They’d deal with it easily, they already fight eldrich beings that do way more than these lazy ass fish people

Pretty good with just the alien slave/ cultists, but the gods themselves powerscale to being in the realm of the Emperor and the chaos gods. Would like to see some more aliens in 40k have some of the weird alien abilities that lovecraft beings have, like how Ghatanothoa petrifies anything that looks at it into a stoney leathery mummy, while leaving the brain and organs alive and immortal, unable to escape their prisons that is there own bodies.
Would be grimdark for a chapter master to be killed in such a manner and given a full honour burial while still be alive and trapped forever. Although I'm sure is brain and organs still being alive would be discovered when they harvest his gene seed. Still how would astartes fight a being they can't look at

      >how would astartes fight a being they can't look at
Lots of dakka in its general direction without aiming.
Even easier if the thing register on any form radar/sensor and they brought some form of artillery.

Chaos would do pretty good, seeing how the Warp is more or less a buffed-up, grimdark version of the Dreamlands. It'd even enjoy the protection of Nyarlathotep whose avatar in the Warp would be Tzeentch
The Hive Mind and the C'tan would also undoubtly be some type(s) of GOOs.
The Imperium would largerly stay the same. Lovecraftian deities are significantly less involved with (and aware of) mortal affairs than the Big 4. At most you'd get a couple of instances of the Inquisition getting trolled by Nyarly and a slight bumb in the abhuman population with the inclusion of Deep Ones and Ghouls.

I'm sure there would be the occasional apocalypse attempt from Nyarly every once in a while. Might even attempt to frick around with Terra.

Seethe, 40kiddy, you're the reason /tg/ is absolute shit.

You clearly have zero familiarity with either 40k or Lovecraft if you think anyone is going to argue in favor of 40k curbstomping ANYTHING itt

Better probably. The gods of the mythos are mostly indifferent to people. The gods of 40k are malevolent.

There used to be lovecraftian gods in 40k. The necrons shattered them into pieces and then weaponized the resulting pieces. Szarekh has one such piece powering his floaty chair to demonstrate that even the gods bow to The Silent King.

The C'tan were Great Old One level, at most.

Is cthulhu ever shown erasing someone from the time stream? Because that is a feat the c'tan are stated to be capable of. As well as the necrons realizing sharing was necessary as killing them was bad for reality as a whole.

Outer Gods are quite literally creation itself. Chaos doesn't even register on the scale to them

      >necessary as killing them
The fact they can be damaged at all puts them on the lower end of the power scale

There HAS to be at least one reference to him in the early Rogue Trader books, right?

the lovecraft mythos is clearly able to exist alongside 40k. They're deepspace unknowable beings. They're things that are not confined to realms. Beings that hold no emotions and float between witch space and physical reality on planetary scales with no motive other than being.

Should be reminded, that 40k exists in one galaxy and not the known universe. In universe doesn't even know where tyranids came from other than outside the galaxy.

How could it exist when yuggoth isn’t a thing and the great race of yith isn’t a thing. You guys just say this shit because it sounds cool in your head.

The races would be regularly warred with by everyone.
The Old Ones would be the target of Chaos and the necrons. The former don't like the competition and the latter are so demented they think the war is still on and are all "I DON'T CARE HOW MANY TENTACLES YOU GROW YOU FROGGY BASTARD! SUMMON THE MONOLITHS!"
Outer Gods would just manipulate events for shits and giggles.

I feel like the Imperium would be the perfect entity to fight them because the lovecraftian bullshit pries open your mind and fricks you up by making you doubt the things you know and showing things that defy reality and can't be rationalized. The Imperium is all about denying that shit with fervent close-mindedness. There is no doubt in the mind of a space marine, no crack to force open.

Chaos is just the Dreamlands. The Old Ones would just replace the C'tan as the Materium Gods the Necrotyr pledged themselves too. The Outer Gods wouldn't give a frick.

The entire pantheon would get fricking rekt by a squad of ultramarines with a single named character.

Unironically the Forest Goblins and the Eightfold Watchers in Fantasy/Age of Sigmar seem to worship some aetheric entity that is like Atlach-Nacha.

Hashut would probably be analagous to Ghatanothoa.

The All-Devouring Flame in Age of Sigmans would be Cthugha (but I think of her as a cute girl)

Shoggoths exist as servants of the Chaos Gods in Fantasy

Star Vampires are the C'tan in 40k and used to be considered able to give the Dark Gods a run for their money when they ascended to become the Star Gods

Rat-thing is Skaven obviously, the Great Horned Rat is Y'Golonac

Stench, Nurglol, Korn and the other one don't have explicit 1:1s because the Outer Gods appear to be basic formless concepts rather than specifically based on human fears.

The most important thing to note also is that Chaos Gods are stuff of the Warp given consciousness through the mortal races shitting the place up mentally, while the Cthulu gods existed before and will exist after humans are extinct and bug people rule the earth in millions of years.
