Just like Final Fantasy, it's not even on my radar.
This. I'm shocked a fourth is even being made. Didn't play 3 either.
>A fourth
Every single other KH game that did not have a 4
that could have easily been the 3rd game and then got a 3rd game to get a 4th game, says hello.
This
3D would have been 3 if that shit hadn't been dumbed down so hard

With Disney movies being underwhelming or straight up shit for quite a chunk of years now the Disney Filler dread will get real fricking bad (combined with Gummi Ship bullshit as well). People tolerated the filler Disney worlds when they were Renaissance or timeless classic films. But I think it's going to be a huge nuisance now since Disney Movies have gone way down and I don't particularly care about Marvel and Star Wars so that's not going to shield anything.
The story has honestly become way too shitty. Like seriously. The story has become way too outlandish and once Nomura introduced time travel and reviving the dead a lot of tension and weight was lost for the narrative. I seriously can't even begin to care about anything, it's like Dragon Ball where death is a joke. Doesn't help that there's also reincarnation....again like Dragon Ball (Majin Buu reincarnating into Uub).
And the gameplay never remains consistent so that's really not inspiring hope. Kingdom Hearts 3 sold well due to veteran fans highly expecting that game for many years and though it did sell well because the series has become so flawed Kingdom Hearts has a bleak future. Things wouldn't be so grim if Kingdom Hearts was easy to get into for newcomers as well, but hey Nomura doesn't like accessibility since he still insists on multiple mobile games for the story something that even shaves off veteran fans before KH3 released as veteran fans didn't all want to keep up with phone games.
Kingdom Hearts is honestly in a huge mess right now because of Disney (makes trash movies), Square Enix (they destroyed Tokyo Team), and Nomura (ruined the story and characters and writing quality along with Tai Yasue). The only person who didn't screw up is bloody Yoko Shinomura with being a freelance composer for the music. Kingdom Hearts is looking like its rotting to death.
Image related was the last hurrah of Kingdom Hearts. Seeing Sora in Smash.
The worst thing about Nomura right now it that he just makes endless cliffhangers.
The Union storyline is more carrot and stick than actual meat, and so is KH3.
I'm only curious to see where the whole Versus/Verum Rex shit will end up on, other than that, no I couldn't care less about saving Sora again. Watch KH5 be about saving Riku or Kairi again
If It were me writing the story from this point onward what I would do is have Sora learn to be independent. Sora said in Kingdom Hearts 2 that he's fine the way he is. But that's because Riku is saving his ass like in Dream Drop Distance and it's Riku trying to bring him back from Quadratum in Kingdom Hearts 4. If I were writing Riku I would have him tell Sora off about how he can't eternally expect him to keep babysitting him forever. Sure Sora helps Riku right back like when he defeated possessed Aqua, but most of the time it's Riku saving Sora and guarding him. Sora needs to develop and mature because the whole staying as always ignorant and stupid nonsense gets old. Maybe Goku from Dragon Ball has managed to remain popular despite having that personality, but Sora doesn't have the iconic prestige of Goku, so Sora remaining so hopelessly stupid always needing his best friend to bail him out of a mess he got himself into is tedious after what? The third time this has happened.
And yeah getting tired of the endless cliffhangers as well. Wouldn't be so bad if the writing was better, but it's not. Thankfully Nomura hired that The World Ends With You writer to help with upping the quality of the writing. Hope that works out. I don't want Kingdom Hearts to truly become a hopeless unfun mess.
Riku is trash dude and has his own huge flaws. Sora is the one saving the day in the end anyways.
In Sora's defense, he is the primary force that moves the narrative, the one person that is always getting shit done. It's reasonable that he won't always win and will need help from his friends to get him off a shitty situation.
If KH4 was literally Verum Rex with the story only tying into the main story in some places, I would be all in.
Nomura honestly is the best and worst thing for the franchise. I am no longer a KH fan. I won't be playing any new games going forward unless they fix a lot of things or try new and interesting stuff.
You should take a screenshot of your comment, im sure you will totally buy kh4
I will frame it and put it next to my KH game collection. I am seriously sick of KH and where it is headed. Nomura has gone way too far with the mystery and stories. It is not fun anymore. The KH3 DLC, Dark Road, and MoM were big let downs for me. I was let down seeing the KH4 trailer.
Then frame it, im not even being disingenuous, im sure all these guys who complain here just need one trailer
imo everything setting up the next arc in 3, ReMind, Dark Road etc is the best KH has been narratively since 2.
That is true. At least we have moved on from the Keyblade war. I just wish we'd get new and interesting characters. It seems like everyone is connected to everyone, which makes the world seem smaller. A twist of Master of Masters looking like a character we already know would be really lame imo. I just want new characters and a new story to focus on. Yozoras introduction seems like a good step in the right direction. With how everything after KH3 is setting up KH4, it just seems like they'll do a KH3/DDD all over again. I hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be a really great game.
I really hope MoM takes off his hood and he’s a completely new character, I want the story to go in a new direction, not just repeating the same characters we’ve had since KH2. Let the Xehanort saga be done.
Xigbar being Luxu is fine since it was always very clear there was something suspicious about him, but if MoM is Demyx or some shit I’ll be disappointed.
MoM is Sora.

Best summary.

She phoned in 3's soundtrack a large part of it was recycled from past games, can you even remember any of the new tracks?
Yes considering face my fears, and don't think twice have like 12 different remixes that are approved by Nomura as well as appearing on 2 different square albums and in orchestral composition cds
>Face My Fears
>implying Skrillex dubstep shit is any good
>Master of Masters
>Nachtflugel
I accept your concession, morono.

My favorite songs:

Disney lost a lot of cash last year and this year given what they announced for media they are going to have a nightmarish bad year.
These incoming years are going to be a failure for Disney. This is what they'll release...
Black Little Mermaid
Wish
Win Or Lose
Live Action Computer Animated sequel to Lion King
Hercules remake
Latino Snow White
Iwaju series about Nigeria being an advanced civilization
Tiana series for Princess and the Frog a movie that was never grandiose
Feminist Indiana Jones
Elio
Does any of this look good and successful to any of you? It's a disaster. All of this is going to under perform at best or fail at worst.
>Disney's live-action remake of its animated film "Hercules," with director Guy Ritchie, will be inspired by TikTok
I'm not sure if it is the lowest point of American "culture" yet or it can slide further.
This is what happens when you fired all talented people and submit yourself to israelites company. I feel bad for kids in this generation that have to grow up with these dogshit remake.
It's only a matter of time before Disney go bankrupt. Capeshit and Star Wars won't keep them afloat forever
From what I hear new skilled people don't bother with Disney and go to work at Dreamworks by default. So talent doesn't knock at Disney's door.
And Disney got infiltrated by israelites since Eisner who was in charge during the Disney Renaissance. Guess the israelites needed to win the trust of the audience before they could allow a israelite like Iger to ruin everything years later.
And animation right now is doing bad because anyone who tells me trash like the Sing franchise or Trolls is good needs to be slapped. And Disney already killed Star Wars, too much media and most of it being bad has set in a sense of indifference where even supposed decent media for Star Wars goes ignored by the fans especially because they refuse to fire the feminist c**t who killed the franchise.
As for super heroes from Marvel, they killed off the popular ones to replace them with minorities and women to be politically correct and Disney does not own Spiderman's movie rights so they can't do anything with him freely (but what we've seen so far is trash, like erasing Spiderman's uncle being killed which motivates him to be a hero it's like erasing Batman's family tragedy). The Marvel days of profit are starting to end. Disney is fricked. Don't be surprised if Disney starts selling their acquisitions to stay independent. But here's hoping Disney dies.
>But here's hoping Disney dies.
Finally no more copyright extensions. Set the mouse free.
So do you have something that tells you whenever Disney is mentioned so you can post the same rants that get deleted by mods or are you just constantly lurking for threads of a game series you don't care about?
>Tiana series for Princess and the Frog a movie that was never grandiose
Princess and the Frog was good. Fight me.
Disney worlds are fun, but not in 3. In 2 it's fun to come back and say "What's up," to your friends even if they met for the first time in the first trip. In 3 you just get an overly long single visit where Sora has little to no goofy anime Squeenix input on the Disney shit to make it funny. The little friendships aren't there. Sora just says "Hey we'll help you Anna," and it goes no where.
>In 2 it's fun to come back and say "What's up," to your friends even if they met for the first time in the first trip.
That was not fun in 2. It was obnoxious padding.
>Toy Box, Monstropolis, The Caribbean
>not fun
KH3 Caribbean might be my favorite world in the entire series. I'm glad I took my time there instead of madrushing to the endgame.
So a reboot without Nomura but by some other writer/entire studio + original composer and only focusing on hit Disney movies would be the solution? I truly, honestly don't give a frick if the complete mess of a story we have gets thrown out the window entirely. The concept is good, an action rpg with Disney and video game characters thrown together. The story was just supossed to be low carb glue but it became insane.
>old good
>new bad
wow amazing take bro
>image
Will Sora remain in Smash? Anyone else hope that Sora stays in Smash like Sonic has.
Depends. Disney was actually on board with Sora being in but Nomura got autistic and held off on if it would fit the lore. It'll probably come down to cost though.
I don't expect any of the SE characters to stick around honestly, just because of how much of a b***h it is to deal with Square.
Same goes for the Konami characters.
KH4 is going to be a return to form with more focus on Final Fantasy and less dimwitted Disney plots. It might sell less initially but as people see its actually what they wanted from 3 they will buy it and KH will be saved.
>KH WILL BE DARK AND SERIOUS...THIS TIME FOR REAL
The recent Puss in Boots movie is darker than all of Kingdom Hearts:
KH fanbois: Disney be keepin' my man Nomura down!
Nomura: I refuse to grow up and write not like I'm mentally an 8 year old.
