Ah, that's a common one, Things get really interesting when you doesn't plan this kind of stuff ahead and most of trainers are already defeated, last time I remember I used a swimmer south of Pallet Town
It bothers me that there's still no glitches that allow to reset event flags and no software that lets you set and unset flags withing the save file as you please
fyi you don't even need a second npc to get your game out of "battle mode" anymore. using strength on a boulder and saving + reloading for whatever fricking reason also works
but how are you supposed to use strength or save your game if you can't open the pause menu because the game thinks an npc should be walking up to you?
don't you still need to use the pause menu to use hms in gen 1 though? i'm pretty sure that the whole "press a while facing a rock/tree/water" thing was added in gen 2.
after you save from the pc and reload, the start menu functionality is restored. from there you can use strength to move a boulder, then proceed with the glitch
What npc trainer did you use to summon Mew? just curious

i didn't know any trainer could do the job
you've learned me something today
Just do the teleport part, this open the cheat and the rest of the steps are to define which pokémon you wanna cheat. You can get any with this way
Teleport, Dig, Scape Rope, all works.
Instead of beating a slowpoke, you can fight other pokémon and will get other results
Their first Pokemon has to have specific Special stat.
isn't it their last pokemon?
yes it is the last
If I don't plan this sort of thing ahead I end up beating all the trainers.

Can't you do that with ACE?
You probably can but I haven't seen a ready setup for this. I'm too dumb (don't want to spend time looking into it) to do it myself
That's trivial to do with ACE but at that point you might as well trigger a mew battle through ACE directly.
Did you catch Pikablu and get the old man in Vermilion City to finish building your Gym?
character name?
what the frick, oak has a programmed lose quote? or is he pulling up some other npc's data
Just some other npc's quote
Bet you didn't get the lv100 Nidoking in Viridian Forest, before Brock.

frick, my bad, forgot to mention that you need to save using the pc. it's still responsive throughout the glitch

ahh, that makes more sense. your wording made it sound like you were supposed to push a boulder, THEN save and reload.
ah shit, yeah i just realized i got the order wrong. been a while since i needed to do it
why are these screenshots of two different emulators, one of which doesn't even seem to be exclusively a gameboy emulator?
I think it's troonyarch with different skins in both cases
It's retroarch with different controller skins.
