I think he means that the terrain is generated using a heightmap. It's a very compact way of storing the map so that most of the land can be loaded using just this image (actual image is bigger of course), where the shade of grey determines the height at each point. But there's only 1 pixel at each point, which means that there can only be 1 height. That means no ceilings, no overhangs, no caves. Things like buildings and trees and giant skulls are loaded separately. That cave is likely a separate object that blends with the normal terrain.
However by that logic, the cave systems in TotK could also be separate objects, possibly made a little more efficiently using a path system or something procedural. But they could blend the cave system with the heightmap system like they do with all terrain objects. It doesn't take 6 years to make and they don't have to "remake" all of hyrule.

Wait, what? It's in the middle of Hebra, directly north of Rito village.
While the basics were still there and they definitely did NOT rebuild the entire map they had to go over the whole thing and fix it.
Not only because the underground had to function and was based on it, and they had to add the sky areas but because they actually redid a fair amount of it using the sky junk that fell.
Which both had to coincide with a bunch of BotW assets (because shit was clearly destroyed by it and the chasms to the underground and towers had to erupt you into it) but because they actually used the sky junk to fix some of the traversal blunders they made in BotW.
There is a lot less issues like climbing in rain addled areas precisely because they added sky junk which could be used as resting places or to just shwoop up through with Ascend. They might as well have been building a new map and it may actually have been easier since they'd be doing so with the new stuff and complaints of players in mind already.
>why not just build a new map
Because they had ideas to continue the botw story, but it was too expansive to fit the limitations of botw so they scoped it up to a full sequel. Nothing wrong if you disagree with that decision but that's the answer they gave. Regardless, technically they did build a new map...it just looks almost identical to the old one.
Thank god they changed the engine so they could add worthless copy pasted caves. Truly worth the $70 6 year wait. I was one of the guys shitting on ER's caves for not being varied enough and then TotK comes along and makes those look like a fucking masterpiece.
>6 year wait
Reminder that 2-3 of those years were literally dead time due to COVID where zero work on the project was done.
TotK's dev time was actually remarkably normal.
They didn't actually have any ideas at all, so they tossed in some cut ideas from BotW and called it a day. Nintendo gets way too much praise these days.
Here's what I'm thinking.
1) Getting the new powers to work properly
2) Monolith Soft had to split their time on the other games they were working/helping out on like Xenoblade 2, Animal Crossing, etc. so the Tears team had to do without them for a good while (which might also explain why some of the new places like the Depths feel undercooked)
3) Making sure it all runs on the Switch (docked and undocked), which just to remind you guys the thing came out in 2017 and is using low-powered phone hardware from 2015
Soon brother
They've gotten more and more clout with Nintendo, and with all the rumours pointing to a Switch 2 next year, I wouldnt be surprised if they're working on a launch title now.
game started development in 2018 after the dlc was finished. 2019-2021 the covid restriction impacted game development. they probably lost a year of development time. 2022 it was done but they sat on it to fix bugs and dodge comparisons to elden ring.
overall the game only had 3 years of real development time.
I remember reading that Zelda games take so long because the team likes to play and experiment with the ideas before actually implementing them. I read this in an interview.
You don't seem to understand that Nintendo has made a lot of games in these 6 years. TOTK wasn't just one
plus covid and other things
they probably only spent about 2-3 years on it
The Zelda team is exclusively focused on Zelda development, kiddo. Usually starting within a few months or even simultaneously with the prior entry, even if it's preliminary shit. The TOTK team was absolutely using all that time, minus COVID interruptions
The same Dev Team has been working on Xenoblade and Open World Zelda. They didn't seriously start working on Tears of the Kingdom until Xenoblade 3 launched, outside of art assets, story, dungeon design etc...
Now that TotK has launched that team will work on the next Xenoblade Game probably.
it's nearly impossible when you think about it. the fact that you can create literally unlimited different creations means they had to create models for all these unique combinations or write code to combine the models into one model. it's INSANE how much effort that would have taken, not to mention how they work together seamlessly to make literal machines inside a video game. no other game lets you literally create a functioning machine that is only limited by your creatitvity
Hyperbolic praise towards media makes me cringe so god damn hard
This kinda shit annoys me too. People who speak about things at this conceptual level with zero real world knowledge to mediate their expression.
