a region off of Spain if the characters or Pokémon have no correlation to the real world culture of that country? The designs anymore are just to fit current “trends” or events or that market towards a certain demographic. Iono and Penny are prime examples of that

The autistic part is you getting caught up on the idea that it being based on something=it needs to reflect that perfectly.
It gives a baseline for the creative process, but its not a cage in this way. Paldea has some stuff that stems from Spain, but ideas that are unrelated are allowed.

For the umpteenth time, they're not lazily shoving real-life countries into the games and renaming them. And real-life places are more than the stereotypes blasted into your head by "the media." Real-life Spain has a lot of the same types of people your country has, including those who look like Penny.

You shouldn't be this dumb when you can easily find a whole website full of Spanish people living their daily lives in Spain on YouTube. Look up Didac Ribot. He's just a prank YouTuber, but his videos provide a small peek into life around a Spanish town, and it looks no different from what I'm used to seeing in the US.

It depends on which aspect of the real-life setting they're using as a basis. It could be architectural, cultural, aesthetic, geographical, colors, etc. etc. etc., or a mixture. In Pokemon, the inspiration is super loose and rarely hyperfocused on the cultures and stereotypes of real-life places. Doing too much opens them up to bad publicity or possible cancellation.

You're assuming realgays actually play the games instead of just reading what region each one is based on and b***hing about that.

she looks like your generic tumblr user who uses made-up pronouns in her twitter bio. it's such an ugly color choice too, they used the same color scheme for the protagonist of the new fire emblem game. it's shit.

Do you think everyone just wears cultural clothes that correspond to their country all day?

      OP

Americans thought for the longest time all egyptians dress like pharaohs and everyone in Japan wears a kimono or yukata 24/7 and learning it's not the case is one of their biggest hang ups with "globo homo"
