Probably about 10k over the years. I got into them in 2015 so that's pretty reasonable.

Like $20 on Genshit when it was new. I resisted the spell after that.

    >boot up genshit for the first time in like 5 years
    >there's a co-op thing in place
    >someone joins my party and we kill shit for a while
    >he says he's 14yo living in NZ and works at a bakery 16 hours a week and dumps his entire paycheck into genshit

What the frick is there to enjoy in Gacha "games" to justify shoveling your life savings into them?

FOMO. Maybe if you pay enough money you can cut a minute or two off the time you're forced to waste each day to keep up with the shit game that has no content of any value.

Nothing on gacha, but at least $300 on membership and cosmetics for an almost-dead MMOFPS full of hackers. NChads where we at?

Its absolutely laughable that people freak out over something like Star Citizen yet give a pass to gatcha garbage where you you have little if any chance to get certain things without spending hundreds or thousands and are designed specifically to frick with your mind and get you to open your wallet.

There's nothing of merit in gatcha game systems when it comes to the player. Same thing with mobile shit, korean grinders, item mall nonsense and anything else where they have to hire psychologists as if they're opening a casino to mindfrick you. There are better ways to do things but enough morons don't know the difference so they keep defending companies with exploitative business plans. We should instead be supporting old fashioned buy to play + expansion, subscription, optional non-exclusive purchases and more.

Maybe $120 over two or three years. After a while I realized I could get everything in these games for free (because I'm not addicted to gambling) and then stopped spending.

Ultimately though it's far less than what I've spent on MMORPG subscriptions since the late 90s, which is probably in the thousands of dollars.