Spoken like someone who experienced 0 of the mobile stories
what was this scene supposed to be
the link is dead
This scene where Death explains who he is to Puss:
Quite the dark scene, but because someone like Nomura insists that death is a joke, nothing that can happen in Kingdom Hearts can ever be taken seriously. While the movie Puss in Boots Last Wish has a moral about appreciating the life you have and that there is no getting out of dying, Kingdom Hearts is all about you can revive the dead and don't worry you can reincarnate should you die and yes it's possible to remember your old life so what death? Kingdom Hearts is worse than Dragon Ball about making death a joke.
This is the scene I wanted to show:
Someone really should tell Nomura to watch this movie and carefully think about how he handles his characters because one of the reasons Aerith's death is so famous is because you can't undo it in Final Fantasy. But the damn remake is going to maybe ruin that.
Except death is not a joke in KH. When your heart and body both die, you die and can't be revived. Death is danced around with the heart/body/soul concepts but we have yet to see what it means to lose somebody forever for good in KH.
lmao
Are you serious? They brought back literally everyone in KH3
Death is a joke in KH. It doesn't mean anything
Everyone who got brought back wasn't dead. Roxas wasn't dead. Namine wasn't dead. Xion wasn't dead. Aqua wasn't dead. Ventus wasn't dead. Terra wasn't dead. Even the ones who were supposedly dead had been foreshadowed to not actually be dead in the series before like Ansem the wise or Eraqus.
>They didn't really die we just pretended they did
Are you moronic? They never pretended as well. Roxas literally talked to Sora in both KH2 and DDD.
Axel
Xion
Roxas and Namine doesn't make any sense either, they were part of a person but that's something different stupid.
Axel was already in DDD, not KH3. Axel could have stayed dead but nobodies work differenly to humans.
>Xion
Still talked to Riku after what you assume is her death. She even tells you she's just going back to Sora losing her body and everyone's memory of her. Then you see her again in BBS' secret ending which spoils to you how KH3 is gonna bring her back and DDD where she talks to Riku since she is inside Sora's heart.
>Roxas and Namine doesn't make any sense either, they were part of a person but that's something different stupid.
This is cope. KH2 established that he wasn't dead, so it's dumb to assume they were dead. Kairi also wasn't dead just because her heart flew into Sora's in KH1.
>uh actually it doesn't count because they weren't TECHNICALLY dead, they just disappeared for uh...reasons
This is cope
>They're dead because uuuuh I say so just ignore how they aren't dead at all and actually still talk to the characters
Roxas: his heart (soul) rested inside of Sora's
Xion: artificial being created with Sora's heart and memories, her heart rested inside of Sora's
Namine: her heart rested inside of Kairi's
Ventus: comatose after losing his heart (soul), half of his heart rested inside of Sora's, the other half was inside Vanitas
Terra: body stolen by Xehanort, his heart was hiding inside his keyblade armor and Xehanort's/Ansem's heartless guardian
Aqua: trapped inside of the realm of darkness
in KH you die if your heart gets destroyed, that's why Sora, an idiot that was almost norted in DDD, was so important in KH3, without him everyone were doomed, he was the key to bring all of them back and stand a chance against Xehanort
if your body gets destroyed but your heart survives it can be transfered into an artificial body called "replica", a technological advancement created by Radiant Garden's scientists like Ienzo and Ansem the wise, and be given a second chance in life, just as it happened to Xion, Roxas and Namine
All of this shit would've make more sense if they just replaced "heart" with "soul"
The series even just KH1 already points out the Heart is unrelated to the physical hearts.
It's also one of the rare moments of the series being "yeah its weird" when Ansem notices "yes this thing is strangley shaped like a how a heart would be drawn"
Soul and Heart are different things in Kingdom Hearts.
And this is the most basic shit ever, imagine 30 year olds on the internet not being capable of understandind why heart isnt something literal in a disney game, so they need to make fun of it as if they are a lot smarter
>And this is the most basic shit ever, imagine 30 year olds on the internet not being capable of understandind why heart isnt something literal in a disney game, so they need to make fun of it as if they are a lot smarter
I noticed how if LOTR was written by japanese people would call it anime bullshit, the number os times characters say things like "follow your heart" is insane
"follow your heart" is what people say irl too dumbo
Give them a break. The MCU doesn't deal with such worldly historical concepts and spiritual culture
Black person everyone knows the heart isn't literal, the usage of metaphysical of hearts is the same as spirit which fits more with soul
>kh autist suddenly scapegoat capeshit out of nowhere
>The usage of metaphysical of hearts is the same as spirit which fits more with soul
This is what no education and only watching capeshit does to a mf
imagine unironically believe this holy shit touch grass
>Black person everyone knows the heart isn't literal, the usage of metaphysical of hearts is the same as spirit which fits more with soul
If you can only accepts something if it is normal in your reality...kh's meaning of heart makes more sense with japanese culture
This is why japanese games are interesting, their interpretation can be really different even if they are using western concepts and settings, from software games are the proof of that
I watch anime, I know what they're going for, they still use it pretty egregiously in the series
>When your heart and body both die, you die and can't be revived
Anon, this is LITERALLY how Xehanort was revived in KHDDD.
That's not "death". Ansem SOD released MX's heart and Xemnas released MX's body. That's how the Keyblade works.
*Terra's possessed body
idk anymore lol
and then something else about MX being brought from the past before the moment he possessed Terra just so he can give a grand speech to Riku and Mickey
>and then something else about MX being brought from the past before the moment he possessed Terra just so he can give a grand speech to Riku and Mickey
No that's the revived Xehanort. That's why YX calls him "myself from the most distant future" and why this revived MX remembers BBS as years ago.
No, Ansem IS Xehanort's heart and Xemnas IS Xehanort's body. Both were destroyed and somehow this caused Xehanort to be revived.
Would love a cut scene like this with Sora being intimidated by a personification of Death itself in Kingdom Hearts. Sora absolutely deserves to be broken down like this. He insulted the rules of reality to revive his dead friends and separately revive Kairi. He needs to be punished. Like maybe for reviving six individuals he must find a way to pay back Death otherwise Death kills him and ensures he can't be revived or reincarnated, a permanent death courtesy of the Grim Reaper itself.
And don't say it's impossible for the Grim Reaper to exist in Kingdom Hearts. After fighting like three different Heartless blatantly themed after Death and Marluxia's powers being death itself, there's got to be a Grim Reaper somewhere in the Kingdom Hearts universe. But Sora deserves to be actively punished for his actions the Quadratum bullshit is not even close to a punishment.
KH3 had the heartlesss version of the Reaper who doesn't talk
That's nice and all but I mean Death who actually can converse and oversees healthy individuals not Heartless concerned with stealing hearts alone. A Heartless wants to only get hearts because that's their instinct. Death on the other hand wants everything about a person that's tied to their mortality.
I like the stark juxoposion of the emo tranch coat mafia shit with Micky mouse. I don't want them to go too emo or too Disney
You homosexuals are like resident evil fans. You've been spouting the same copium since 2
Have you played any KH games before DDD? The Disney stories have only gotten less focus as the series progressed, and it's definitely been to its detriment.
Really?
I think the best worlds in KH1 were those were you didn't replay a chinese knockoff version of the original movieplot, like Hollow Bastion where you team up with The Beast
Kingdom Hearts will never be without Disney.
Nomuracucks really do love eating shit in hopes that the next serving will taste better.
And Atlantica in 2 will always be kino.
Redesigning Sora again was overkill, he is supposed to be bridge between the two flavors of whimsical fantasy. Now he just looks like the same emo twink Nomura jacks off to every night.
Writing wise, the ideal situation would be to avoid simply making a diet coke version of the original movie's plot (Mulan comes to mind). Instead, have the Disney plot as the initial point in the story, but make it take a wild direction due to the influence of external elements. KH1 comes to mind in that regard.
>KH1 comes to mind in that regard.
kh1 had the disney filler perfect to the point it was hardly even filler anymore
I absolutely hated how fricking heavy handed the disney plot was in kh3, its like sora and co wasn't even there
The Disney shit was 10/10 in Dark Road btw
I liked how they incorporated Sora, Donald and Goofy in Toy Story, Big Hero 6 and Monsters Inc since those were original plots but for the rest of them they felt like spectators. Shit like the Tangled songs happening and then having Sora just standing there in the background was so bad. Frozen was the absolute worst with it.
I thought Sora being confused because we skipped a Pirates movie was really funny but I didn't like the "we found Elsa oh wait nope we gotta climb the mountain again" crap again in Frozen.
I doubt it, Nomura is a moron that's obsessed with his OCs and said that Final Fantasy isn't relevant anymore when that's half the appeal of the first game
Bah, i don't care about FF cameos. They were in the first game for marketing purposes, and now we have a wealth of more interesting and developed characters to use.
no fricking shit, the whole gimmick of the series are for marketing purposes. Disney worlds now are nothing but fillers, the FF characters are already OCs anyway they should've focused on writing them better
>Disney worlds now are nothing but fillers
Not in Dark Road they weren't
> the FF characters are already OCs anyway they should've focused on writing them better
Their arc was finished in KH2, and Nomura's more interested in writing the "KH-OCs" in KH than going "HEY IT'S THE PERSON FROM THE GAMES". Again, fine in KH1 when the "KH Cast" could be counted in one hand (Sora, Riku, Kairi, Ansem) but by 3 the cast had Balloonga'd into a ton of characters with their own backstories and goals, with a timeline spanning decades.
>Dark Road
Again, no FF characters due to Nomura's autism. It's not Dissidia where the FF can't have their own version and unique stories in the KH verse, he should've think about using them better
well it's disney, I'm not surprised if they were mandated to feature their characters more prominently but cutting FF out completely is purely on Nomura
There's never been an indication Disney has anything to do with how SE properties are used in KH. Like with a lot of things its purely on Nomura not really caring to keep adding them. Again, if he wanted it to be an equal crossover in terms of characters and worlds he would have added a world based on a SE in KH1 where the were the most prominent.
>disney would never be critical in how their characters are portrayed
come on now, they're on par with nintendo on this shit. If KH would to have FF worlds that means less Disney worlds they would be able to show, hell all the princess of lights are disney characters.
