You can finish most arcadey games in less than one hour if you know what you are doing but then there are also great dozens of hours long games, in the end it just depends on how good they can be for all their duration
Most of the best games ever made tend to be under 10 hours, a lot can be finished under 5 hours too.
Depends, how long to beat or how much content? A game that only has 10 hours of content may have poor replay value, but a game that takes 50 hours to beat can get tedious.
Is there any bigger sign of a newbie than bitterly lashing out whenever an older Ganker meme is posted? Is it jealousy that you’ll never experience the site when it was still half decent?
As is appropriate for the type of game and the story told. I've played 5 hour games that felt very well timed, and then I've played 200 hour games that felt like they took the right amount of time. The problem is when people start thinking a game needs to be "at least x hours" or "not more than x hours".
I'm not gonna lie, as I got older, my spare time for vidya decreased, so shorter games seemed more appealing. But that's ultimately folly. I can play 10 10 hour games in the time of one 100 hour game, but if I start looking at something I enjoy like this, the cancerous mindset of the worker drone has successfully penetrated my defenses and infected my good spirits. Vidya (or any other recreational activity) is not about efficiently playing as many games as possible, it's about enjoying it for its own sake.
less than 10 hours
I got shit to do
Then why do Gankerirgins always point out "20 hours" or "40 hours" as a point in an older game's favor (when compared to 5-8 hour sequels)?

I've never played a good game that can be finished in under 10 hours. That's just a garbage movie game
You must be extremely new to videogames to say something as stupid as that
Garbage movie games are usually over 40 hours long though
because morons equate length to value
Is that what you tell the ladies?
Dragon Quest XI's demo alone is 10 hours long.
10 hours is more than enough for every single story ever told