'matching code' to 'models' is 'INSANE' when you have no clue what you're talking about.
The only thing you got right is that there are unique combinations. Meaning there is a specific set of ways things can combine. There are only so many interactions to be accounted for. Nothing about that implies infinite reactivity.
>me like money >me take successful game >me add pointless gimmick >me release it as a new game >*money flows* >me happy
This explanation should be around the intellectual level that Nintendo fans can understand.
mm ww and tp are solid
ss is indeed shit
botw did need to happen, but there were lots of shortcomings in that game that could've been fixed in a sequel
But it already does have a good sound track
Don't tell me you want "le epic boss music" for the 100+ hours you're exploring the overworld? Don't you realize how tiring that would get like it did in twilight princess?
etc. not included: actual great music for every dungeon
there's no reason why botw 1 and 2 couldn't have had real music in the overworld, you're just accustomed to eating shit.
Could have had dynamic field music for each map region, day/night, weather.
Basically what OoT did but way more varied (if you stand still in OoT the music changes)
I'm not very tech savvy but isn't it basically BotW + Garry's Mod? What's so unfathomable about it? And if 'game developers' can't figure it out, is that a sure sign that the industry is losing competence at an alarming rate?
What? It's standard open world crap with extremely rudimentary physics components
Think of it like this:
I can stand still in TotK and simply let the rain lash down.
>NPCs will run for shelter >water will pool >wildlife will gather under trees >rare fauna and animals will appear >stealth becomes easier because the rain lowers visibility and covers noise >lightning will strike, which may kill me or set things on fire >the world becomes wet, meaning surfaces are hard to climb, yet slick to shield surf over. >combat scenarios are dynamic changed
Even just standing still in TotK, without interacting with the world or even mentioning any of its gameplay mechanics, it is running rings around every other game.

Devs asking this just says a few things to me; that the industry is in an extremely shitty place with their incompetence and that they want to praise it to keep the extremely low status quo either to enable their laziness or so they can keep actively fucking up the industry, possibly both.
I give far more weight to devs losing their shit trying to damage control over not wanting BG3 to elevate consumer standards than I do retarded devs not knowing basic features that come with fucking unity or any halfway decent readily available engine. Features little indie games like scrap mechanic have had 7 years before totk, and even before botw. It's not like nintendo even made their own physics engine, they just used havok.

I want a fucking Zelda game - where you get fantasy stuff like horses across a Medieval landscape and other shit. I don't want sci fi tier tech stepping on that that. Nobody here is defending the OP image. Game journos are retards as we all know. OP image is just bait to get a thread going.
TotK makes BotW look like a rough first draft. I haven't played BotW since 2017 but I can only imagine how barren, empty and simplistic it must feel next to TotK.
>they couldn't be bothered to change the slightest thing.
That's complete nonsense. BotW and TotK are only set in the same world. Thr content and gameplay experof playing through it is utterly different.
Best example is A Link To The Past vs A Link Between Worlds. Same world, entirely different games, with entirely different content. Each with their own unique gameplay mechanics offering entirely different gameplay experiences. Both compliment each other.
>BotW and TotK are only set in the same world
this doesn't explain anything. you're using an effect to explain a cause. here it's evident that gameplay and developers chose to not change hyrule in the slightest. this was acknowledged in the process of designing albw, so what they did is also change the style of the game.
majora's mask came out because nintendo knew the most important thing to change when making a new game is to change the map, which is also why, despite the shamelessly reused assets, it's still a fan favorite
>content and gameplay >udderly different
No, they really aren't. You CAN build a machine to temporarily navigate it different and a lack of Revali's Gale changes some things, but overall it's the same.