But there not Disney characters, they're SE characters. From what I've gathered Disney only cares about how their own characters are portrayed (hence the KH3 situation) but don't really care about anything else.
>whatever you do our characters must have importance and not undermined by your properties since the main character is already yours
>well I guess FF characters are only going to be side characters and have one world of their own then
it's not a reach to draw that conclusion
>the main character is already yours
Sora is a Disney character
Yeah, im pretty sure all KH original characters are property of Disney, not square.
This is correct Sora is the only one who is shared, everyone else is 100% Disney
Not even Sora is shared, Sora is Disney.
Disney usually clears it with Square because why kill the goose that laid the golden egg, but Disney can and has used Sora without their permission before.
Donald that wasn't Curaga
well that's just proves my point even further
It was clearly always lopsided in favor of the Disney side, hence no world based solely on a SE property with the majority of the FF characters hanging out in original worlds.
I'll avoid it until it's confirmed there are fun superbosses like the Data Org.
Fighting the Organization again is tedious. If it were me what I would do is use the twelve Zodiac Braves from Final Fantasy Tactics and reimagine them as super bosses. If not that, then the multiple different types of Weapons from Final Fantasy. Maybe throw in War Mech or Gilgamesh (not that phony Heartless from the mobile game).
Another thing I'd like to do in Kingdom Hearts is have a Chocobo sidequest.
I wasn't saying I want them to bring the Org back again, I just want another collection of bosses like them.
nta but I imagine if the next big villains are the Foretellers we'll get them as bosses. Kind of a step down from 13 to 5 but eh
You really think each Foreteller won't have their own squad of cronies?
I WILL buy KH4 and I WILL try to enjoy it!
Honestly the best they could do for Kingdom Hearts is a soft reboot.
Quadratum is the real world, everything previous occurred in a dream world. Sora was dreaming the whole time or make something kinda like Tidus being from Dream Zanarkand. Bring all the original characters to the real world and keep Disney minimal.
Then Nomura could do whatever he wanted to do with Versus XIII. The fans of KH are all old now, it doesn't make sense for KH to be still as childish as it is. There's a reason YoshiP is pushing XVI to be more mature, because the demographic that enjoys FF and KH is mostly over 25.
FFXVI looks generic as frick, as someone that has played every single FF since 5 I have no interest in it whatsoever.
>best they could do for Kingdom Hearts is a soft reboot.
kys, I'm a 31 old boomer and I love the characters and cringekino, maybe you just don't like it anymore, which is fine, but don't lump the rest of the fanbase with you
Man you have really shit taste
from my point of view you have shit taste. Now what, homosexual?
>no u
again, leave this franchise behind a go find something that you'll like.
>stop criticizing and just consume
I didn't say that.
Why are you still hanging around here, in a thread of things you don't like?
I used to like Kingdom Hearts why can't I express my rightful dislike for 3 and the direction the series is heading, fanboy?
You can.
But that's not what you're doing by saying the direction should be different because everyone doesn't like it.
This post is fricking embarrassing.
Speak for yourself, homosexual.
Not as embarrassing as being a defensive manchild that happily slurps up shit
He's right. You're moronic if you don't like FF16
gameplay looks cool but the story and setting are so extremely bland and generic that I'd think it's a game from Bioware if not for the lack of Black folk
>FFXVI looks generic as frick
And KH isn't, lol? You wouldn't even care about Kingdom Hearts if it didn't have Disney branding, it would just another crappy series cast to the side of the road. Anyway, what's even KH identity besides Disney? KHML looks like it's aping 19th century London aka Bloodborne.
>You wouldn't even care about Kingdom Hearts if it didn't have Disney branding
I might've seen 2.3 Disney movies in my life and most of my knowledge about it comes from KH. I don't care about Disney.
That said you're delusional if you're calling KH setting and locations generic when comparing generic medieval village #318319831 to shit like The World that Never Was, Scala ad Caelum, Keyblade Graveyard, Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town, Castle Oblivion
>Anyway, what's even KH identity besides Disney?
Well the first game opens with you fighting shadowy monsters on stained glass platforms and choir music running in the background. There's always been this bizarre, gothic fantasy vibe to KH, and becomes more evident in original levels like Hollow Bastion.
>the first game opens with you fighting shadowy monsters on stained glass platforms and choir music running in the background
All bark and no bite. All it could do was evoke the feeling of something forbidden in tweens before bursting into the most straightforward "power of the friendship" speech.
Yeah Disney movies never have monsters.
And the stained glass platforms had the iconography of Disney princesses and were clearly harkening back to fantasy imagery.
Kingdom Hearts is supposed to be nostalgic. play sword fighting with your friends, when you have to go back to school after summer break. That's what the series should actually be about, and that makes sense for a game which includes disney. What should have happened is that sora grew up and we got a new character to play as. Instead sora stayed an obnoxious child even well into his late teens.
Honestly I agree. It's so disappointing and contrived that Sora isn't a keyblade master after 2 or at beginning of 3 despite saving all the worlds and universe like 4 times at that point.
Him becoming a master in line with maturing from KH1 to KH3 SHOULD have been how the series progressed. But instead it's always Yensid being like 'lol no you need to train more etc'.
Like...he killed a whole spaceship monster in 1 l, cut fricking buildings in half in 2, and don't get me started on 3.
>It's so disappointing and contrived that Sora isn't a keyblade master after 2 or at beginning of 3
It's just an exam. It doesn't mean anything and Sora doesn't care about it.
Xehanort himself, an extremely powerful Keyblade Master entrusted and bequeathed the literal X-Blade to Sora at the end of 3.
I dunno why you care so much about Sora completing an exam.
I don't know why people equate OMG HE IS EPIC NOW as being qualifications for Keyblade Mastery. There's a single character so far that has actually deserved the title so far, and that was Riku. All Aqua did was hit some light balls. Eraqus was a light autist and shunned the darkness. Xehanort was a darkness autist and squandered the light. Riku is the only one we've seen so far to master and take advantage of both. Sora is only beginning to make use of darkness and still never makes a conscious effort to use it.
After 3 fricking games despite the idea of being a chosen one (before every fricking person can wield a keyblade) you'd have expected there to be some clearer progression to his character than this.
Fine epic shit, not sufficient for Keyblade Mastery, but ffs it reeks of making it up as you go when your main character stays so fricking static across like 11 games, all of which have overarching story and narrative importance.
Sora literally killed himself for Kairi in 1, became a heartless, came back etc etc. They COULD have progressed him learning to harness darkness with antiform in 2 and culminated his mastery arc in 3. But it's regular static character writing.
I just wish our main character actually matured and grew and this could be acknowledged in the story rather than it being ignored to fit into a predefined and prolonged 'mastery, training' arc.
It just feels like what you do as a player does not match up to what the narrative wants you think.
>what's even KH identity besides Disney
Conceptual relationships, arrangement, and themes.
KH's atmosphere capitalizes on romantic death. You can hear the wedding/funeral dirge style in the music.
Nobody's have a body but no heart. Heartless are hearts with no body yet act purely on instinct. And now the concept of body and heart-snatching.
It's how those concepts and relationships are physically portrayed in the games that creates the cryptic effect reminiscent of Tales from the Dark Side.
>Anyway, what's even KH identity besides Disney?
Gameplay, the story, the character, the themes. Literally everything not Disney really. Anyone who copes themselves into believing people only buy KH for the Disney stuff has not paid attention to Disney having tried that shit already multiple times through other movies and games but failing hard.
>Literally everything not Disney really
That's false tho, Mickey is basically the coolest he's ever been in this franchise.
No one's buying or even playing KH for him though.
>the story, the character, the themes
Yes, friendship, being empowered by one's heart and/or purity, good vs evil, manifestation of darkness, defeating an old evil wizard dude, etc.
Totally nothing like Disney.
Or, hear me out... those themes are in literally freaking everything. Yes, they fit disney, but it also fits like 70% of shonen anime, by conservative estimate. Hell, FF8 has this as a theme to a minor extent. Dont disagree the disney makes the setting, but it aint what i ever tuned in for. Its just the trim.
>Its just the trim.
I think thats what I'm getting at. A lot of people on Ganker view the Disney element of Kingdom Hearts as literally just the characters and worlds, and deny any influence it had on Nomura in terms of the aesthetic or themes. Its part of the reason why so many people keep wanting the series to somehow drop Disney
Imagine being this mindbroken by Disney propaganda to think these things were disney exclusive and KH didn't have a lot more unique themes to offer than that
This. I don't fully agree, as the DisneyXFF crap is what sold it to child me, and I wanted to see donald get fricked up by fiends (didnt happen, but i still liked it) but the only disney characters I ever cared about even t Disney age were the main cast who traveled between worlds. If more disney characters literally swam through space, Id care more, but the series just locked everyone down tighter with each new game, kinda making the disney elements less and less enjoyable.
This. The "darker and edgier" route XVI is taking honestly looks comical.
>cringekino
Frick off. Kingdom Hearts is genuine kino. Stick to your Marvel goyslop, NPCs.
>Sora was dreaming the whole time or make something kinda like Tidus being from Dream Zanarkand
Dream Zanarkand is a physical location out in the ocean away from Spira. It's true that the entire place is copy pasted from its original location to another as a form of astral projection, though.
>Sora was dreaming the whole time
That would retroactively frick over a lot of shit, like making DDD a dream within a dream for no reason. Nomura would also not contain himself and inevitably make this huge reveal about how Sora's dream was a premonition of the future or some kind of pocket universe that is technically real and is flooding into the real world.
Nomura is the Isayama of gaming
Series should have ended after 2.
1*
I’m betting for a 60% fall if Sora’s story remains without a satisfying conclusion. A 30% if the opposite is true.
It'll be over a million in sales, but it'll taper off.
