Torvus with one temple key. I think I need the grapple beam at this point but have no fricking idea where it is. I don't want help, just putting the game down for today and wanted to get some discourse going.
Gone underwater yet? There's like a big area underneath the room where you fought a bunch of pirates that looks like a huge wheel where you have to fight the guardian for it. I believe you need the powerup that lets you shoot multiple targets at once to get very far into it though
First, I don't think there should be a Metroid movie.
Second, I despise American blacks as a group and I firmly believe anything that bolsters their collective ego only results in a worse society.
am i really in the minority if i think prime is better than echoes? i just think echoes' level design bordered on insulting, the key hunt is horrible whereas prime's was at least bearable, and dark world is a shit gimmick. sanctuary fortress was really cool i guess but it doesnt make echoes the kino that prime is
wait you dont have the seeker missiles?
Btw without the hint system you will never find where they are because the game puts it in the most out of nowhere area check the temple grounds
Luminoth saw the meteor coming and used experimental tech to send it to an alternate dimension version of their own planet to avoid the impact.
This bit them in the ass when the alternate version of their world, which was already a pretty fricked place, got a Phazon upgrade and leaked into their version
No, the Phazon meteor is what caused Dark Aether to appear in the first place. The planet created the parallel world because of how the Phazon reacted to the Luminoth's technology using light energy.
The meteor causing the appearance of Dark Aether doesn't really make sense in the context of the Ing ecology lore.
I think they were implied to have been around for a very long time, and not suddenly all popped into existence when the meteor hit.
Phazon does some fricky shit, it can sprout a new species just like that if the circumstances are right. I don’t remember if it’s ever explained in the Luminoth lore how long it was between the meteor crashing and the Ing invading, but the war itself lasted long enough to almost wipe out the Luminoth after they spent the time developing weapons and technology specifically to counter the Ing. I’d imagine at first there wouldn’t be many Ing and the species evolved to what you see in game throughout the war, developing to overcome all the Luminoth.
Corruption implies the Emeror Ing like possibly Metroid Prime came from Phaaze as the Phaz-Ing but became much bigger (from feasting on the Light of Aether I guess).
>I think they were implied to have been around for a very long time, and not suddenly all popped into existence when the meteor hit.
where are you getting that? The entire point was they suddenly arrived and nearly BTFOed all the luminoth in a short amount of time
If they were portrayed as mindless and only operating off instinct, sure the meteor just made them, whatever.
But they're said to have a social hierarchy, and if I remember right they even have language?
No, the Phazon meteor is what caused Dark Aether to appear in the first place. The planet created the parallel world because of how the Phazon reacted to the Luminoth's technology using light energy.
I don't give a frick who does it but live action is and always will be shit
We got good voices for Samus thanks to the based Spaniards giving us a good Samus voice and Raven Beak being deliciously deep and metal as frick. Personally, I hope that VA for Raven Beak gets more work, put him in as Ganondorf even, man would make for a great Dorf VA
And frankly I don't care if blacks are shown in a fricking metroid movie because we already have the best one, Anthony "REMEMBUH ME?" Higgs.
But it's either animation or bust, because live action can not and will never work with what Metroid offers
Wiimote is my favorite way to play by far
the Trilogy versions of the games have some minor drawbacks like some missing graphical effects and shoddily rewritten lore, but wiimote controls make up for it
Gamecube controller is the best way to play. Game is designed around that and it adds to the atmosphere. Plus the gc normal difficulty is hard on the wii. Basically, if you play wii version of the trilogy on normal difficulty, you're literally playing on easy mode
I really fricking hate the wiimote controls. My arm gets fricking tired having to hold it up just to look where the frick i'm going. Give me the gamecube controller instead. I really fricking hate that they don't give you an option to switch to the pro controller or something for people who don't like the wiimote.
Anyone who complains about this is just being a pol schizo. I would happily have a black Samus in a game or a movie. As long as the actual product is good, why should I care?
>b-but muh SJWs!
Not my problem. SJWs ruin things by making the actual game/movie a piece of trash. You're just hyperfocusing on the skin color for no reason. You're the same kind of person that thinks that TF2 is shit because there's a black guy in it.
>As long as the actual product is good, why should I care?
Fallacious statement. If something is good then by definition it isn't bad, you've written the conclusion to the discussion into the premise.
Generally I'm not a fan of making large changes to well established characters for no reason. Everyone already knows Samus is white, why make her black?
She had green/brunette hair for a very short amount of time, they were still feeling out her character design. If she'd had green/brunette hair for the last 30 years but then decided to give her blond hair now then yes I'd consider it a bad decision. Also you're the one that used the word "ruin", I never said that.
>She had green/brunette hair for a very short amount of time, they were still feeling out her character design. If she'd had green/brunette hair for the last 30 years but then decided to give her blond hair now then yes I'd consider it a bad decision.
Then was it a bad decision for Prime to NOT have her outside of her suit in the end? They'd established her as "le sexy bombshell" shit for nearly 12 years, and then decided to not do that. Yet I found the game much better for it.
People didn't complain about Anthony Higgs being black, because Anthony Higgs wasn't already an established character
Instead they complained that his introductory line was "Remembah me?" because he wasn't already an established character.
Explore harder
where you at?
Torvus with one temple key. I think I need the grapple beam at this point but have no fricking idea where it is. I don't want help, just putting the game down for today and wanted to get some discourse going.
easy to get lost there, good luck anon
grapple beam is in lower torvus
Did you get Seeker Missiles yet?
literally the most confusing part of the game
i swear there's no confusing parts, your map will Navi Hey Listen if you're fricking off
Gone underwater yet? There's like a big area underneath the room where you fought a bunch of pirates that looks like a huge wheel where you have to fight the guardian for it. I believe you need the powerup that lets you shoot multiple targets at once to get very far into it though

