He's probably the boss that delays his attacks the most, once you condition to not roll too early he's not too bad, honestly the chicken phase is more annoying

Holy mother of spectacle bosses
It's easy as hell, I don't see the issue.
For NK, just roll sideways into his swings. Learn his timings and don't overcommit to offensive. It's a boss that relies on discipline to beat.
It's got one of the worst camera in the game and lizard's head keeps swinging around, it's more annoying than it is hard, just an prologue messing with you before the actual fight
I hate king of the storm phase so much its unreal. The smoke background makes depth perception difficult in a fight where 90% of it is getting in range of his head. If you get hit by fire breath, and the AI decides to do another, its a true combo and an inescapable death. So fucking annoying. Phase 2 is just another generic dude with a big sword.
Dark Souls 3 is incredible in how it's just built for sword + shield. It's not even a contest.
You go against Nameless, Pontiff, Dancer, Champ, etc. with a GS, let alone a fucking UGS, you're not beating this game within a reasonable fucking timeframe whatsoever. Simply unreal.
Don't even get me started on split damage.
I beat my first playthrough using that giant hammer you get from beating the boreal valley dude before fucking off from Lothric, it did a pretty good job at staggering and stunning foes, i got to stun the Nameless King twice, got to nail the rhythm down to a point i knew my next attack would stun him so i went for it even when he was winding up his attack
I tried him with crow quills because I didn't fight him until after Friede for some reason. He was hard as fuck and eventually I just swapped to my curved sword and kicked his shit in.
when i replayed 3 on pc i did a dagger only playthrough because why not, turns out it's baby mode and only counters are friede/gael because their jump away and launch an anime combo if they ever take damage bullshit gets old really soon
Honestly he's not particularly difficult, but hits delayed swings and the fact he'll kill you in two hits make him a pain.
Plus having to repeat the fucking dragon fight every time you die, holy fuck. The real boss fight is my patience which dries up after 2 or 3 times fighting lord of storms and dying to nameless king.
Time I found him the easiest was when I did a black iron tarkus unga bunga high STR hit VIT run, with Yhorms Great Machete, nothing could stand in my way it all got bonked to death.
Wait for him to swing, then roll through the swing. Do this several times in a row until there's an opening. Than hit him once or twice and repeat.
He can be staggered with heavy weapons.
He has two wind based ranged attackes, when he swings vertically you need to roll to the side, when he swings horizontally you need to roll forward through it.
>boss does an attack with SLIGHT delay to make the rolling gameplay loop just a little bit harder >"uwu i can't beat it.."

be less bad
Grow a brain fromslopper.
Do a roll. Then, do several more.

I'll never understand wtf they were thinking for Phase 1.

Use bleed.
Summon your pals
Max range bow cheese makes this fight one of the easiest in the game.
hit him until he dies

I beat it two-handing a scythe my first time.
It probably would have been easier with a better weapon but I did it.

What the fuck are you me? I think I ruined the game for myself when I used Vordt's hammer. Shit was so easy.
ugs is baby mode shitposter, especially in dlcs where it's a free win button
I beat the entire game two-handing the Greataxe you get from the large, Hollow enemy on the highwall.
hit him until he dies
He's extremely hard with light weapons. Wield something with umph like Old Wolf Curved Sword.
dagger completely shits on the main game
I tried him with crow quills because I didn't fight him until after Friede for some reason. He was hard as fuck and eventually I just swapped to my curved sword and kicked his shit in.

ds3 seems so easy now post elden ring
Nameless King delays some of his attacks so much that even if you roll early, you'll still have time to roll again before he actually attacks.
OP here, I went and took a shower and got him on my first post-shower attempt
Sometimes taking a short break is all you need, that's how it went for me against Shin Godzilla
very weak to bleed and if you roll in a certain fashion you can easily avoid the attacks, can't remember but i think it's to your left
Don’t lock on during first phase
Use a gun
If he isn't using lightning stake, roll early. You'll easily i-frame through all his attacks and be ready to dodge any follow-ups.
Just block his attacks, dude.
learn to parry and get crazy

Take the pointy end of your sword and poke him with it till he stops moving