>cringekino
One of those lame attempts to turn "laughing at you" into "laughing with you" from Nomuratards. Look, if you series was good, you wouldn't need to reappropriate a derogatory word used to mock the daft, tone deaf nature of that diet shounen with dumb kids who carry Walmart swords.
>derogatory word used to mock the daft, tone deaf nature of that diet shounen with dumb kids who carry Walmart swords
Thats not what cringe is used for at all, people just use it for "thing I don't like"
Cringe is just secondhand embarrassment it's not a hard concept to understand
I just hope they fix the combat
>too scared to reply to a post so just makes a general post
lmao what a fricking pussy
KH4 is going to pull a Sonic Frontiers where it looks drastically different from other games but does just enough that it excels enough to be great regardless of level design and sound being significantly inferior.
>now that the franchise is in free fall
So franchises being extremely successful means that they're failling now? 2023 is a really weird year.
morons have been convinced by the billion and one “Star Wars is dead” or “MCU sucks now” youtube essays that things are flopping when the opposite is occurring.
A bit.
Franchise isn't in free fall, though.
I do hope the series will go back to be ignored by the masses so I don't have to read all this bullshit about Nomura being fired, Nomura ruining this and that, the pacing, the story is convoluted etc.
We'll finally go back to fricking 20 people talking about it in unknown forums.
Hope you won't be there.
They will show the star wars world and the normalgays will buy it in droves
it's in free fall?
>the disney filler is less filler now
>kh3: frozen world
homie you know they going to add star wars and 4 will suck ass.
>he doesn't want a star wars world
keep marvel the frick away from kh but a star world world makes 100% sense with all the light vs dark frickery in the series
just pray it will be of the old movies and not the new trilogy
also i want a lightsaber keyblade
Didn't KH3 sell 5~6 million? It hardly seems like freefall to me. And before you bring up Melody of Memories, that's a rhythm game, those barely ever sell gangbusters.
people fricking hated the final of kh3 and normalgays hated the fact they had no clue anymore what the story was about
And this wont matter at all when they see star wars in kh4
People who think that kh4 also wont be the most sold of the franchise are naive
KH3 was controversial but people who dont get how nomura just needs to make sora hold a lightsaber in a kh4 trailer to everyone get on board again are funny
Even more how this will be the start of a new arc
Yeah, just with the announcement trailer a lot of people who didnt like kh3 became hyped again with it
>KH3 was controversial but people who dont get how nomura just needs to make sora hold a lightsaber in a kh4 trailer to everyone get on board again are funny
>Even more how this will be the start of a new arc
I really wonder if these guys who act like there was a massive drop on the series after kh3 really believe on it or they want that to be true
KH4 is probably the easiest time that kh ever had to make the franchise approachable for new fans since...kh1?
This is why im sure it will break records on sales
Nomura is such a massive Star Wars fanboy he's bound to do as much cool shit as he can get away with. Not only is the series basically already anime Star War (complete with a black robed villain who used red laser weapons and lived in metal fortress) but Square referenced Star Wars for years in old FF games.

Too bad it’s going to be the Sequel Trilogy.
>EoS'd gacha game is more important to the future story than KH3
>new gacha game is setting things up for KH4
Deja vu. Who's stupid enough to care about this crap again, lol?
>KH2
Sells 4 million worldwide (Okay shipped but it's been 1 decade+)
>KH3
Sells 7 million worldwide (I know 7, of course)
Why are haters stupid? The franchise it's in a healthier place than it was a decade ago, a second golden era since the 2007-2012 (We got II, ReCoM, 358/2. BBS, ReCoded and DDD).
Since III (2019) we got ReMind, UnionX finale, Dark Road, Melody of Memory, Missing Link (soon) and KHIV confirmed in the future. The dark ages could be the interim between KH-CoM-II and the waiting time for III (2012 to 2019, 7 years you know a classic when you see it)
Mobile games are not real games and should not ever have story relevance past slight nods. They ruined the franchise.
Who made that rule? Normalgays?
>Square Enix homosexual frothing when people don't want to line some scummy businessmen's pockets to be drip-fed a 2/10 (at best) story
>He paid for it
Anon, they were free, the story missions were easy as frick, they even gave you an Auto button. Or just go to fricking YT.
>didn't give Sora a happy ending
he fricking deserved it Nomura you hack!
Needs to actually use disney for once. I want to be Donald and Goofy for half the game. I want characters from every movie and show to be important and actually be friends with Sora and D/G instead of pretending they are when really they don't know each other at all. I want to learn more about Mickey's character and see more of his friendship with Riku. Normally when people say something is filler they're moronic, but the disney worlds in most of the games suck ass so idk maybe they're right. It needs to be fixed. It's at least 90% of every game. And then all you homosexuals act like they don't exist and KH is only about the original Black folk. And also FF even though FF characters have never ever done anything other than make me fall asleep. They were never truly a part of the story, or had any personality. The most notable thing that happened is that aqua had a date planned with one of them, and that should have fricking been Herc anyway. At least he was from a disney world. Speaking of which, why aren't more characters from those worlds? There are alot of important OCs, but not a single one happens to be from any one of the thousands of disney worlds?
And most importantly they need to make it make some sense for once. What even is darkness? What's a heartless? Why does anyone do any of the things they do? Only 358 made any sense, and that's only if you play it without context. ALSO, they need to make another game where you play as Roxas. There isn't a single moment I'm playing any of the HD numbers collection games where I don't wish I still had my DS and a copy of 358. And they need to fix the black coat design that they did in 3. Why is it now made of leather, and a really dark brown instead of black? It was the only cool outfit in the series and they fricked it.
Oh shit wrong pic I'll enjoy my vacation. I'm sorry.
(I saw a disney pic in my folder but the thumbnail was too small I'm sorry)
Just delete the image.
You can do that? How?
Well then, you might need to make the best of it and send more before you go.
Frick you I'm not a coomer.
That's what they all say...

I'm only on DDD so far. But I'm almost done and almost ready to start 3, so if what I said was wrong I'm sorry. Anyways DDD has been pretty good so far but I'm stuck at young xeahanort and I don't want to grind. This boss fight sucks and I have no idea how the play testers didn't fricking tell them that.
>This boss fight sucks and I have no idea how the play testers didn't fricking tell them that.
They just spammed Ballonga, bruh.
Did you get the what the frick moment when he time resets the fight?
Yeah and I would have thrown my controller through my TV if I hadn't mastered self restraint while you were out partying.
Kek, I played it on 3DS at launch and it let me to a moment when I just needed to put the console down.
What Pokeman do you need to get Balloonga? I only have the first two tiers of that spell.
Why thank you.
I believe you can bought it with the Flick Rush minigame.
When you get to 3 remember to pick the option that allows you to use pro codes so you can turn off attractions if you realize you don't like that mechanic. Game became so much more fun for me once I did that.
How many Disney IPs beside Star Wars would help bring back people interest in this series? There are few i can think of
>The incredibles
Should have been in KH3 instead of Hero 6
>Cars
I'm surpised this guy is not summonnable in KH3 it was pretty popular back then
>Zootopia
Furry baits are always sell
>UP
Pixar's masterpiece
>Wall-E
Love the film, would make a good story
>Frozen
Need a second chance
>Wreck it ralph
Already in but would be nice to see it in mainline game
>Maleficent (live-adaptation)
Makes sense since she still on the loose and up to something
>Coco
Not sure how Mexican afterlife gonna work in KH lore but Nomura will find a way
>Inside Out
Then again, Nomura will find a way
>Lightyear
GOD PLEASE NO
I want to see Wizards of Waverly Place and Amphibia. Also Owl House sucks but the setting had potential so maybe if they try real hard they can make it good.
Big Hero 6 was literally the only good Disney world in 3h9dkkn
>Pick Big Hero 6 over Toy Box world
Opinion discarded.
I think KH4 will have zero returning worlds.
Treasure Planet will get a lot of people happy. It's been a fan favorite pick for many years now right?
It's probably not going to be in because of Star Wars though.
I haven't watched Coco but a lot of people liked it as far as I can tell, and it fits with the 4 afterlife theme
Moana would be a perfect obligatory water world, even though I would prefer Atlantis.
I could the Underworld coming back since it looked like Hades was teased in the trailer. And Nomura just really seems to love that movie since its appeared in nearly every game.
>Treasure Planet
>Atlantis
That era is long gone, Anon. We won't see classics like Hunchback of Notre Dame or Fantasia in KH game ever again.
I would genuinely love to see them attempt another live action world, like one of the Disney sitcoms or live action movies.
Im sure the realistic form of sora is probably for him to have an easier transition to live action IPs like Star Wars
A world based on a Disney channel sitcom would be kino
Not sure which one I’d pick though
>sitcom world
>camera is fixed on a single angle of the room
>Sora enters the room
>crowd cheering can be heard
>in fact, it's the exact same sample used in the actual Disney sitcoms
>Sora looks around, confused and asks what was that
>sitcom character has no idea of what he is saying and makes a snarky comment
>stock crowd continues to laugh as an angry Sora tries to find them
Sora trapped in Smart House. Tron is there too.
Reminder that one of the twins from Zach and Cody voiced Yozora
>They got one of the twins to voice him? Well I guess Disney and all that...
>What the frick? Why does he sound so cool?
Him saying it was a childhood dream is hilarious, I hope Yozora is in 4 a lot since Dylan is really good at the voice

>Freaky Friday world
>Shaggy dog world
>Honey I Shrunk the Kids world
we'll just get star wars and strange world.
>GOD PLEASE NO
I am extremely concerned that Lightyear being a fictional story in the Toy Story universe makes it a good fit for KH4's worlds of fiction
I never watched it, what was wrong with the Lightyear movie. You'd think a big budget story about Buzz in space fighting against whatshisname would be a slam dunk, how did they frick it up?
Literally everything you listed is zoomer shit.
Star Wars is the only thing for me, it has way more in common with KH than any other live action property
you could even do it in the style of the 3d cartoons like clone wars
>Furry baits are always sell
Explain why Star Fox and Sly Cooper failed to sell? Anthro media does not sell as well as you think, even recent offerings like Bad Guys aren't too profitable. Zootopia was a glitch in the system.