>nooooo you cant just use the same map even tho legend of zelda is set in the kingdom of hyrule its just... you just HAVE to make a new map okay!!! even tho i cry about AAA slop being soulless and not fun ... i just NEED a new map or its a heckin dlc even tho it has 500 hours of new content and entire mechanics like building your own contraptions and machines that no other game can do its just ... i just need a new map ... no i wont play ubislop even tho they have new maps every release and thats what i want its just .. well those games are soulless and only about graphics and just a shiny coat of paint on the same thing .. waell .. zelda should NOT be in the kingdom of hyrule you NEED to make a whole new kingdom just for the hell of it! even tho my opinion doesnt matter because i dont buy the game and im a fat lazy loser ... nintendo you HAVE to listen to me even tho totk is winning goty you will have a few fat autist trannies like me saying a bad about you on Ganker!
And they changed it, a lot. And then they added an entire underworld. And then sky islands with four labyrinths that span the underworld, ground, and sky. Of course the hud and artstyle are the same because it didnt need to be changed, so retards like you cry about it
rectifying. by "change" I mean "build from scratch". of course they changed the overworld a little bit (just enough to call it a new game, see how all the changes are packed mostly into towns), but that isn't -and shouldn't- be enough
So build it from scratch for literally no reason at all and waste a massive amount of development time
Okay retard
Thank fuck youre talentless and cant create anything
litterally every relevant zelda game had at least its stile or overworld built from scratch though? I'm sorry, but you need to make a new game if you want to call it a new game.
oh yeah by the way I did half the job to create your little brother, so please don't call me talentless
I consider myself a pretty big Zeldafag and TOTK was a let down overall. Ultrahand was cool at first but it just doesn't have that same charm that BOTW had and the story being told through memories once again didn't help. The only parts I genuinely loved were the wind temple boss, the final boss fight against Ganondorf and the victory lap with dragon Ganon.
You can tell Totk defenders are cut from the same cloth as Sword and Shield consumers because of the floodgate of fans that came after BoTW released, and how they like to prop up every minor detail of the game while minimizing any and all critique. Suddenly the lore and the timeline doesn't matter anymore, the game just being big and looking graphically decent is suddenly a huge feat, and there is little care about the dungeon designs being bland and basic. This was not a thing until BoTW came out, where we would before make fun of the new weird goofy designs and autistically discuss where or why these games fit in the timeline even if there were a few dissenters who didn't care. We still wanted a good story either way. The fanbase standards have lowered considerably since then.
Stop trying to make this about your subpar franchise please

BRAVO, AONUMA
i mean in defense of nintendo fans who only play zelda and mario stuff like physics puzzles must be actual black magic to them
they never heard of shit like gmod or half life 2 before
>what do you mean it only took 6 years to reuse the world, engine, and graphics of the previous game with only slight gameplay changes????
Western game devs seriously need to get their shit together.
I am really at a fucking loss when I try to comprehend how Tears of the Kingdom exists at all.
I feel like I am a vestigial tailed baby again.
I have to learn how to hold my floppy head up, and I shit in my diaper without any apprehension when my mind beckons me to the abyss with the unanswerable conundrum.
How Nintendo created this multi dimensional masterpiece that shouldn't exist, it really should not... yet it does.
Everyone cries about TOTK being "glorified DLC", but at least it's still a good and fun game
Pokemon has gone way down the shitter in terms of quality and gameplay over the past decade or so, and even with the last two games being unfinished betas full of bugs and glitches and ps2 graphics, they still sold 20+ million copies. NPCs literally have no taste.
I'm still trying to figure out how Majora's Mask and Spirit Tracks can exist. It's like they took all of the assets of an existing game and flipped them for a quick sequel. How is that possible? HOW THE FRICK DID THEY DO IT?!?!??
I did play Links Awakening. It was actually the first Zelda game I ever played AND the first video game I ever played back on the og Gameboy. I havent played the remake.
Do zoomers hate OOT? I've seen several YouTube videos where zoomers try OOT and most of them seem to like it. Especially the music and dungeons thats something they all seem to like in OOT. I dunno if they are just forcing themselves to like it though as maybe they think they are supposed to like it.
I think a decent amount of zoomers like it contrary to what others say here. I really feel like it's the contrarian millennial crowd that truly hates it. My reasoning is people have been saying it's "overrated" since the early 10's. Just look at Arin Hanson. Gen x was the group that reviewed it and praised it when it came out and Gen z happens to like Gen x stuff, so I think they at least try to like it.
