How the frick do people learn how to play CS

Am I just way too late to the party? I try to play casual dust 2 and everyone is just instantly headshotting me every time, meanwhile even if I get the drop on someone I'll tap 20 times to no avail, they'll calmly turn around and headshot me

Stand still before you start shooting.
And your crosshair is basically useless after the first shot

And when I say "stand still" I mean totally still.
Tap the opposite direction you were walking to cancel your momentum.

      what

For most weapons, yeah where you're actually firing will frick right off from the crosshair shortly after you start.

What the frick is the point of the crosshair then why doesn't it follow the pattern

            Anonymous

Great question, there's an option now to have the crosshair follow the spray pattern, but I just play with it off.

      >And your crosshair is basically useless after the first shot

Not in CS2, the crosshair shows the recoil. This was a problem I'm CSGO

    you're supposed to cheat

the game is full to the brim with cheaters now i wouldn't bother

doesn't matter the gamemode, casual or premiere or competitive. game's fricked now.

    >cheaters
maybe if you have low trust factor. i have over 3k hours on multiple accounts combined and hever had a cheater in my life

      Good cheaters blend in

trust factor is not a thing anymore, prime also doesn't mean anything, if you think you're playing and not running into cheaters you're either on faceit or too moronic to realize how common they are, it's literally one in every 2 games at the very least, it gets more frequent as you move up the mmr ladder

this, cheaters in this game aren't very good at hiding it

same except i've been playing for years. shits just unplayable now, instant running headshots everywhere

Rifles are a no go for shooting while moving, you can get away with it more when using and SMG but you'll be at a range and damage disadvantage

More like why would you learn how to play CS

It's really shallow, I had my fill of it in 2005, the gameplay is over 20 years old and hasn't changed.

Same. And how the frick do people ONLY play that shitty Dust map? It's like the only one people ever do. I honestly don't get the appeal.

i fricking hate how the m4a4, ak47 and awp are the only ways to play the game. why are the other cool guns like the shotguns and heavy weapons so shit in comparison? are they doing this on purpose because players would shit their intestines in rage if those 3 guns got nerfed? i just want to use the mag 7 bros.

Offline practice with bots, practicing with friends over LAN, watching tutorials online, and talking to professionals.

Counter Strike was made by people who couldn't handle shooting moving targets in quake or half life so you're expected to learn spread patterns and basically just sit on your ass all game. Moving at all is severely punishing.

    1. Practice aim maps first by 'tapping' single shots at static targets, then moving targets and then work on spray control.
    2. Practice on Deathmatch, get used to not being surprised/flinching when you get the drop, it should feel mechanical and Luke time has slowed, not a rush of blood to the head.
    3. Accept that around 20-30% of the player base cheats and try not to get into bad habits of countering impossible situations.

Most cheaters are using a combo of 'legit aimbot' or esp and will be hard to spot until you yourself are pretty decent at the game. Don't listen to people who say it isn't a problem because they don't see many ragers, the level of legit cheating has grown so much over the past 5 years. My typical K/D has consistently gone down from when I first started, despite now having hundreds of hours of experience. I personally gave CS up a months ago when the cheating was really bad and VAC basically wasn't being used. I hear it's better now but I am happier not playing it.

you should probably just try playing a good video game instead

I didn't really play gayshooters most of my life they're some of the worst games out there..but my friends roped me into it and it's not that hard. I found a mod map that was basically skeetshooting and after a few weeks of practicing 15 min a day, I was better than most of my friends. In the end I personally prefer Office, Italy, Militia, Agency and a few other maps that Valve deleted because you're only allowed to play dust 2 with cheaters in an out of game match-making system. Actual shit game but in my experience all the ex global elitist players hang out in office and the games are more chill and less incel ragegays.

it's not a game that you're going to be at all good at in the beginning. there's a lot more to it than just having good aim. you don't have to learn spray patterns or crazy grenade lineups to be better than 80% of players in casual lobbies.
just play enough and you'll start to understand when and where you should peek, what angles you should hold and when etc.
the mac-10 and mp9 are very easy to use and you can run and gun with them. i'd suggest using those. also equip the silenced m4 from your CT inventory, it's much easier to use than the regular one and cheaper
everyone in this thread talking about cheaters doesn't even play the game. you see them every so often but it's really not that big of an issue.

also, try to stay with your team whenever you can especially on T side and always have your cursor where someone's head would be
don't push like a moron when you're on CT

Don't bother, there's no fun to be had in this game. You play the meta, you follow the algorithm, sometimes you win, most of the time you lose. If you're not treating it as a job to climb the ranking ladder, there's literally no point.

      >meta
What the frick are you talking about.

Also I don't even play CS anymore but seeing Ganker talk about literally any multiplayer focused competitive game is always eye opening, you people are fricking horrible at video games and have no idea what you're talking about.

everyone either cheats or has played it their entire life with 20k hours. average players don't exist in cs
