I recently played through it for the first time in years. I used to be one of those people who thought 2 was the best because it was the first one I played.
I was wrong so dang wrong.
>mass effect 2 is the game that basically caused /vg/ to be created
>it wasn't even all that good
Wasn't it LoL that spawned /vg/? Or DotA, or some other ASShomosexualS game?
maybe they were part of it but endless ME2 generals were the main thing that started it
ME2 is easily one of the best games of all time, shitters.
Here are my gripes with 2. Not saying it's bad, just not as good as 1.
Planets don't feel like how planets do in 1. Just set pieces that you go do a mission on and leave.
Combat and RPG mechanics feel dumbed down compared to the first. Thermal clips are fine, but the guns sounded and looked much better in 1.
Combat boils down to having to stay in cover and blast abilities like crazy because you might run out of ammo on harder difficulties, and you will die very quickly to enemies.
Reapers not being treated like a threat by the Citadel, even though one of them attacked the citadel and ohh by the way its massive corpse is missing.
Character quests and story are much more fun. The Normandy 2 is a much cooler ship.
Also romancing in Mass Effect is gay. As a commanding officer you should not be diddling your subordinates.
>Planets don't feel like how planets do in 1. Just set pieces that you go do a mission on and leave.
The problem is that planets in 1 were empty and mostly copy pasted. There were some cool standouts obviously, but they were far and few between.
>Combat boils down to having to stay in cover and blast abilities like crazy because you might run out of ammo on harder difficulties
That's also the first game. Getting out of cover, especially on higher difficulty is a death sentences. Doesn't help that your companions drop like flies.
>Reapers not being treated like a threat by the Citadel
Yeah, that's a bad retcon later retcon again into the Council just trying to not cause a panic.
>Also romancing in Mass Effect is gay. As a commanding officer you should not be diddling your subordinates.
Didn't stop me from doing it with Ashley
>That's also the first game. Getting out of cover, especially on higher difficulty is a death sentences. Doesn't help that your companions drop like flies.
I genuinely never had this problem. Playing on Insanity obviously. Do you guys just not use the "crew positioning" buttons or something? I mostly take my bros Garrus and Wrex, position Garrus on the outside of the battlefield, then barrier up and run in with Wrex and frick shit up (as Vanguard).
The only hard parts are the fight against Geth Colossus on Therum and the fight against the geth army just before Saren arrives on Virmire. The meme krogan battlemaster after saving Liara was hard in the original too, but they nerfed him in the Legendary Edition.
>Just set pieces that you go do a mission on and leave.
I actually liked this. Gave each area a unique vibrant feel.
>Combat boils down to having to stay in cover
This was my biggest gripe and problem ME3 had as well.
me2ddlers with their shitty take again
He's right though 1gay
the bioware that made this game is long long dead
Is the Remastered trilogy worth it?
I only played 1 + 2 many moons ago.
Yeah it's worth it, if for no other reason than to revisit the galaxy. 2 & 3 are basically just re-textures but there are some additional QoL improvements in 1 that make it more bearable to play today
>Well, what about Shepard?
>He grew up in the Colonies. He knows how tough it can be out there. His parents were killed by Slavers, and saw his whole unit die on Akuze.
>He could have some serious emotional scars
>Every soldier has scars
>Shepard is a survivor
>Is that the kind of person we want protecting the galaxy?
>That's the only person who CAN protect the galaxy
>I'll make the call
>Well, what about Shepard?
>Earthborn, but no record of her family.
>Doesn't have one. She was raised on the streets. Learned to service all sorts of wieners.
>She milked an entire Batarian unit dry on Torfan.
>Is that the kind of bawd we want servicing the galaxy.
>That's the only kind of bawd who can.
>I'll make the booty call.
For me, it's always Earthborn Ruthless
>Well, what about Janny?
>He grew up on Reddit. He knows how problematic it can be out there. His parents were killed by the vax, and saw his whole discord group die on liveleak.
>He could have some serious genital scars
>Every troony has scars
>Janny is a survivor
>Is that the kind of person we want moderating Ganker?
>That's the only person we CAN afford to moderate Ganker!
>I'll make the call
lol these games suck ass
nah but you are a massive homosexual so I know it's not your fault you have shit taste
combat sucks, the setting is shitty star trek for trannies, graphics are ass, music is gay, not a real rpg
name a better scifi rpg
elex
OH HELL NO.
YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE GOTHIC 2 homosexualS
even fallout 3 is better than ass effect
That game is dogshit
cool cool so we're not engaging in a good faith discussion then, your complaints are dismissed
such a mediocre series. just like kotor.
sad that this is the best vidya sci-fi.
I used to just keep the TV on to listen to this MAJESTIC theme.
Amazing
I played through all these games and I still don't understand what N7 means.
it's a specOps special forces thing in the alliance. sort of like the Green Berets
All of those promises of great things to come after the ending of ME1
All wasted
One day I will make a remaster and fix everything that EA fricked up with the story. One day.