Based, though I wouldn't mind a Metroid movie.
this game is SO TIGHT.
tell me where you are so that i may guide you OP
Prime 2 is great. Don't feel bad if you need to ask for help.
Did somebody make a video about this game or something? I keep seeing it pop up
We always play Metroid in the fall
am i really in the minority if i think prime is better than echoes? i just think echoes' level design bordered on insulting, the key hunt is horrible whereas prime's was at least bearable, and dark world is a shit gimmick. sanctuary fortress was really cool i guess but it doesnt make echoes the kino that prime is
oh and dont get me started on the boss battles my god was there a single good boss in the whole game
People like Quadraxis but I agree overall, Grapple Guardian and Alpha Blogg were standouts for shit boss design.
No, Echoes improves on the first game in a few areas but I definitely think it's the weaker game overall.
Either use your visor to comb the levels for something highlighted in red, or look for a hole, literally nothing else to do in prime games.
Turn on hints from the settings
>turn on hint on settings
>one of the hint is turning on hints to get himtd
I refuse
I guess but frick I already tried down there and felt like I was thoroughly told to frick off and come back with a better suit.
No
wait you dont have the seeker missiles?
Btw without the hint system you will never find where they are because the game puts it in the most out of nowhere area
check the temple grounds
I hate the overt hint system in Prime, but thanks. I've been wasting like 3 hours.
There's a much worse backtrack trip later in the game.
To save you the trouble, It's the deep underwater room.
I wouldn't want anybody playing Samus in a live-action movie because a Metroid live action movie is a terrible idea.
it doesn't hurt the game or anything, but why is the world split into a light and dark world, that's just some magic shit
the blurred lines between technology, nature, and the supernatural are what makes Metroid good
Lead director played ALttP before the game started production
an excuse for the dark beam and dark samus
But Dark Samus isn't from Dark Aether.
Luminoth saw the meteor coming and used experimental tech to send it to an alternate dimension version of their own planet to avoid the impact.

I don't remember this. Didn't the meteor strike Aether and split it into the two versions of itself?
This anon VVVV is correct.
I don't give a frick who does it but live action is and always will be shit

WOOO EEEE WEEE-OO-EE-OO WOOO-EEEE-WOOO
WOOO EEEE WEEE-OO-EE-OO WOOO-EEEE-WEEE
holy FRICKING kino
GOD DAMN
Man if only mp3 wasn't shit ;_;
based, you only need the widescreen hack + widescreen hud for prime 2
What's the ideal way to play this game? Emulated GC/Wii? Gamepad/wiimote/mouse controls?
1. (best) emulated with an Xbox 360 controller
2. real hardware
3. (wost)primehack mouse keyboard, or xbox 360 dual analog
You think primehack is worst?
is the most comfortable control scheme but it trivializes the game
Wiimote is my favorite way to play by far
the Trilogy versions of the games have some minor drawbacks like some missing graphical effects and shoddily rewritten lore, but wiimote controls make up for it

imagine if samus was suddenly a black women in metroid prime 4
see how moronic that sounds?

Generally I'm not a fan of making large changes to well established characters for no reason. Everyone already knows Samus is white, why make her black?
She used to have green/brunette hair, does that instantly ruin all future Metroid games if they don't abide by that mandate?
She had green/brunette hair for a very short amount of time, they were still feeling out her character design. have a nice day ACgay
why are people replying to the lowest quality of bait? There is no metroid movie, stop acting moronic
100% a Bot post
It's happening more and more, my phone posting friend
If they happen to be black? Sure, but if Samus was made black intentionally for the sake of it then the actor would probably be phoned in as frick.
Prime 3 was a wet fart of a game and the one on NDS was soulless
You now remember Federation Force.
