    The first claw you get is preceded by a journal entry (also on the body you retrieve the claw from) that tells you how to do it. It literally couldn't have been more clear. You were just too lazy to read and explore the game.

      This is Skyrim we're talking about. At no other point are you ever required to stop and read something. If it's important the quest journal will read it for you and give you the arrow.

      The problem was that the mechanic of observing the items was pretty much hidden. IIRC there was even no button there to tell "press this button to look at the item", or any other way of hinting the player such a mechanic even exists.

      The guy you have to loot to get the key also has a book telling you where to look. Literally all the people who didnt get it are dumb ADHD zoomers playing this game at 9 years old that didnt want to read and probably opened the book and instantly closed it when it didnt automatically place a quest marker with the solution

    The funny thing is these doors aren't even supposed to be hard to open, even in the lore. The doors are made to keep the dead inside, not to keep people out. If you can't manage to figure these doors out you are unironically dumber than a literal corpse.

      Nah it goes through peoples heads even in game. There is no place where they have people at the start of the dungeon or whatever and are also on the other end of these doors. All the bandits can’t figure it out. I think also the guy you guve the golden claw to doesnt know it functions as a key at first either. You and the guy trapped in the web are the only ones who know

    It was a combination of not knowing you could rotate items in the inventory, and literally never reading books so I missed the hint in the journal.
