Even as a fan this is really bad. What’s the point of whaling? What’s the point of getting good weapons? What’s the point of leveling new characters?

Why are you all literal retards? Every time I come here I feel like I’m talking to the drooling retards that I saw on the short bus and used to avoid.

Why are you all so god damn stupid? I never meet anyone this stupid in real life.

Why would they? They want this cash cow to live as long as possible. Unless they pull an Overwatch 2 and make it possible to transfer your characters to the sequel.

Good. Spiral is the only end game that should be there. They should rightfully focus on story and music.

Why not just make something fun like the hidden strife event permanent

        Anonymous

The problem with making such a thing permanent is that when it is permanent, no one wants to do it because they'd rather do the "normal" content. When game modes are only available for a short time, everyone wants to play them and finding games is quick. It's basic FOMO psychology but it leaves you thinking "I can't wait for this to come back" instead of "man, why did they add this?" Compare it to fishing.

If fishing were a one-off event it would be a cute minigame. Instead we have an obnoxious grind piece of game forever.

          >thinking "I can't wait for this to come back" instead of "man, why did they add this?"
moron, no one is excited for tower defense or cube boss rush getting reruns because they are fucking AWFUL in the first place

            Anonymous

The first Tower Defense mode was great and I wanted more. When they brought it back they ruined it.
With that said, if anything you're proving the point even MORE accurate - imagine if Tower Defense and Cube Boss Rush were permanent and, worse, required? Fuck that.

Genshit had enough time limited gimmicks by this point that they could put them into weekly rotations and just make that a pernament thing. But then they wouldnt be able to recycle their event gimmicks anymore for the next 6 patches.
Also, what sort of argument is that, you'd rather see content removed instead of improved?

But why? Genshin has enough content right now that I finished 100%ing 3.0 pretty much 3 days before 3.1 came out. I didn't no-shower it, took my time, and had possibly my best 5 weeks in the game since it game out.
                >you'd rather see content removed instead of improved?
That's a strawman of what I am saying. The satisfaction with a constant cycle of timed events is not comparable to a desire to see content removed. I wouldn't shed a tear for fishing getting nixed, but I haven't asked for that - I just implied "it would have been better if it had ended with the Moonfin event."

The cube bosses first run was kino
It was the first event that truly was hard and required strategy, and somewhat whaled units, on top of having Osial's theme which is already awesome.

Because it becomes another thing to do on top of ongoing events and spiral. I like having nothing else to do because I go explore and discover new hidden things.

I like having events be limited time. Like

And that is genuinely a good thing. Genshin's best aspects have nothing to do with boss rush time trials or endlessly grinds. I'm going to spend another $100 in the cash shop right now, because this is such good news.

    "Endgame content" doesn't generate revenue.
Old timers (relative term, mostly anyone who played this or any other gacha game for longer than few months) don't generate revenue.
    On the other hand:
Shiny new characters (who won't get bodied by said "endgame content") generate revenue.
Newcomers with no good units/stock pile of resources print money.

    It's not rocket science.

The point is the journey and to fund the games they really want to make. They don't want a vocal minority to take over and destroy the game as it has many others.