I genuinely think Zootopia sold as well as it did because of that one fricking sloth joke that was in every single trailer. I remember seeing that trailer so much, and every theater it played had big reactions. Noticeably more than most trailer jokes get.
>KH4
I'll let you know in 7 years when it comes out for the ps4.
>Loved KH1 as a kid
>Got the whole collections
>Just completed 1, great time
>Playing Chain of Memories, not awful but the card shit is a drag
Should I just just skip the side story games if I only want to hack and slash and don't really care about the story making no sense?
CoM is not a sidestory game. It's actually integral to the overall narrative, believe it or not.
I know they all are but like the story is still going to be silly weather it makes sense or not to me
>I know they all are
Re:Coded isn't outside of a single line in the final cutscene
That probably means it will matter down the road
It did matter, specifically for DDD. That was the whole point, to set up the reveal in that game
If you just assume the story is silly from the beginning then why even bother asking
If you're not feeling CoM, I'd say just read a story summary and move onto 2.
Unironically CoM it's the one KH game that I would say present an interesting mature story to both Sora and Riku.
just emulate the GBA version, the gameplay is better suited to the format it presents, it's not good in the 3D version that's in the collection.
BBS and DDD are worth your time, meanwhile.
>BBS and DDD are worth your time, meanwhile.
Don't fricking lie. The combat is atrocious, and the bosses are terribly boring when they're not being annoying as frick.
Its going to be horrible.
But at least with heart diving maybe we can see some worlds from the past returning. They need to stick to older movies and not pixar shit.
It'll do fine, bout as much or slightly less
>The story has become way too outlandish
Perhaps for the casual disney fan but it's average fare for a jrpg fan
>And the gameplay never remains consistent so that's really not inspiring hope
completely wrong. DDD was an improvement on BBS and KH3 improved on 0.2, which itself was an improvement on DDD.
I can agree on disney worlds but I really don't think that has anything to do with the era, people will see their favorite disney worlds and clap. And then you have people who tolerate it to get to the actual story.
>Hunchback never
>Black Cauldrin never
>Incredibles never
>Hunchback never
Uh anon? I know it wasn't under the best conditions but we got it.
>Black Cauldron
based
I love her design. Shame about everything else.
I just want a treasure planet world
I don't fricking care about Versus XIII.
The gameplay changing and evolving in different ways in each game is good, makes each game much more distinct. If they want to cap off the gameplay and homogenise it better make it multiplayer.
I don't have much interest in the series anymore because it's become primarily mobile focused and KH4 is based directly off of all the story points from those games that were also built into KH3. It's all become so moronic I'm just watching from the sidelines now instead of actually giving them any money. GG Square and Disney.
I feel like KH should have been equal Disney Worlds and Square worlds a long time ago instead of predominantly Disney worlds, now they have barely any material left to work with on the Disney side.
>it's become primarily mobile focused
Only the Antagonists are mobile focused.
All the Quadratum lore has appeared in III and Melody of Memory.
You're only missing Master of Masters and Lost Masters lore if you don't play UnionX. Still they are mentioned in III and make their return there, you could learn an abridged version of the story by watching Back Cover.
The only game that needs 100% knowledge of the mobile lore it's Missing Link and that's for the mobile audience anyway.
It's going to sell more since it will be guaranteed better than 3 with post-remind Osaka having improved a lot and showing that they can do great things.
>post-remind Osaka having improved a lot and showing that they can do great things.
This, plus the fact that production should be less of a clusterfrick than KH3's, what with not having to shitcan 2 whole years of development and learn a new engine from scratch and make the whole game in a reduced timeframe.
They know their way around Unreal Engine now, and they have assets and knowledge from KH3 that can carry over to 4. Even the plot should be more manageable and focused this time around without having a thousand character arcs to tie up and the time travel horse shit being done. Even the plot introduced in the mobile games is mostly its own arc, with the only relevant plot threads that would carry over to KH4 being: MoM and Luxu's whereabouts and intentions since the Keyblade War (mostly answered in 3 and ReMind), Skuld's fate (and only Skuld's since Brain and Ephemer are almost certainly dead and Strelitzia is in Quadratum) and the box's contents. Everything else was tied up by the end of UX and DR, and unless Nomura fricks up big time and introduces a bunch of new shit in Missing Link, KH4 should have a lot less to juggle plot-wise with the focus being Sora and Riku again against a new villain.
I'd honestly be surprised if it's worse than 3. They'd really have nothing else to blame but their own incompetence.
I'm actually really excited for the story in 4. Lots of people think KH's story has gone to shit these days, but I think everything Nomura did in 3 to hint at, reference or set up The Lost Master arc was excellent, intriguing, exciting and frankly some of the best KH in years.
It's a real shame that the best written kh in years is relegated to a phone game.
I was blown away how well integrated the disney shit was into the plot of dark road.
I hope for whats ro come.
I'm super hyped to see what they gonna do with the combat. RE:Mind was so good.
Remind didn't really change anything. Osaka has always known how to create bosses like the Remind bosses, 3 was easy on purpose because they wanted to make it possible for anyone to finish Nomura says as much in an interview
>Osaka has always known how to create bosses like the Remind bosses
So how come none of the bosses before then were good? On LV1 Crit KH3's story bosses go from cakewalks to obnoxious as frick. It's not even difficult, they just have so much bullshit you can't tank through, like Lump of Horror's DM and Sköll's DM which is literally just fricking random and has no safe spots from the splash damage that anyone has found. Grim Guardianess is particularly terrible, with those plant traps you can't actually deal with because your MP runs out instantly. I'm not even gonna go over how terrible BBS and DDD's bosses are.
LV1 in KH3 was pure suffering. The game was not designed with it in mind. If you're no PC, you can get a mod that adds the "Hidden Potential" ability from Keyblade formchanges, which essentially acts as a damage floor, like what KH2 had. Barring that, it's time to learn how to make good cuisine, because you're gonna need it!
>post-remind Osaka having improved a lot and showing that they can do great things.
great things like designing bosses with unblockable attacks which are only telegraphed after they hit you.
kh wont be good until we get tokyo team back, osaka shows at a mechanical level they dont understand why kh1 and kh2 worked
All I want is bosses that don't teleport all the time I fricking hate that every ReMind is an instant transmission fight it makes them all feel the same.
holy shit same man, i really hate how much they teleport. i get why they do it (the game mechanically HAS to make them teleport because spacing doesnt exist due to every fricking attack homing) but the fact theyll teleport and you airstep to them only to teleport away is inexcusable. the game is so focused on making you play one specific way only that every re:mind fight just becomes frustrating if you've played literally any other video game
And it's not like I don't understand that the bosses need movement options to keep up with the player's expanded moveset but just having them all phase out of existence and phase back in is just lame compared to Demyx's waterjet move, Xaldin's air dragon or Roxas' reversals.
This is really shown off with the differences between the Dark Riku fights in 1 and ReMind. In 1 it's a straight sword duel that punishes you for mindlessly attacking and you have to read Riku's movements to land an attack like actual fencing. The only time he teleports is during his DM in which he's invincible anyway.
Whereas in ReMind he is constantly teleporting across the arena until he's done with his attack and then you can hit him.
Could you imagine how good that fight could be if Riku just danced around you and punished you for whiffing hits?
The worst thing is that they do seem to understand that was the point behind the fight in 1 because of the part of the ReMind fight that has him blocking your attacks with Dark Barrier but they are so obsessed with overwhelming the player with visual clutter they just can't have a simple and clean fight.
>but they are so obsessed with overwhelming the player with visual clutter they just can't have a simple and clean fight.
this is also a big problem i have with re:mind, its so fricking visually busy. compare to kh2, which is very flashy and all, but its extremely readable. you're able to gauge every attack an enemy is doing ahead of time because the screen isnt littered with a million fricking particles, glowing effects, circles and whatever else. the dark riku fight is near epileptic, theres so much fricking nonsense happening at all times that it makes the relatively normal fight extremely difficult. and its only because it actively hurts to look at for long periods of time. i find myself walking away from data fights in 3 taking long blinks because they just dry my eyes out from all the bright shit on screen.
osaka team needs to learn less is more. especially in fricking character action games, where readability is priority number one.
That honestly just sounds like a you problem.
I never had any issues with seeing what's going on.
probably but its still a clusterfrick visually
I don't see how it is much more of clusterfrick than Roxas spamming light magic with his attacks, zexions book world or larxene's datafight.
those fights are readable and kh3s aren't. kh3 is really bright, like really fricking bright. almost every attack does some projectile or some effect that comes out extremely bright and will often cover attacks or whatnot. combine this with enemy attacks also being extremely bright and the camera being very pulled back and you get a relatively unreadable battle.
its hard to illustrate it through pictures so i wont even try, but kh3 in motion is often really hard to read because theres just so much shit happening at once.
roxas fight with the lights are just the lights as effects. nothing else. keeps it nice and readable, makes hitboxes seem very consistent and avoidable. thats how i would sum up the difference
I beat all the datafights and never did I think the fight was unreadable.
I also beat all the data fights and thought numerous times through them they were borderline unreadable.
Then honestly it's the first time I've heard anyone complain about that.
>Then honestly it's the first time I've heard anyone complain about that.
i wouldn't be too shocked to hear that in all honesty. a lot of fans are REALLY lenient on Re:Mind, and generally consider it to be the pinnacle of kingdom hearts combat (for whatever reason).
if you like it more power to you, but it's definitely got it's flaws and it's important to point them out. unfortunately most people will just say you're nostalgia blinded if you do so or whatever. we'll see how osaka moves forward from now on with the exceptionally strong fan feedback. i hope they dont take away that the bad stuff is actually good (bosses constantly teleporting, 30 second long dms, unblockable attacks coming from off screen, random unblockable attacks)
All the unblockable Attacks are literally color coded.
yeah after you get hit by them lol
So you don't know what you're talking about
Evidently you don't because there are numerous bosses with numerous attacks in which the red circle only appears after being hit by the attack.
