The Alliance should have easily crushed the Horde in a war.

Axe always loses to guns and mechs. Orc culture would get steamrolled in like a week.

just looked at alpha screenshots again.
the game would have been great if they kept it low stakes, and less marvel-y
make it about the world, not about some named hero characters

Town raids are problematic because they make a small portion of the community seethe.

        >problematic
yeah thats the point of open pvp, to make it problematic.
thats the whole idea of mmorpgs, that you kill their flightmaster, kill the auctioneers, try to kill their faction leader, annoy their levelling players so high level players come to their aid...

I agree with you and think it's sad that likely less than 10% of the player base has had pvp relegated to what it is now. Ganking newbs and pissing in their cereal is part of online games.

the whole game was designed for it to a certain extent
how youre pretty safe when starting out
mid level zones forcing you to cross paths, some quests being more difficult because they are near frequented routes of the enemy
            late game zones becoming worse
            similar to eve online

in one of th e very first raids of the game you fought against an elemental lord of fire and soon after that an old god from space.

    >The Alliance should have easily crushed the Horde in a war.

The Alliance has repeatedly crushed the Horde. The Horde won the First War. Then lost the second. Then in WoW, the Horde lost in MoP, and then lost in BFA, the very expansion your image is from. The only reason the Horde exists anymore is due to marketing. They're a failed faction.

the horde didnt lose in MoP it was literally horde retaking Orgrimmar.

...From the leader of the Horde. Yeah, I'm sorry, I forget that every time the Horde fricks up, it's always the 'old' Horde who are the problem.

not the leader at the time :^)

For real though, that's just reason number seventeen why the Horde existing doesn't fricking make sense. Thrall reforms the Horde in Warcraft III, and makes them more about their shamanistic roots? Okay. Cool. Interesting idea. A distinct difference between the 'Old Horde,' and Thrall's 'New Horde.' Then Garrosh comes along, and turns them into warmongers again, and wants to take over the world. THIS requires a 'New, New Horde' to dethrone him! THEN, a few years later, fricking Sylvanas does the same exact goddamn thing, and the same exact goddamn thing happens, like I'm watching a rerunof a TV show.

It's Blizzard's writing, I know, but there's no reason the Horde should exist at this point. In the very least, not after Sylvanas.

if you think bad leaders that needed to be beheaded by its population because they acted out is unrealistic or bad writing then I recommend some history books.

Well considering the Horde tried to A. take over the world with Garrosh, and B. just literally try and kill as many people as possible, because Sylvanas was a moron, who thought a guy named "The Jailer of the Damned" was on the level, it might go a little beyond what you're considering.

I've been following these games since I was a kid. I'm only a nerd by happenstance at this point. The story is super, super fricking moronic. Like, really fricking moronic.

                thats what im saying.
                simply because they marvel-ized it.
it started innocently after they hired some guys from warcraftmovies to make their in-engine cinematics, but became basically a series with a cast of wc3 heroes and its bad on many levels.

Realistically neither of them would have fought the other except in small scale skirmishes

    >Both Stormwind and Orgrimmar are focused on building their small civilizations after near apocalyptic events
    >Horde just chilling in Kalimdor trying to survive
    >Humans rebuilding their empire
    >Night Elves trying to regrow their forest and dealing with being mortal
    >Forsaken trying to gain the upper hand in a broken realm full of multiple warring factions, bandits, scourge, rogue wizards, trolls and gnolls and scourge, all in the shadows
    >Jaina building a new society for the Lordaeron diaspora and reaching out to survivors back in the East
All the conflicts in WoW were extremely contrived for the purpose of gameplay. The races of WoW would have zero interest in going to war over nothing on the other side of the planet, especially only 4 years after the 3rd war.

Magic of all kinds is so theoretically overpowered that basically all the races are sitting on WMDs and are unwilling to fully commit to a war. A dragon, a large delegation from the Kirin Tor, lead by Rhonin, and a variety of very powerful neutral factions all committed to protecting Theramore Isle from Garrosh Hellscream, and after Garrosh said frick it he dropped a mana bomb and flattened the place despite the absolute maximum amount of magical experts short of the god of magic itself defending. Immediately after that, Jaina picks up an artifact and has to be begged and cajoled to not flood and destroy the entirety of Orgrimmar singlehandedly. War won't ever get too dangerous for either faction, it's just a game played for territory.
Also, Night Elves aren't that good at magic. They're good Druids, Archers, and Warriors, but the magic specialists split off for the most part to become blood elves.

Also add Dranei having super magic and tech after the shit they are shown to be capable of at the end of Legion it’s kind of moronic the Alliance doesn’t just delete the Horde from orbit or why Dranei don’t view everyone on Azeroth as backward savages compared to themselves.

The Undead chemical weapons seem to be one of the most deadly weapons at the very least. Long-range, carpets entire zones, incurable and incredibly hard to cleanse areas affected by it.
