After the constant cutting corners, shitty products Gen after Gen, etc. Why haven't you put the franchise down?

I appreciate the games and don't fine they are lazy, just that the genre is incredibly demanding
Comparing pokemon to any other creature collection should make it obvious
they are drip feeding the content i’ve always wanted (on a tv console, open world, open world multiplayer), but as of two months ago i’m officially on the wrong side of my 20s and am not sure how much more caring i have in me
Dude, I'm 33, you're fine.
>YOU CAN'T have a nice day BECAUSE....WELL....UM......BECAUSE GOSH DIDDLY DANGNABBIT YOU JUST FRICKIN CAN'T OKAY
Yes. That is correct. You WILL live anon.
Please be nice to yourself anon. I lost my younger sister because she also reached a low point in her 20s. Don't meet the same fate.
I only play Showdown because the gameplay still hasn't really been replicated elsewhere
I stopped caring a long time ago anon
The only reason I come to this board is because I still find it incredibly funny to start flamewars and shitposting. Its easier than pretty much every other board, the underages here are insanely easy to rile up
>you liked franchise that [did thing it always did]? why haven't you put it down after it [continued to do thing it always did]?
The 3D generation helped me understand these games were never good, but can always get worse. I’ve broken free of my Pokemania brand zombie programming. There are still good romhacks, fangames, and tons of porn. The official products are all dogshit and not worth even pirating.
>3D games bad
>reskin of gen 3 but bloated with a bunch of shit from the 3D games good
Sounds like you're just the same shit eating moron you always were.
It’s free 😉
I did 15 years ago, picked it back up again with Legends: Arceus because my mum couldn't play it and I offered to complete the dex and send her the pokémon. Actually enjoyed it and I'm gonna play Scarlet once it's out.
Autism and an interest in critter designs. I long accepted that the games are mid at best so I just play them casually
That's sweet anon
I'm still wondering. I know its gonna be shit so I don't have high expectations. I do look forward to the multiplayer side of SV, looks like a lot of fun with my friends
I'm still enjoying the competitive aspect of the games so until that's no longer the case I'll continue to play this game for children.
I liked all the games until SM. Took a break after that. Came back with PLA, and looking forward to other similar games.
Series is not that terrible. Doomers should probably find other hobbies to kill time with.
Idk I just like Pokémon simple as
Because i'm playing Explorers of Sky for the hundredth time and never get tired of it
I haven't spent a single penny on them, so im happy
I still enjoy some of the side games and competitive.
I’ve dropped everything else though. I dont think I’m even going to bother with the main story in SV based on what I’ve seen in the trailers.
I did OP. Gen 6 was the start of my dissatisfaction with the franchise and SwSh was the breaking point for me. I'm actually quite glad because it made me go searching else where for better games, which in turn set me down a path of (mostly) indie game binges which is some of the most fun I've had with video games in such a long time.
I just come here to shitpost, that's it. If I am to touch a Pokemon game its Gens 1-5 or romhacks. Everything else can frick off.
I did. Gen 5 was the first time this series went to shit. I just play romhacks of gen 3 now.
For my niche husbandos only
Because I'm not a cynical homosexual and am still able to have fun with the games.
Except BDSP. That was a genuinely awful experience.
I have sort of. I like the world Pokemon builds up, there's so much flexibility with all of the Pokemon. It lets me tool fantastic worlds around it.
too busy having fun worldbuilding for comics and fanfic, sorry m8
would've said I was also here for the new designs but since gen 7 I've tuned out of those lol
now I'm just excited to see how many ways I can explain aura as a concept
We're all just here to fap to the pokegirls
Because I can, do, and currently am, replaying my favorites. Pokemon didn't always suck. Go back and replay your favorite game Black person.
I can still enjoy the games by playing fan mods/hacks which objectively make the games better. It's the lazy, greedy corporate side of TPC and Game Freak I've fallen out of love with, not Pokemon itself.
Free game no b***hing.
Already did years ago. It helps that I was never obsessed with it in the first place and always had other stuff I liked better.
I'm perfectly content playing games from before gen 7. I don't have the time I used to as a little shit so I won't run out of games for years to come as I work backwards. Currently 205 hours into B2W2 and probably have a good 50-75 hours of content/few months of periodic play left.
I just had a hard time enjoying gen 7 because while I like a lot of what it had to offer, Alola felt puddle-deep. The simplified geography and the straight line routes/caves are a big part. I might just be a nostalgiagay, but I come to Pokémon to live in a little classic RPG graph paper world with random encounters and everything else people think is "outdated". That was the real reason I didn't buy SnS.
Because my brain literally developed around the structure of pokemon. I played pokemon starting from the age of 4 and I didnt even play another video game until I was 10. It is the most familiar structure and has etched itself into my DNA. I fricking hate it. I hate this shitty cashcow franchise and I can only play gens 2 through 5
The games are still fun to me and will remain that so long as they have the base amount of content. Pokemon uniquely offers
- The variety of units
- The depth/breadth of the battle system
- The permanence offered by cross-game transfer
- The general chill mood of mindless grinds but also higher stakes with online battles
- The frickhuge community
No other game series would fill this position. No other game will let me have the same little creature from when I was 14 with me now I'm 30 across four generations of consoles while having dumb shit like shinies to hunt/grind for, online competitive battles, and fifty fricking layers to the battle system to make theory crafting this fun.
Of course I have my complaints about the games, which I've discussed plenty with people. These games have plenty to criticize. But as long as a Pokemon game has a story, online battles, shinies, and some cute shit to do, I'll probably still get 100 - 200 hours out of it at least.
The only way I see myself stopping is if they completely drop all form of transferring Pokemon to new games and/or permanently drop the mainline battle system.
