Hoyoverse is collaborating with Lucasfilm Games on a Star Wars Gacha project

>Set 300 years after the final destruction of the Sith on Exegol, the New Jedi Order venture throughout the galaxy to build new Jedi Temples and reestablish the reach of their, now ancient, philosophy.
>However, one of the Jedi expansion teams might be in over their head as the remnants of a dark side outpost begin to corrupt not just the planet their new temple resides on, but the Jedi themselves.
Gameplay is described as an action RPG experience but with the "closed world" adventuring of Honkai Star Rail.
The game is being made in part due to the overwhelmingly positive response to Star Wars Visions, and will have a limited 4 episode prologue anime released on Disney+

I don't have any other information beyond that. Release date and platforms are still up in the air.

they were surprised how popular cash cow it became. homosexuals literally struck gold, now they can use that money to advertise and gain influence on western audiences.

        >consolefag doesn't understand how live service games work
What he means is that genshin profits dropped a ton after the release of Honkai Star Rail because it didn't bring new players, and instead it made most of them from Genshin. Meaning that most people don't wanna deal with hoyoshit outside of the weeb normalfags.
ZZZ will probably do the same, it means hoyo games aren't breaking into new audiences, which for console games that is good because you can keep selling them new games, but for live service it is a nightmare. Same shit might happen with this new Star Wars game, because the target will be the same weeb normalfags with some extra numbers from the star wars audience (which again might still include the normalfags that play hoyoshit).

The vast majority of live service games are quick pump and dumps for around a year and then they shut down and the next 0one pops up. Ones like Genshin are the exception and not the rule.

Star Wars as an IP has been circling the drain since the Special Edition rerelease. Gacha kusoge is the next logical step to wring money from its zombie corpse. Sasuga Disney.

That's a solid setup for a self contained era

No it's not, they're not going to do anything that hamstrings follow up stories like that. They're already struggling with the ST creating 30 years of dark times after the OT.

Sure it is. The era itself is based on expansion, while the protags of this story are contained in a mini-plot about dark side outposts. Reminds me of how they did Uprising

Based on expansion... in an already explored galaxy, and hinging on their being 300 years of jedi nothing after the sequel movies??

I don't know how you don't see the potential of a new order setting up outposts throughout the galaxy while going on missions. It's pretty clean but as far as star wars eras go

Visions was only good because the studios were free to experiment outside the usual SW constraints
An official game would not be allowed to stray away from those

I've stated this before but I'd spend hundreds on Azur Lane but Star Wars. Make it happen, Disney.

I'm really surprised there's no modern star wars gacha. Pulling Jedi feels so obvious.

Its good thing even if its fucking gacha, truly these are dark times
Maybe they at least draw more alien Jedi, not just humans and human looking ones