I imagine getting Recall working correctly was a lot. The game has to save the state of nearly every nearby object and enemy for about 30 seconds at a time.
All that work for a dull mechanic that lets you rid rocks up to random spots in the sky and gives you a janky way of achieving liftoff for gliders. Incredible.
Simple, it doesn't.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a mass hallucination. Forget not being a real Zelda game, it's not a real game at all.
All discussion, all the clips and screenshots you've seen, all things making up this 'game' are fabricated.
Come to your senses. Wake up.
Normalfags have been so long conditioned to not expect games to actually have new or interesting mechanics and programming that the moment totk does it they act like it's a work of profound and mindblowing genius even though it used to be the norm.

3) Making sure it all runs on the Switch (docked and undocked), which just to remind you guys the thing came out in 2017 and is using low-powered phone hardware from 2015
I want to see what Monolith soft can do not stuck on the switch's garbage hardware and not stuck hard carrying all of Nintendo's other teams.
2022 it was done but they sat on it to fix bugs and dodge comparisons to elden ring.
overall the game only had 3 years of real development time.
>game started development in 2018 after the dlc was finished
hahaha you retards truly know nothing. this isn't an indie studio
I remember reading that Zelda games take so long because the team likes to play and experiment with the ideas before actually implementing them. I read this in an interview.
This game clearly took 2 years to make top. Wich explains why it is just a rehash of BotW.
Now that TotK has launched that team will work on the next Xenoblade Game probably.
it finished last year but elden ring released
Hyperbolic praise towards media makes me cringe so god damn hard
Why should I give two FUCKS about what makes you cringe? Eat a goddamn dick.
it's nearly impossible when you think about it. the fact that you can create literally unlimited different creations means they had to create models for all these unique combinations or write code to combine the models into one model. it's INSANE how much effort that would have taken, not to mention how they work together seamlessly to make literal machines inside a video game. no other game lets you literally create a functioning machine that is only limited by your creatitvity
What worries me is there's some people out there who genuinely believe this
Yeah kerbal space program was really ahead of its time
This kinda shit annoys me too.
Nothing about that implies infinite reactivity.
what a fucking idiot
what a retard
i've never seen bait here so perfectly emulate the prose of normalfags
>smartest Zelda fan
Not a single one of these seething snoys and xbots can refute any of this.
You literally almost had me anon.
They literally programmed electricity! that's electrons'n'shit! goddam geniuses!
>Zelda "fans" trying to figure out how DLC can exist
Genius Aonumale
>me like money
>me take successful game
>me add pointless gimmick
>me release it as a new game
>*money flows*
>me happy
This explanation should be around the intellectual level that Nintendo fans can understand.
Jesus fuck, Lara... Play some fucking games and you won't be bewildered by something like totk.
What the fuck it EXISTS?
Yes.
>zelda fans when they find out what ctrl c and ctrl v do
HOW DO THEY FUCKING EXIST?
they physics is pretty impressive.
As a Sony fan, it pisses me off we'll never get a game as good as TotK.
As a Nintendo fan, it pisses me off that we went from OOT to this.
>As a Nintendo fan, it pisses me off that we went from OOT to this.
We didn't. We from OoT and then downhill with increasingly shitter rehashed until Nintendo saved the series with BotW.
TotK is the game I pretended OoT was.
3d zelda started going downhill with SS
Nah. MM, WW, TP were diminishing returns. After TP Nintendo knew they had to do something to freshen the series up. Skyward Sword was the result.
BotW was inevitable. A back-to-basics approach which Nintendo would have landed on at some point.
mm ww and tp are solid
ss is indeed shit
botw did need to happen, but there were lots of shortcomings in that game that could've been fixed in a sequel
https://arch.b4k.co/v/search/text/BotW%20was%20inevitable.%20A%20back-to-basics/
How many pastas do you have saved?
>until Nintendo saved the series with BotW
>Fenyx Rising
>Genshin
>RDR2
>AC Games
Only people who think BoTW/ToTK are unique are people who don't play anything outside of Nintendo.
Seething snoytroon.
He’s right that Sony is chasing realism over pure gameplay, but totk still sucks
What the fuck is 'pure gameplay'?