Pay better attention next time
I've paid plenty of attention, the red circles only appear for certain attacks AFTER being hit by them.
>those fights are readable and kh3s aren't.
What? No they're not. One of the biggest issues of KH2 is how small the data combat arenas are. Larxene is a huge clusterfrick of visual noise in KH2 while she is very readable in CoM and KH3 due to the camera staying far back and the arena leaving you more room
Pretty funny that despite the camera being further zoomed out we still have bosses that will attack from off screen. Why this is not priority one to prevent I could only imagine.
This, its fricking lame as shit every fight in Remind is the same damn thing
>KH2FM
>Every bonus boss fights differently from each other while still being fun and challenging and most importantly. The player can still hit them if they're good
>Remind
>Oh wow, another super duper teleportation segment. I wonder if I can finally hit them when it ends
I've long accepted we will never get Tokyo back.
BBS really fricked up the series cause Osaka used that as the basis for all future games
KH3 was a good step but they seriously need to go back and realize why people love 1 and 2
Will they ever be able to match KH2FM?
They already surpassed it with ReMind.
I predict KH4 will be a KH2-tier game at launch (not 2FM-tier)
It maybe wont be quite the best game in the series, but people will say its a big improvement on KH3 at launch and the game will feel like they have taken feedback seriously.
If the Disney world level design is as good as 1 or 3 and the pacing is better than 3 and the ending is like 2’s ending, it will be better than vanilla 2.
>3
>level design is as good
They brought back the exploration after 17 years, good enough for me. And you shouldn’t talk when Aqua’s game has even worse level design than 2.
Why did they never port Recoded to consoles? Isn't it like the best Osaka team game by far before 3 ReMind?
Too much effort to convert a DS game to normal console maybe?
ReCoded was made by H.A.N.D, same that worked on TWEWY and NEO:TWEWY, not Osaka team,
It’s going to be the sequels. It’s unironically ogre
>It’s going to be the sequels
That's a fricking rock and you and I both know it
Is it true that apartment is supposed to be our hub or comfy zone we keep returning to? It's a soulless white chamber for bugs, I get that Japs think that's an acceptable way to live but it's fricking soulless and the exact opposite of comfy.
Only buying KH4 if they have a Sleepy Hollow world that perfectly captures the fall / Halloween atmosphere. Disney have no good movies left.
Unironically Sora's bedroom from KH1 concept art is peak comfy even if a bit childish to the audience who is now older.
But still, it's lived in and tells the story of who this kid is. Peak show, don't tell.
Nomura written out the fan favorite characters after awkwardly bringing them back in favor of literally whos from mobileshit. No one's going to like this game and it sure won't bring those who dropped KH after 3.

Simple as.
>Good gameplay
It's not even consistent between entries.
Okay but there are still several KH games with good even great gameplay.
1, 2, Recoded, and 3(though I don’t like it). That’s 4 out of 13ish games
>Good gameplay
Believe it or not people do actually like running around in Disney worlds and fighting along side Donald and Goofy.
KH4 has absolutely no legs outside of the hardcore followers of the series. Inbetween looking like it's going to set up another fricking 5 game spanning arc at the very least and poisoning the fricking well hard.
They should've ended it clean at 3
Missing Link will EoS in 12 months and it's supposed to stoke hype for KH4. It seriously looks like the biggest piece of shit in this franchise so far.
The series has finally been ported to everything. KH4 will sell more than 3
I just hope KH4 has multiple fully playable characters. Getting to play as Riku in Quadratum trying to find Sora with a full moveset and level ups and all that shit would be great.
The “oh you can play as a different character for like two boss fights and their movesets suck” shit KH3 did was lame.
I've seen a lot of people theorize about some of the game being split between Sora and whoever is trying to find him.
That’d be cool. I’d also like for Kairi to be playable since her Remind moveset was definitely the most fun out of all the alt playable characters
She wasn't really interesting outside of the gap closer she has. Her Situation Commands were extremely boring and her Team Attack with Sora didn't come close to being half as good as Session. Roxas at least has a cool dodge/dash and Reversal, and a Light magic Situation Command which is rarely used on playable characters.
Yeah Roxas was pretty fun too but his combo felt a bit clunky to me. Reversal is always fun
I’d like him to be playable again but I don’t see him having much of a role in 4
This is why Days needs a remake.
Frick days and frick xion.
The less time wasted on it the better.
Well frick you too, chief.
>nomura ended kh3 with verum rex shit
>openly say in an interview he went with KH4 instead of verum rex
Birth by Sleep was my last Kingdom Hearts game, after that it felt to much like a kiddies game to enjoy any further
If it has Marvel and Star Wars shit in it, it'll unironically be the best selling KH game of all time.
If we don’t get a TWEWY world in 4 I will be very disappointed
Can't even be excited for 4 cause sora's model looks stupid. The art direction looks the worse its ever been.
Nomura literally said he won't look like that the whole game.
>this is the grand finale of the Xehanort arc
>people have been waiting for this big conclusion for over a decade
>we revived everybody so we can have this big clash
>just kidding, not only Xehanort gets away with everything but he is still around
>check out the next chapter of this story which is in a Japanese exclusive mobile game
KHgays even existing at all in the west baffles me at this point. Must be the sunken cost fallacy.
As long as the gameplay seems good I will get it. If ReMind is anything to go by it will be very good.
I really hope they keep airstep, it’s the most fun part of 3’s combat to me and it worked really well in the remind super bosses
I like airstep too, but I have to admit it did feel a bit overpowered. Zipping great distances came in handy for traversal (like getting back to the PotC ship easy) but being able to get to any enemy with no regard for spacing (especially with no cost from the shotlock meter) did seem a bit strong.
The Keychain grapple we saw in the trailer might end up outright replacing it, but if they let you do some cool stuff and let you upgrade the range as you progress, I'd be happy. Imagine if most enemies had some sort of opening where Sora could grapple to them and perform a unique action. Think Nero's buster. https://youtu.be/XOb55tXDIQY?t=69
Could even incorporate stealing enemy weapons. That'd be pretty cool.
Sora incorporating more keyblade transformations like that grappling hook would be a cool direction to go in with the combat in KH4. I’d be happy with less different form stuff if he had a way more varied base moveset. Weapon stealing could be really fun tooz
I'm really excited for 4's gameplay. ReMind and the patches felt like Osaka team really learned a lot and took feedback very seriously. They improved it so much.
Now they're making something fresh from the ground up rather than improving something arguably quite flawed.
Nomura even talked how some specific gameplay elements from 2 would return, they werent on 3 because people complained as frick about them when kh2 released, so 3 didnt have it
>Nomura even talked how some specific gameplay elements from 2 would return, they werent on 3 because people complained as frick about them when kh2 released, so 3 didnt have it
It is funny how now people consider kh2 the pinacle of action combat, but forget how people whined about many things, this is why kh3 went to another route at first
Gamers are a bunch of mfs
This is why when miyazaki says that he doesnt hear any feedback about his games he is right
Miyazaki is stupid and big dumbo.
He is right tho, why would you hear a blob of casual players that most of the time dont even know what they want
Be perceptive, play your own game and pick out criticisms. Just don't be a brainlet.
Miyazaki himself massively dumbed down, casualized, appealed to the masses by following trends and whats popular with Elden Ring
You can say from games are casualized now, but i think that if you see the industry as a whole they are probably one of the only companies that dont treat their players as if they are brainless morons
Look how every developer designs their games now
I don't think it's every developer. Just some very high profile AAA which makes it seem like it's a lot, but it's really not.
There's really only few devs that are as egregious about handholding and treating the players like single-digit iq morons as Santa Monica.
Almost all of them do that, bro
This is why just the fact of elden ring not having an ui that points to where the player should go next was so polemic last year
I think from is extremelly essential for the industry because they show how games dont need to be dumbed down to achieve success
I don't agree.
I think Elden Ring is massively dumbed down, and they achieved great success because of it as they managed to appeal to a far wider playerbase.
Elden ring is only dumbed down if you use hardcore niche games as parameter, no game that requires that much focus sells that much
Only generic shit like assassisns creed with 10 !!!!!! simbols on your map
I doubt any AAA developer would make any first boss as hard as margit, they just dont have any courage to do that
No, Elden Ring is dumbed down when you compare it to previous From Souls games.
Nah, the difference is because you're playing those games for 10 years now, this is why every bossfight has delayed attacks to make them harder, because if not they would be even easier
There's more to dumbing things down than boss fights.
Eg. terrible bland empty yet bloated open world with no level design and boring encounters because open world is popular.
Damn i kinda disagree with everything you said but then this would deviate too much from the topic of this thread, so it is fine
>You can say from games are casualized now
not really. DaS1 is far easier than elden ring.
I was mostly talking about the other guy's opinion, i dont think ER is casualized at all, the game just gives you a lot of options like every open world game should do
Casualization =//= difficulty
Because most people only think of 2's boss fights and forget that the rest of the game is dogshit. Regular combat is never fun in KH2. Also the best bosses are al exclusive to a remix that touched up criticism the game received.
yeah. The animations in KH3 definitely just felt sloppier than in KH2 but with dual form the animations were pretty slick.
It would be cool if its eased in to the action easily but KH3 was already bloated with gimmicky shit that ruined the core gameplay I think they should take a step off the gimmicks
>Star Wars Keyblade
>It's literally just a normal lightsaber
Who even cares? KH games will continue on. I like the series so I'll still follow it. Hopefully it does become unpopular so I can enjoy it in peace.
Cringe post.
cope sheep.
Nomura-san, put the muppets in the game, give Kermit a kleyblade.
>still doing sora arch with mobile shit dark seekers
Fricking YAAAAWN
Can’t wait for the third Xigbar data fight (now featuring a keyblade!)
