Until PC gaming became more accessible and mainstream this was never an issue unless it made a game unplayable. You're clearly a zoomer if this is a problem and born in a different time and privileged.
People played games for fun back then. Not for measuring arbitrary numbers that no one cares about. You're like those kids that screamed about 16 whole bits, even though you don't know what a bit is or why it makes the console better.
Turn off the FPS display and just play the game.
Back then me and most didn't have the concept of 'frame rate' but we notice certain games like SotC played like shit and felt really bad to control.
This. When playing both MGS2 and 3 as a kid I could feel MGS2 felt better to control than MGS3, but I couldn't explain why. Only as adult I found out MGS2 ran at 60FPS and MGS3 ran at 30FPS.
No reason to play anything ever made for the PS2 on anything but an emulator at this point. I could handle the low FPS just fine back in the day but man at this point it's just terrible.
Yeah same here. I remember dropping certain games as a kid because they felt like shit to play, only figured out why when I was older.
it wasn't uncommon in gen 5-7, no one really cared that much. I didn't even think about the concept of frame rate until like 2008. People cared about slowdown or "lag" more than anything
i think all the 'jank' is still there because the game is still literally the exact same, the ps4 version just changed the graphics and they still had their work from the ps3 port which stabilised the fps and upped the res
It happened on every system. The 64 was worst offender with low teens if there was too much happening and I remember halo 1 and 2 being pretty bad during multiplayer or co op, for example

This new subgroup is actually like late-millennial graphic whores who refused to play anything that didn't look like Crysis, MGS4 or Gears of War. Same posting style.
>low fps just doesn't apply to that technology
The absurdity you read on this site, holy shit. Do you really think zoomers are dumb enough to believe this crap that you can debunk in a quick google search?
>low fps just doesn't apply to that technology
Yeah, so the few hardworking devs of gen 4-6 who went out of their way to optimize their games to run at 60 FPS did it for no reason at all, you dumb gorilla nigga?
Team Ico games are the biggest meme games in the world. They're all about some kid running around in a garden climbing on rocks, and none of them are really all that good.
Shadow of the Colossus is cool for all of about an hour, and then you just do the same thing for the rest of the game.
If you can't appreciate your PS2 chugging away as it tries to lovingly render you catching a ride on a giant eagle soaring over a grand lake then homosexuality is the least of your problems OP.
Yeah the input lag was a pain and that awful bloom and motion blur, yikes...
Im used to a measly 75fps on pc
And this bullshit still gave me a headache
You have inferior genetics
are you playing on an emulator?
Nigga, the game runs like shit on original PS2 hardware, stop pretending otherwise.
silk smooth 20 FPS with dips to 15

>moving goalposts
15 FPS boomer slop

Seethe and dilate. OP is right.

bullshit. sonyfags excused this slop but it didnt happen on other systems.
play the remake. the input lag is still there because muh faithful remake jank, but it’s still much better and more playable

Looks fine on crt. For whatever reason, low fps just doesn't apply to that technology. LCD was a mistake.

It was worse on plasma TV's but even back in the day on CRT's I still noticed the dogshit framerates PS2 had compared to PC games.
>compared to pc games
they weren't any better, zoomer. You hoped for 30 fps and experienced drops constantly. GoldSource and Unreal especially
CRT is the biggest, most retarded meme pushed by fake nostalgia zoomers and bitter, disingenuous oldfags.
fr fr no cap deadass on god
I read some rumor this was getting a PC port soon
Skill issue zoomie. Game is still a masterpiece.
what a worthless thread
>The Opened Way starts playing
dont you worry, one thousand kekmakes in 24 FPS gonna back you up
is there a better way to run it on OPL

>oh my heckin god this game isn't 200 fps?
>unplayable
>plays on a keyboard everytime like a speed tranny
>it's ok when ocarina of time does it
At least OT didn't have dogshit bloom and motion blur smearing the shit out of the screen and an unbearable input lag.
they targeted 24 fps because the game is C I N E M A
I get a solid 60 fps on my machine