Zelda has been the same shit since wind waker.
Why does Tears Of The Kingdom sound so good?!
>Minecraft music
Do zoomers really?
Sound design is great, OST isn't
>silence for 80% of the game
>BRO HOW IS IT SO GOOD????
bros I just want a good sound track again I’m fucking tired of “LE IMMERSIVE AMBIANCE” in Zelda of all franchises
please understand, small company
botw 3 should go for 100% adaptive soundtrack as all overworld games should
But it already does have a good sound track
Don't tell me you want "le epic boss music" for the 100+ hours you're exploring the overworld? Don't you realize how tiring that would get like it did in twilight princess?
>he considers these to be "le epic boss music"
etc. not included: actual great music for every dungeon
there's no reason why botw 1 and 2 couldn't have had real music in the overworld, you're just accustomed to eating shit.
Could have had dynamic field music for each map region, day/night, weather.
Basically what OoT did but way more varied (if you stand still in OoT the music changes)
>sound track
no wonder you have shit taste, you're retarded.
There is plenty of good soundtrack. We don't need a cacophony of symphony when you are just standing around
If Nintendo is insistent on Link carrying a fucking tablet around then where is my MP3 player with collectable songs?
I thought it was a cool video
the amount of butthurt botw and totk have generated on this board is simply second to none
many hymens on this board BROKEN
Only botw did that, though?
totk is just botw so they butthurt over it being shit continues
>after 6 years of bleeding out the ass over BotW, schizos on Ganker now admit that it's a masterpiece so they can have a game.to compete against TotK.
Can't make this shit up.
Who are you quoting?
His word file.
These animals are actually 50Yfacing and one of them is crying while doing so
And I will pirate and play each one.
I'm not very tech savvy but isn't it basically BotW + Garry's Mod? What's so unfathomable about it? And if 'game developers' can't figure it out, is that a sure sign that the industry is losing competence at an alarming rate?
Normies don't know what Garry's Mod is and think TotK invented GMod gameplay.
Go play gmod then and delude yourself into thinking you're playing TotK.
Well Gmod is dead, but when Gmod was active it was a lot more fun than Tears of the Pussy.
Didn't your kind already get systematically humiliated in the previous thread?
NTA but why don't you tell us what exactly about TotK makes it so technically amazing that its existence can't be figured out?
>what exactly about TotK makes it so technically amazing that its existence can't be figured out?
Game design.
Be specific. What about its design?
Think of it like this:
I can stand still in TotK and simply let the rain lash down.
>NPCs will run for shelter
>water will pool
>wildlife will gather under trees
>rare fauna and animals will appear
>stealth becomes easier because the rain lowers visibility and covers noise
>lightning will strike, which may kill me or set things on fire
>the world becomes wet, meaning surfaces are hard to climb, yet slick to shield surf over.
>combat scenarios are dynamic changed
Even just standing still in TotK, without interacting with the world or even mentioning any of its gameplay mechanics, it is running rings around every other game.
all of this isnt new & is coming from a CTRL+C; CTRL+V job from botw
maybe try again
Yes TotK has the base gameplay of BotW (which 6 years later no developer has caught up to) and then added a fuckton of new ideas itself.
you have yet to name them
Pic-was related
But I guess you missed it.
name some other
you know, things that you'd know if you played the game
things that aren't a google search away
Why can't you cope?
>you're wrong because le internèt meme
So name a single game doing what TotK is doing.
Just a single game.
You won't and you can't.
Continue seething.
Banjo-Kazooie Nuts n Bolts
Read the post.
Garry's Mod
I fid all of that shit in Gary's Mod 15 years ago. While it might be new for you tendies, I'm sick and tired of it. I want a fucking Zelda game - where you get fantasy stuff like horses across a Medieval landscape and other shit. I don't want sci fi tier tech stepping on that that. They should have doubled down on mounts, but gave you loftwings and stuff to fly. It's too easy to make some stupid machine that trivializes everything else.
>Loftwings
Please don't remind me of that piece of trashware.
