What chucklefucks are putting Phantasy Star I in their Best Games of All Time list? The first game was a mess, and not even innovative apart from having multiple worlds. I could see PS2 or 4 on there, especially since so many of them were putting PSO in their lists and probably wanted to give props to the original games, but Phantasy Star 1? At least Dragon Quest 1 created an entire genre (though I don't think that means it's one of the "best" games of all time, and where the hell are DQ3 and 5?)

Name another rpg that had a deep story and multiple world back then

I did say that PS1 having multiple worlds was innovative. That said, Dragon Quest 3's multiple overworlds made a much bigger cultural impact less than a year later. That doesn't take away from the fact that PS1 was there first, but it's a consolation prize at best. I also wouldn't say that Phantasy Star 1 had an especially deep story compared to Dragon Quest 2 or the first Final Fantasy, it was pretty standard for the era. The only real thing making Phantasy Star 1 stand out was that it was available on a Sega console, as opposed to its competition either being on the NES or home computers. That's kind of true of the whole series, though that shouldn't diminish what great, underrated games PS2 and 4 are.

Either way, I have an issue with the people who make these lists not being able to decide which are the "best" games, and which are the most "culturally significant" games, hence Dragon Quest 1's inclusion and no others. And I don't believe Phantasy Star 1 fits either bill anyway. Like I said, I really suspect that the publications that had it in their lists had probably put Phantasy Star Online near the top spot, so they threw PS1 in there as a way to show they acknowledged the series' roots in a haphazard way.

E-Celebs were the ones with PSO & melee

  4. 4 weeks ago

    About 13 of them

  5. 4 weeks ago

Only ones I haven't played are:
    >Phantasy Star Online
    >Tales of Symphonia (tried Phantasia and Vesperia and wasn't a fan)
    >The Last of Us
    >Tactics Ogre: LUCT (I know I'd like it, but I never got around to playing it)

All of them except wizardry, wow and dragon quest 1

zelda seriously the most overrated franchise on the planet

  8. 4 weeks ago

I count "played" as "I made it to the end." I did play FF7 for example, but I quit halfway through Disc 2 and never picked it up again. Same for FF9.
As for games with no clear ending, like Tetris or World of Warcraft, I count "played" as "I played them a fair amount."

    >Super Mario Bros
    >Deus Ex
    >Half-life 2
    >Dark Souls

    t. only had an NES, only has a PC
How are so many of them basically the same game? Zelda and Mario are essentially remakes/updates of previous entries.

Not even close to true otherwise Zelda fans wouldn’t be constantly in a state of civil war

Is it a keystone for what we have today? Yes. Does it deserve a place in the gaming half of fame? Yea. Is it the best game ever? No you dumb cocksuckers

I have played them all except Phantasy Star Online and Another World. I haven't even heard of Another World, actually.

It was called Out of This World in some countries, the US being one of them.

Nvm, I just looked up Another World and I remember seeing this in a YouTube video once, I just forgot about it.

Anyone who says the best game of all time is a fucking Zelda game has a completely irrelevant opinion.
Breath of the Wild excepted, since like it or hate it it's at least its own unique videogame and not just a surface level mash of existing elements packaged nicely for retards. Calling Ocarina of Time the best game ever made is like calling some random marvel trash the best movie ever made, because it's the one you saw in your childhood.
