PS should have their own launcher tbf. If PC games want PS games, they should join the community.

Might lose some sales from Steam but you're netting 100% of the profit.

nice idea, let's see how that worked out for Activision/Blizzard

Activision Blizzard only make online slop that people would prefer to play on console anyway.

        Sony makes narrative based games.

yeah that slop that even the big SNOY b***hed about when Microsoft was about to buy them
          >Sony makes narrative based games.
          aka movie games lmao

Basically a matter of time, the account linking is just a prelude to them launching their own storefront.
Only Valve drones are stupid enough to believe those companies are happy to pay 30% so Gaben can sit on his ass all day.

This.Valve does no support to help games run better like the big three do on consoles. They use their cult of personality to extort 30% in license fees, it's borderline criminal.

every independent launcher has flopped on pc. abk, ubi, ea all flopped and moved back to steam. sony has no chance when they put out 2 games a year. even those other publishers who put out several games a year couldn't sustain their launchers.

EGS is incredibly popular and growing every day.

EGS has 3rd party games. It's also the exclusive way to play the biggest game in the world right now. A Sony launcher won't have 3rd party games because it makes no sense for 3rd parties to just like with the other publishers launchers. Sony also has frick all games to make people want to sign up to their launcher for. Not even activision could sustain their launcher despite having exclusive access to call of duty and they also had the issue of no 3rd party games.

There's no way in hell Sony is competent or motivated enough to develop their own launcher. The couldn't even get functioning online for their consoles for like a decade.

      >There's no way in hell Sony is competent or motivated enough
Correct but they are moronic and have the money to outsource the development their own launcher. The sooner the better, so PS gets btfo of PC market and dies.

PC gays cry for Sony games then switch to calling them slop after they release.
I genuinely hope Sony buy out FROM and keep them Sony exclusive just to watch all breakdowns

I have been saying this shit for years, Sony and Microsoft aren't entirely stupid, they see the writing on the wall now. They are taking upwards of 5-6 years to release ONE game that barely makes back its 300 million dollar budget, if it even does. The console space is growing more and more limited and if they want to keep everything constantly growing and the number going up (which moronic suits that want to please shareholders absolutely do), then they're gonna try and shove parts of their framework into the PC ecosystem; Microsoft just has a much easier time of it because they own Windows already and now that they own CoD too Sony is in a low-level panic over what happens when they eventually pull the "Only on Xbox/Windows" trigger. Hell, within the next two gens I'd expect both of them to go full digital store only to try and force the issue instead of locking people to increasingly redundant gamesboxes.

Windows kind of tried it with GFWL and that was a flop. Crossbuy was a pretty good incentive for both and could help Sony if they try that venue.

        >company who charges $10 for a res boost for their cross gen games and raised game prices to $70 out of pure greed will allow cross buy

        that's never happening.

I think both of them realize Steam is basically THE PC store now so they're either gonna have to try again or figure out a way to incentivize getting people to play within their gated system of Sony/Microsoft accounts, likely with some level of incentives. I do know that if they try that "pay for your own internet" online multiplayer shit they'll be crucified.

    There will be a launcher/storefront
But they will absolutely not pull the games from steam.

    Ubisoft understood this
    R* understood this
    Bethesda understood this
    EA understood this

Sony absolutely understands it as well.

R* could 100% pull from Steam because people want to play their games.

Exactly. Sony is so fricking moronic they will repeat that exact mistake and make their own launcher only to shut it down in 2 years

They should do what MS does with Gamepass.
Release PSN on PC, convert a load of PS games to run on PC and release them in the PSN sub.

They should have one already. Steam shouldn't have a monopoly on the pc game market.

  19. 3 weeks ago

Never, because they can't afford it. They are living paycheck-to-paycheck which is why their games are releasing on PC to begin with - the single largest sign that a console is dying. They tried EGS and learned quickly that it doesn't work.