Nah, that's the single thing that's a decent concept from SS. A bird mount fits the world far better than fucking flying machines.
yeah, I do agree with this. It didn't make much sense to have a horse stabling system when you can just travel quicker using Zonai devices
lol guarantee youre the fags that cry about every single new AAA game
then when theres a sovlful game you shit and piss your pants
face it bro, youre just a contrarian because you got bullied in school and this is your way of feeling something unique in your life. it's okay man
>lol guarantee youre the fags that cry about every single new AAA game
yes, they're almost universally awful
>then when theres a sovlful game you shit and piss your pants
it's good, it's just not as good as the hype
>face it bro, youre just a contrarian because you got bullied in school and this is your way of feeling something unique in your life. it's okay man
So I ask again
In what way is the game so miraculous that 'players and game developers can't figure out how it even exists' is a justified statement?
This, particularly when there are large-scale open-world games just like it. GTA for one, Cyberpunk for another. And honestly, those might be more complicated than Breath or Tears
And that's all great, immersive stuff anon, but nothing that justifies 'players and game developers can't figure out how it even exists'. It's a good game, not a black box miracle as is implied.
>'players and game developers can't figure out how it even exists'
Nobody here is defending the OP image. Game journos are retards as we all know. OP image is just bait to get a thread going.
mgs5 did all of that though
What? It's standard open world crap with extremely rudimentary physics components
I can't believe how disappointing totk was.
What game are you playing right now? Tell us.
Breath of the Wild
TotK makes BotW look like a rough first draft. I haven't played BotW since 2017 but I can only imagine how barren, empty and simplistic it must feel next to TotK.
Based.
The only game to compete with TotK is BotW aka the greatest video game of all time.
How can anyone compete with Nintendo?
>BotW aka the greatest video game of all time
Cope.
>has to go back 30 years to the beginning of the internet review Soup to find a game capable of competing with BotW/TotK
>it's another Zelda game
LMFAOO
Well seeing how much OoT gets shat on with the same old webms, you're evidently mad at it.
MGSV
Xenoblade X
GTA
>barren, empty and simplistic
They're the same shit dude
>they couldn't be bothered to change the slightest thing.
>BotW and TotK are only set in the same world
this doesn't explain anything. you're using an effect to explain a cause. here it's evident that gameplay and developers chose to not change hyrule in the slightest. this was acknowledged in the process of designing albw, so what they did is also change the style of the game.
majora's mask came out because nintendo knew the most important thing to change when making a new game is to change the map, which is also why, despite the shamelessly reused assets, it's still a fan favorite
>developers chose to not change hyrule in the slightest
You didn't play the game. There isn't an area of TotK's Hyrule which hasn't been transformed from BotW, offering new content and gameplay.
AI generated post
>content and gameplay
>udderly different
No, they really aren't. You CAN build a machine to temporarily navigate it different and a lack of Revali's Gale changes some things, but overall it's the same.
>botw 2 was actually so underwhelming that Nintendo had to admit they delayed the game just to not release it side by side with Elden Ring
lol
Elden Ring couldn't even compete with BotW, never mind TotK.
>nooooo you cant just use the same map even tho legend of zelda is set in the kingdom of hyrule its just... you just HAVE to make a new map okay!!! even tho i cry about AAA slop being soulless and not fun ... i just NEED a new map or its a heckin dlc even tho it has 500 hours of new content and entire mechanics like building your own contraptions and machines that no other game can do its just ... i just need a new map ... no i wont play ubislop even tho they have new maps every release and thats what i want its just .. well those games are soulless and only about graphics and just a shiny coat of paint on the same thing .. waell .. zelda should NOT be in the kingdom of hyrule you NEED to make a whole new kingdom just for the hell of it! even tho my opinion doesnt matter because i dont buy the game and im a fat lazy loser ... nintendo you HAVE to listen to me even tho totk is winning goty you will have a few fat autist trannies like me saying a bad about you on Ganker!
>legend of zelda is set in the kingdom of hyrule
pretty much every zelda is set in the kingdom of hyrule, but they changed it almost every time
And they changed it, a lot.
The Powerful Responsibility of Tears of the Kingdom.
