I do not see the appeal of this gaming device at all, and every time I attempt to play it I always fall asleep because I play it in bed. I will be laying in bed attempting to play a game on it, and within 5-10 minutes I'm fast asleep. I don't know if it's just me or that the games are all terribly boring.
I have no idea how anyone plays this in bed and doesn't fall asleep. What's funny is I never fell asleep playing my PSP or Gameboy Advance in bed, so I guess it's just me. I also remember spending hours and hours playing my PSP and Gameboy Advance in bed, but I can't even handle 20-30 minutes of Nintendo Switch while laying in bed, it just puts me straight to sleep. All the games are boring to me, and it doesn't help that they all run at 30 FPS at 480p, and Gameboy Advance and PSP had worse tech specifics and yet I found them more appealing. Maybe I am just a hipster? I don't know anymore. Every game I have attempted to play on Switch has put me to sleep, or I drop out of boredom. I don't know even know what people are playing on it? I assume it's gotta be Splatoon, Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash, or something like that. Is the fun factor suppose to be around multiplayer games? Because I don't really play multiplayer games on Switch. Maybe that's why I'm not getting into it, because I'm not playing Splatoon and Mario Kart. I never got into multiplayer based games, always preferred single player RPG/adventure stuff.
I'd say the Nintendo Switch isn't for someone like me, but I find that statement hilarious because I thoroughly enjoyed my Gameboy Advance and PSP, and they had weaker tech in them. I actually put 100+ hours into Golden Sun and 100+ hours into Final Fantasy: Dissidia, and yet I can't seem to find anything on Switch that captivates me and entertains me enough to keep me awake, despite the system having stronger tech than a PSP and Gameboy Advance.
It has games tho
But I find them all boring, and a lot of the games are available on PC.
Oh i forgot to add that I'm trans BTW not sure if that matters :3
We all knew that Lewis.
FUCK THE SWITCH!
I like it for arcade ports and simpler old-school styled 2d playing games. It's perfect for that. I say that as someone who hasn't bought a Nintendo system since the GameCube on launch day.
>What's funny is I never fell asleep playing my PSP or Gameboy Advance in bed, so I guess it's just me
Maybe try playing it outside of bed or play it docked lol. It could also just be a case where your older and fall asleep easier. I remember owning a 3DS when I was a kid and never falling asleep while using it in bed but once I got my steam deck a couple months ago, even though I can stream any game I own from my PC to it as well as having a decent backlog of games installed in it along with a fairly sizeable library of emulated games from NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Gamecube, and yes even the Switch, I find myself struggling to stay up, especially after a long day, while playing it in bed.
I might also have diabetes so it might just be fatigue thats keeping me sleepy.
>Diabetes
Good god, I hope I don't have diabetes. I was attempting to live a healthier lifestyle and I DID have more energy, but I fell off the wagon, and now I'm back to my usual habits. I do think the lack of energy is just from a poor diet, lack of physical movement, reliance on caffeine, etc. When I started moving more, eating healthier, and kicking caffeine, I noticed I had more energy. I also don't have the best sleep schedule, so that factors into it as well. I don't get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Frankly there are numerous reasons why I most likely can't stay awake while gaming in bed.
I could play it outside of bed but I find that retarded because I also own a gaming PC and a PS5, so why play the Switch outside of bed if I can just play PS5 or PC? I always figured being able to play the Switch in bed was one of the perks of the system? I mean, you could play PS5 in bed if it's set up in front of your bed, but mine isn't. I also just assumed people were playing their Switch in bed most of the time.
Sometimes when I play Switch to relax I play with the brightness turned down low in a dark room. Don't know if you have an OLED but I get fatigued from staring at screens without my blue light filter glasses. Also what games are you playing?
Well, I do have an OLED, never considered the brightness might be the issue. I don't own a pair of blue light filter glasses either, figured they were a meme anyway.
I can't remember what games I have on it, or what I was originally playing. It's usually single player RPG/adventure/action type games. I'm not really playing multiplayer/meme stuff.
Blue light is not a meme. There was almost an entire year I couldn't stand looking at my computer. When I got my new prescription lenses with filters I could do artwork with full colors again. Also you can go into the display settings via options to turn on or off vivid display. I'm playing on the V2. And the LCD switches have bright backlights. I can only play Switch without glasses with low brightness.
yeah this was the dumbest thing i think ibe bought. just bought it to play smash bros for a month then left it in my window. havent touched it in like 4 years
OP no one gives a shit about your special snowflake life. Do whatever you want. No one cares.

Psp was 20 years ago, you became a fat fuck without the energy to stay awake
Which games did you play?
If you didn't like to play pic related. Why didn't you get a Steam Deck instead?