.OH WOW I CANT WAIT TO PLAY KINDOM HEARTS

fricking bullshit
Stop posting
Dont reply, he is the type of dude who roams on these boards seeking (you)s because he is empty
imagine pointlessly whining and being in this thread when you hate the games
absolute pencil-neck mental illness
What in the frick is this?
One of Xehanort's friends went on a school shooting and killed all the other students, including Xehanort's friends. So their teacher held him down and Xehanort executed him, as seen there. Xehanort never really got over this, and lost his previous cheerful attitude and became deeply bitter because of it.
Do you think Luxu wielding Gazing Eye is more powerful than Xehanort?
For sure, Xigbar is already strong as frick and he’s presumably been holding back
Reminder that this is a rock and Star Wars is not happening
That's a weird ass looking rock if so. Looks absolutely nothing like all the other rocks.
I think this is just big cope.
That's a rock.
What kind of rock looks like that lmao
its not a rock but its also not starwars
Dude, you add this "rock" in a forest that is present in every star wars media, then also consider how Star Wars is doing every type of spinoff possible...
Even anime anthology episodes
Im really curious on how kh would adapt movies with specific animation styles, this is why 100 acre world is interesting
Imagine an adaptation of guilhermo del toro's pinocchio, it uses stop motion
>Imagine an adaptation of guilhermo del toro's pinocchio, it uses stop motion
That's a Netflix production, it has nothing to do with Disney
I know, im just thinking if disney has some type of animation this different to adapt nowadays
Sadly disney's animation is homogenized as frick, every character looks the same
Maybe this is why nomura wants to adapt the live action ips, animation looks too similar to each other now
KH's story will never improve if it doesn't move on from Sora. KH3 would have been better if it concluded Sora's story.
Wrong.
>Singlehandedly revived the franchise
Yozora's arc has lots of potentially, hopefully Nomura doesn't squander it
Who the frick is even Yozora? Everything about this franchise is so odd to me. Wasn't the first one a crossover between Disney and Final Fantasy? Where did all these edgy characters come from?
>Where did all these edgy characters come from?
???
>smug, overconfident rival
>edgy
He gets "edgy" when he literally turns into a different character
Why do people already love this homosexual? He's going to be yet another underdeveloped edgelord.
If he gives us more kino bossfights im all in
Assuming that Quadratum and Yozora are actually a recontextualization of ideas from what was once VSXIII then it really does have incredible potential.
Sora and Strelitzia
I fricking love Kingdom Hearts vros. I'm really excited for 4, I think it will be great!
I am replaying the series right now. Almost finished with 1.
I wonder what characters are even going to be relevant in 4
Lauriam (his sister is in the game), Elrena, Demyx and Luxord probably will be because two of them were in Union X and Xemnas talked about some ancient keyblade stuff with all of them. Ventus might also be relevant since he was in Union X too. Riku and Kairi will obviously be important too, we’ve already seen Riku in Quadratum in Remind’s post credits scene and Kairi had a whole game setting up stuff in KH4.
Outside of them though I don’t see many other characters having much to do. Like what do Roxas and Terra have to do in 4?
Well, Terra, Ventus and Aqua went to the Dark World right? And Xion, Roxas and Axel are just chilling in Twilight Town with Saix I think.
I hope they don't try and make all these characters relevant again, especially in 4.
I think they will probably come into the story in some small part at some point, since there may be some setup with Ventus, Aqua and Terra going to the Dark World. And Vanitas inside Ventus may play a role as well.
I don't really see what there is for Xion, Roxas and Axel to do tbh.
I kinda want to see Xion and Roxas again because I like those characters, but I don't care for Axel anymore.
Square has been on a downward spiral for years, but after KH3 and the shitty FF7 remake, that escalated to a free fall.
Enter, the final boss of the first game in the Lost Master arc
Are the lost masters even going to be proper antagonists? I don’t know much about all the mobile games.
>disney now owns fox
hank hill needs to be in KH4
>tfw I will never again be 13 years old experiencing the opening of KH1 ever again
Hurts just a little.
Hurts a lot.
>now that the franchise is in free fall?
KH3 sold better than every other KH game.
I agree that KH3 was kind of lame, but don't act like the series is dead/dying as a result.
How many units sold is not a reliable indicator of quality
Is yozora even edgelord? like, he doesnt talk much
He is just serious, i dont get when people say he is a edgelord
He arrives and tells sora "so, it seems like i have to frick you up and i will do it"
Nothing wrong with that
Look at this guy and tell me he doesn't scream "edgy homosexual".
So you are basing it only because of design, not how he acts
He is literally taking his form from a videogame in the kh world
Honestly if this was a different series with great character writing things would be different and he may have the potential to be an enduring character. Even Marie from Persona 4 Golden could've been likeable.
However KH if fricking horrible and character writing with just about everyone being unlikable and underdeveloped yet more and more being shoved into your face every second.
I'll be honest when people get mad because "heart" doesnt means something literal in a disney game i always find funny, so a lot of the critique about kh's writting makes me wonder if that person really played the games or is just parroting random opinions
And i wont get mad or judge any character without him having any meaningful interaction
At this point yozora feels like the most grounded character of the whole series
>Heart
Too bad the series has become surprisingly cynical right now
If star wars is in this shit and Sora has a lightsaber keyblade, this shit is gonna sell like fricking crack,
I'm genuinely enjoying KH3, although I'm only at the frozen world after doing Monstropolis first, like any reasonable person. I'm doing critical for my first run with the MP regen EZ cheat on, vitality start since MP means nothing to me. What worlds could they even do for 4 with how shit Disneys movies have been? I'm assuming there will be more pixar worlds to pad them out.
>Star wars world
>probably bring back one or two old worlds we haven't been to since KH1, remastered and fleshed out after sequels released, like Aladdin, king of thieves, or another lion king
>wreck it ralph world
>incredibles
>marvel world
Who knows.
It’s going to be that piece of shit coming this year and you know it.
Disney is going to let that feminist c**t kill him off in the new movie.
I hadn't even heard of a new movie coming out, and if I'm being honest, I probably don't want to. Anything nuDisney puts out is garbage, plain and simple and clean.
>Nu-Disney is a cynical shell of it's former self
>Nu-KH is a cynical shell of it's former self
Pottery
Do you have the mod that gives you remind abilities throughout the game? If not I heavily recommend it, not sure if it works on a halfway complete playthrough though.
this would ship 200 million copies
>Muppet Sora
>Keyblade called "Rainbow Connection"
I'd pay double price
The problem with 3 is that it blew its load at the start of the game and never recovered. Climbing Mt. Olympus to fight Rock Titan and then riding a magical rollarcoaster through a storming night sky while The Deep End played was pure fricking magic and literally nothing else in the game had an impact remotely as strong.
Like, we know Star Wars is in, but which other Live Action IP will KH use?
Avengers?
The Santa Clause.
>Like, we know Star Wars is in, but which other Live Action IP will KH use?
>Avengers?
This is something i often think about because which live action is insane enough and has enemies strong to the point of you being able to put sora to fight them
Indiana jones is cool but you cant make sora whack random guys
>Indiana jones is cool but you cant make sora whack random guys
Just make him fight the Nazis
would be funny as frick but i dont think nomura will make sora beat the shit out of nazis
>whack random guys
It's fine, they're nazis.
Let's just hope Donald doesn't turn against the party.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walt_Disney_Pictures_films
>Mary Poppins
>Indiana Jones
>Spider-Man
>Honey I Shrunk The Kids
>Inspector Gadget
>Return to Oz
> the fourth or fifth Pirates movie
>Enchanted
>High School Musical
>The Black Holes
>Hocus Pocus
I really would enjoy HSM in the style of KH2 Atlantica but some people had to be fans about that shit.
Enchanted, Spidey, HSM, and Inspector Gadget have potentials, but I am not sure how they gonna tackle Spidey's crazy mobility if he's gonna be in.
Wake me up when Riku becomes cool again
Strelitzia a cute but I thought she's already double dead like 3000 years ago
When you die in Kingdom Hearts but really don’t want to you get sent to modern day Tokyo, Japan seemingly
Nah, sora was sent to shibuya because he also broke some fundamental laws, not just because he died
So there is also some reason to why strelitzia is there
>When reality can't cope with your sheer disregard for the natural order and it's only recourse is to eject you into another plane of existence
I really do love the amount of no fricks that Sora gives
I like how he shows pretty much no hesitation even after hearing that
Sora is great
>Universe: "There is one mf bringing people back from death, he is too dangerous to stay here, lets throw this dude on another place"
Oh so it's that one end in Drakenguard that led to the Nier universe?
Yeah, sora breaks some severe rules by bringing kairi back, so the price for that is him being banished to the shadow realm
>The shadow realm is the real world
Kek
Im sure there is no worse place to go when you're someone that lives in the kh world
Its true at least can't blame KH for that
Yep, just like the end od Rebuild of Evangelion.
Sora is banished to be a salaryman with a receeding hairline and be with worst girl (who is this in KH I wonder).
oh good the people who don't like kingdom hearts moved to another thread
I like when they apparently hate and dont care about the franchise but cant stop talking how bad it is on these threads
I think any opinion is fine, but when they just talk how shit the series is now but cant leave is funny
I want to lick her armpits and eat her thights
>"Holy Crap LoisI This reminds me of the time I met He-Man!"
I really like Sora’s design in 4, I want to see how it looks in the normal KH artstyle outside of one small piece of artwork
I want to believe in KH4 but I'm still slightly skeptical even after Re:Mind, I need to see more.
KH4 is already dead.
Every new Disney movie has bombed to hell. No one wants the new movie worlds, Nor the old same worlds. KH should have ended with 3.
>3
You mean 2 right?
I was 13 when KH1 came out.
30 when KH3 came out.
I don't have another """trilogy""" in me, man.
This next story arch of KH needs to be tightly focused and not scattered across every console under the sun.
But I know Nomura won't be able to help himself.
