New Vegas ironically turned out to be correct after all, because while this is obviously Tenpenny Tower from Fallout 3 it's less obviously the version that's in Tale of Two Wastelands and therefore technically it's New Vegas. The shade of the piss filter gives it away.

Tenpenny was supposed to be in the downtown area but they redesigned it and made it smaller so they awkwardly moved the tower elsewhere.

The thing with big open world games like Bethesda's is that they're all about immersion. Immersion can break for a number of reasons, and for some folk it's thinking about how most game cities have no given reason for how they're sustained in situations where they can't just import everything. Funny enough Tenpenny Tower is one of the ones where you COULD just say they pay for all goods to be delivered via caravans since they have plenty of money

      >big
But this Tower opposite of that. When you get on top of that you can see entire map and that's instant ruin of the immersion. It's not a big world it's a toy theme park. It's not gonna IRL work when factions live literally next corner to each other. Bethesda's started nu Fallouts were mistake.

now how much to hire Burke, and collect the resources for a mini town with numerous shops + security ?

            Anonymous

Burke demonstrated that 500 caps is enough to pay a rando to arm the nuke, he expected that to be enough too but was willing to go to 1000 caps max which is chump change in the games economy.
If anything it's those things you listed in this post that are proof of his immense wealth & not the measly amount his henchman was willing to pay.
Anyway I never stopped to think about how comically cheap it is to blow up a settlement until your post inadvertently illuminated just how ridiculous it is that burke sits there for eternity waiting for someone to do it for a measly 500 caps.

What's even more dumb is him trying to recruit from the same town as well.
Problem with the price is the quest is just entirely too short, so it'd break early game. And there was nothing from the side of the church. Megaton for being the predominant first-town for most players, was incredibly barren of content.

This is probably the most insane thing about it, way to exponentially increase your chances of getting caught lol.

If he told you you'd get a place to live it'd be a lot more convincing & the church thing always bothered me, you basically have no interaction with them at all besides donations, really thats the whole town outside moira & jericho. You don't even lose moira if you blow the place up & you can save jericho by having him with you when you do it & neither of them give a shit if you do it anyway so there's very little in the way of consequences for doing it.

It's incredible how influential that one G. R. R. Martin interview turned out to be. It was a simple, off the cuff, tongue in cheek comment not intended to be disrespectful, just a way to illustrate how he thinks about his world, and then morons latched onto it, every fantasy setting had to pass a 'realism' test suddenly.
    >uuuhhh, WHAT DO THEY EAT THOUGH?
    >WHAT'S THEIR TAX POLICY LIKE???
    >No answer? Shit setting!
I do not miss the Walking Dead or the GoT hype era whatsoever.

Ironic we never learn what the taxation system in westeros is like. Also, the framing of LotR is that it is the translation of an ancient manuscript, which would not have to include such details, but GRRM doesn't know that because the lazy frick probably never read it.
He has one point though, if you are creating a novel setting, but you don't even bother thinking about it for more than 5 minutes to make it believable, why have a novel setting at all?

        >if you are creating a novel setting, but you don't even bother thinking about it for more than 5 minutes to make it believable, why have a novel setting at all?
Dark Souls 1 would have been far less magical if it had tomes explaining everything.
Plus that idea and GRRM discount the entire idea of surrealism too.

stories don't need to be believable on a technical level to be enjoyed
          >no its the nanomachines in his nose that makes it grow, there's a lie detector in his left nostril thats why, read the lore, its canon dipshit

True, if the themes and tone of the setting are not concerned with something, you shouldn't bother. I guess believable is the wrong word, consistent would be better maybe? But resource scarcity is a major element in Fallout 3, the main plot point is the water purifier, it would have made the world feel better if other resource need were also adressed.

I wouldn't have given it much thought if the game didn't deliberately go out of its way to shove the dissonance of muh poisoned water & lack of plants due to said water as the whole reason my character is leaving the vault while virtually everything outside that main quest acts like this isn’t a problem in the slightest. They didn't themselves any favors by aggressively drawing attention to the game breaking its own logic in such a painfully obvious way.