I consider myself a pretty big Zeldafag and TOTK was a let down overall. Ultrahand was cool at first but it just doesn't have that same charm that BOTW had and the story being told through memories once again didn't help. The only parts I genuinely loved were the wind temple boss, the final boss fight against Ganondorf and the victory lap with dragon Ganon.
>zelda fans who started with the switch games
Nobody cares about cares what happens in your containment board.
6 years
>it's another seethe thread on Ganker
>be Nintendo
>spend 6 years figuring out how to add Gmod physics to BoTW
>this makes tendies shit and piss themselves
Lol lmao
Reminder that Midna is the queen of Ganker and zelda.
How the fuck did Nintendo invent grass in ToTK??
Which one? The comparison is very apt regardless.
>The fanbase standards have lowered considerably since then.
Pic-related: the standards.

So you've never played the older games, not surprising.
>zelda wasn’t a dragon in botw because… look she just wasn’t ok?
>the hyrulians? Demise? No shut up, SS was an alternate timeline. Also fi is canon
>here’s all these items from previous games, but those are from an alternate timeline
>you can’t go back to hylian form after you turn into a dragon. Oh uh well nvm, I guess you can. Oh but the sword you used to do it is still weak as shot
BRAVO, AONUMA
>may 2023
Did Nintendo refresh a shill campaign or what?
have to get buzz up so they can win GOTY awards
i mean in defense of nintendo fans who only play zelda and mario stuff like physics puzzles must be actual black magic to them
they never heard of shit like gmod or half life 2 before
the devs finally played Gary's Mod and thought it would be neat to put it in their Zelda game
>what do you mean it only took 6 years to reuse the world, engine, and graphics of the previous game with only slight gameplay changes????
NPCs literally have no taste.
>tendies who only play tendie shit are easily wowed
nooo waaeeee
I'm still trying to figure out how Majora's Mask and Spirit Tracks can exist. It's like they took all of the assets of an existing game and flipped them for a quick sequel. How is that possible? HOW THE FRICK DID THEY DO IT?!?!??
How the fuck can anything exist?
>Reuse more than half the assets
>Spend the rest of the budget on physics engine
There, I solved it.
I've played all the Zelda games and the only ones I actually liked were LTTP, LA, OOT, MM, Ages, Seasons, WW, MC and LBW.
You didn't play Link's Awakening?
I did play Links Awakening. It was actually the first Zelda game I ever played AND the first video game I ever played back on the og Gameboy. I havent played the remake.
based and same
Would've rather the series died with some dignity than become like this honestly.
Is anything Zelda related going to happen later this month? That homosexual Jeff Grub said we should expect another Zelda thing this year.
and yet it's going to lose to bg3 tendie, cope
Do zoomers hate OOT? I've seen several YouTube videos where zoomers try OOT and most of them seem to like it. Especially the music and dungeons thats something they all seem to like in OOT. I dunno if they are just forcing themselves to like it though as maybe they think they are supposed to like it.
I think a decent amount of zoomers like it contrary to what others say here. I really feel like it's the contrarian millennial crowd that truly hates it. My reasoning is people have been saying it's "overrated" since the early 10's. Just look at Arin Hanson. Gen x was the group that reviewed it and praised it when it came out and Gen z happens to like Gen x stuff, so I think they at least try to like it.
post webms of tears of the kingdom that make you think HOW THE FUCK CAN IT EXIST?
A team develop it. Zeldafags are brainless
I've played all the Zelda games, and the only ones I liked were the original game, Zelda II, Breath of the Wild, and this one
Incredible.
Just because you're an unimaginative retard doesn't mean everyone else is
Simple, it doesn't.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a mass hallucination. Forget not being a real Zelda game, it's not a real game at all.
All discussion, all the clips and screenshots you've seen, all things making up this 'game' are fabricated.
Come to your senses. Wake up.
I think the fact that all the potential generated by BOTW only resulted in a game like TOTK is extremely concerning.
Fucking gacha games have better music than Zelda at this point.
Normalfags have been so long conditioned to not expect games to actually have new or interesting mechanics and programming that the moment totk does it they act like it's a work of profound and mindblowing genius even though it used to be the norm.
Who the fuck makes these retarded articles?