>subtlety
In truth kh was always very fast in releasing games, the problem was more how the gap between 2 and 3 was massive and square also had engine issues, so the better option was to release "side" games while they couldnt make kh3
Those teams always worked at least with 2 games at the same time
KHXIII will come out the day after you die
People who talk that disney doesnt influence these games' plot are crazy
The mobile games have better and more interesting plots than the mainline games because they have more freedom
They talk about some themes with subtlety, how even love can be a "false light". Because if love generates negative feelings and evil actions it is darkness
Would you ever entertain the idea of having Sora explore non Disney movies like say Dreamworks?
I'd say yes entirely on the basis that I can't see Dreamworks having the same stranglehold on their IPs as Disney. They'd be able to do more with their characters.
Only if its Shrek, Sinbad, or the Penguins of Madagascar.
I just want to see the gameplay get better. Yeah, I enjoy the bumblefrick story and watching Nomura jack off on the screen, it's funny and all, but after KH3 I just want to see the gameplay bounce back. Remind was a good start, it did have fun boss fights, but the raw gameplay systems themselves need just a bit more polish (and maybe a bit less bloat overall). Particularly in the magic department.
Also, a personal request. I pray to god that they differentiate air combos and ground combos again. That shit infuriated me as much as the shitty magic did in KH3. It wasn't even a problem in the transformations, but the base form suffered from it. Why? Why make the Sora you use most often to feel even more homogenized? Such a baffling decision.
On a more positive note, I want to actually praise the Keyblade Transformations. They were for the most part a poor man's Drives but their worst crime is being poorly explained. The different forms themselves (Guardian, Strike, Element, Blitz alongside the specialized Second/Ultimate/Double) being focused on the abilities he gets was great but god help you if you want to find out the specifics in game. If there were more freedom between "forms" and "weapons" alongside being better explained, I believe it would have been damn near equal to Drives.
Keyblade Formchanges suffer from fundamental design issues with the combat in KH3. A lot of Formchanges have completely dogshit combos and finish commands, like Counter Shield, so it becomes an extremely boring form where you wait for opportunities to guard and counter and ignore everything else. Mirage Staff has a similar problem where the combos and finisher are terrible but the afterimage gimmick is overtuned and just shreds enemies and builds gauge like crazy. Unique Shotlocks added a bit to them but never did that much. Most are simply invincible damage buttons with no other use.
>like Counter Shield
You use countershield exclusively for it's revenge counter attack which is one of the best attacks in the game.
It's like complaining about wisdom form being shit, because your base form combo is better than the shoot command when you should use wisdom form for it's magic.
Yes, but the forms were always available so long as you kept your party alive, so the fact they each had unique tactical options that were sometimes niche or fell off lategame was fine. Formchanges locking you into a keyblade as well as forcing you to build the meter instead of being a resource you spent means you can't be judicious with it and control the pace of the fight.
>Formchanges locking you into a keyblade
You know you can switch keyblades right?
Yeah, I know you can have three queued up and switch between them but it never felt particularly fluid to me. None of KH3's combat ever clicked the way KH2's did. Might be I need to give it another more serious shot but overall I felt it was a step backwards.
That's fair, and I do agree some of the transformations, if not arguably most of them, need an overhaul or at least some rebalancing to make them less shit, but CONCEPTUALLY I really enjoy the forms in addition to the transformations.
In a perfect world, forms would be their own Drive-like system, giving Sora a particular focus on a certain aspect (i.e. Element/Magic, Blitz/Mobility, Strike/Strength, Guardian/Defense) where the Transformations would be layered on top, allowing you to mix them and match them. For example, instead of Blitz/Skates or Element/Guns you could have Strike/Skates or Element/Shield and all the abilities that came with them. The limiter here being that a form persists beyond Keyblade Swaps, so if you're speccing into something, you're locked into it unless you choose to leave it, making Transformations a moveset modifier over a tactical modifier.
Granted, this is all without a whole lot of thought, I can't guarantee the system would be great, I'm just spitballing ideas that sound fun and have more Risk/Reward to them rather than just "Here's your transformation, here's it's gimmicks, go crazy."
>Kairi is in a coma 80% of the first game
>Kairi gets kidnapped and does nothing in the second game
>Kairi gets kidnapped, does nothing and dies in the third game
What’s the purpose of this character
I'm not asking for her to be a girlboss but her being kidnapped or in a coma on top of Sora and Riku being separated yet again is tiring
like frick did she even interact with Riku in KH3 because I cant remember
I really don’t know why she got a keyblade if the only thing of worth she does since the beginning is using her princess powers
>reaction commands return
kino is back on the menu
Wasn't there a leak last month about Oswald being the new villain
>Hurrr Formchanges suck
Sounds like skill issue
>legitimate criticism is actually just moron-babble
>reading comprehension
I'm not even the guy you're allegedly quoting, but this is a low quality post if I've ever seen one. I enjoyed KH3's combat system, including the formchanges, but I wouldn't say they weren't riddled with problems and missed potential.
The keyblade master armors from BBS were so cool. Why can't we just get those as a devil trigger or something?
Drive Forms are Devil Trigger.
Yeah but a change of cloth colors is boring. I want to HENSHIN.
KH4 will probably do mildly well.
How come there was never a KH3 final mix?
Dlc was that
Because it is a reboot and has a different look to it, I think IV's sales will be higher than III's and do a lot better. People don't pay attention to the minutiae of highs and lows in a franchise, obsessive fans do that, people only pay attention to what's recently been released and IV will look new and interesting. Doesn't matter that autists will be screeching bloody murder about how it's fricking dumb, it's fricking bad, it's bad, people will buy a game if it's marketed well and if it looks good.
Will Riku frick Namine?
>the mouse will stop bankrolling Kingdom Hearts after KH4 due to multiple flops and Disney+ losing money
>Square Enix will have had consecutive years releasing shovelware no one buys and edge closer to bankruptcy
Two birds with one stone, kek. Can't wait for KH to get axed.
What games should be played or watched?
Probably not as much as a freefall as Flopspoken which will bomb
Its definitely not an instant buy for me, cuz good grief, they fricked up on 3 and the franchise arcs finale. Almost like Namura was like "WAIT! New idea, lets wrap this one up"
But if it looks acceptable, I'll pick it up. Sincerely hope they realize 2 is the best gameplay and take a few pages from it, instead of the slidey bouncy theme park crap from 3.
I think Nomura's been watching/consuming too much mystery drama that he thinks dangling the carrot every fricking time will work. He didn't seem to notice that there's a limit to that. Even horses at some point will kick your ass if you dangle the carrot for way too long. I think this is the issue with KH post 2. He tried to add in these new story elements hoping that it will tie in to the bigger narrative but fails horribly at ending each and everyone of it because the story of KH has to also account of the Disney films they in. While also creating a new carrot for people to chase. Like just end the story of the 3 masters and Xehanort, and then kill off Sora just so his adventure can continue. Only then you introduce the mystery box and the dudes in animal mask and MoM. What Nomura is doing, is like trying to tell Ash's potential adventure in Johto while also trying to tell about his journey in Kanto, while also adding bits about Darkrai. Shit just gets messy as frick.
In regards to this series, which I loved, I need to say it. I gaslit myself into enjoying everything after days.
>inb4 days was crap
It was, but it had the same vibes as 1, with characters I liked from 2, and that was enough. The plot was mysterious, but not yet overcomplicated. The BBS happened, which was kinda meh but I was like "its KH, i still like it"
Same with DDD, which had a couple Kino moments and let me play as riku again, which spoke to the edgy 14 yo i used to be. Then 3 happened, they tried to hard to explain crap, did it in the worst way... and now I feel like the only games I really see soul in are 1, com (original, re:chain can suck a dick), 2 and days. I did kinda enjoy the movie with the MoM, but idk if that plot thread is gonna be enough to bring it back to good form.
But I can still hope, I guess.
Frick Days, Xion ruined the story and tripled the amount of trannies in the fanbase
My dude, the only thing that game bred was yaoi fangirls. I cant remember a single troony subculture for the game, but I do remember livejournal and fanfiction.net being full of yaoi. Of course they showed up eventually, autistic hobbies attract them (look at the retro programming scene), but it was not because of days.
Search “Xion is trans”
Kekxas, gayxel and Xheon ruined everything
They think everyone is trans.
Just look at modern Ranma fans.
Uh no, literally Xion is the only character with troony arguments
My point is that of course they found a character to call trans. Just like they call Samus and Ranma trans. That doesnt mean that chatacter brought them into being. This trans crap in fandom is pretty new to the wider internet. Back in the day, you kinda had to search for it. Gay stuff tho, thats always been a thing. Thank the star trek nerds.
god i love sora yaoi doujins
Not knocking it, but as a young teen, I just wanted one... ONE doujin featuring straight sex. Closest we ever got was a one od strip of sora acting like a frat bro while stripping a hesitant Kairi, while a concerned goofy is told by donald to "ignore that and get back to sucking"
Man, good times. Good times.
The only thing left would be to release the series on Steam. Should give it a little boost. In general, Square should try to get out of Epic's exclusivity deal ASAP.
Square's games tend to sell well (if they actually advertise them) so I do not get the epic exclusivity shit, especially for big games like KH too.
Not releasing the KH collections on Steam is fricking moronic.
I was a big fan of the games in 1 and 2, but 3 was so painfully bad that I could not even stomach playing through the damn thing. I could feel my own soul deteriorating the more I tried to get through that painful slog. That being said, still a fan of that series as I knew it back then. If they actually want to make a sequel to that series this time, I'll buy it. Otherwise I'm content totally ignoring whatever batshit nonsense they are trying to push there.
Pretty hard. I can't wait to see FF7R2 bomb as well now that the consumer ignorance no longer exists.
>sora can go toe to toe with sephiroth
so is he a moonbuster then?
I liked kh3.
You have great taste
Same.
The only way you can get most threads going on Ganker is with doomposting, especially for KH since most anons played like two games when they were kids at most.
>epic store exclusive
literally asking people to pirate it.
It depends entirely on what the Disney Worlds are.
