I'm not sure to be honest, the payoff I guess? I don't really know what I was expecting but I feel kind of disappointed. What is the significance of the quicksilver? The captain's doing some metal shit yelling and stuff and I'm just sitting there going "ok cool".
>struggling like a retard for hours on what feels like the next obvious set of logical connections >turns out that there are numbers on the hammocks that correspond with the number associated with each crewmate
the amount of times i got mad at a tattooed foot sticking out of a bed, wondering "HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HELP ME?", and the game was just trying to feed me information
boring meme game for pretentious fuckwits >oh yes this is so sophisticated oh my I am deriving quite a significant amount of enjoyment from this experience, yes I am indeed.
it insists upon itself
>at the tail end of the trail of corpses >have to start guessing >there's a staggering amount of people who disappeared >get them almost all at once, all of them fell overboard to Africa

With your brainpower, you might just as well be the deepest black kongolese nagger to ever exist.
I don't have the attention span for shit like this. Which is weird because I can sit through a 4 hour film like A Brighter Summer Day no problem. But with games I generally want to shut my brain off and just *do* things.
I love the game but it obviously has flaws. I doubt there are many who didnt look online for certain fates of survivors. Especially the topmen. If you did thats fantastic but its obviously such a major issue that many players had. The game could have given some more hints about the bunk numbers or men who fell overboard.
>that fucking guy who clearly is like scottish with Celtic warpaint/tattoos is supposedly papua-new guinean or some shit >the fucking chinks >the fucking hammocks >those times the game expects you to pick up certain details but the graphics are just too abstract to see >like a fucking third of the crew gets impaled by terrible beasts >and like a third of those you just have to guess because they get off-screen'd
>"bosun man your french guy got torn to shreds by the monster" >only one guy got torn apart >it's not that guy >it's some other guy that "fell overboard" offscreen and listed as disappeared
Just finished playing this today and was surprised at how well made the experience was, asking you to pay attention throughout and then rewarding you at every step.
Best thing about it was the three name system, haven't seen anything like this in a game before, very elegant.
The only confusing parts for me were
- thought the carpenter and his mate were the other way around
- the indian ship steward, his death was poorly telegraphed
- a couple of seamen who clearly look caucasian, yet were chinese
Too bad that other than this and Golden Idol there are no modern freeform detective games
Thinking man game.
what don't you get?

You had to be a sailor in one of your existence’s previous incarnations.
I wish I could forget it so I could play it again.
Also OST is great.
Yeah I just began playing (like 1 hour in) so I'd appreciate it if you guys refrained from posting spoilers in this thread.
Thanks,
Eric.
Hey Eric, the captain Robert Witterel is responsible for the death of every member aboard the Obra Dinn.
Thanks,
Phillip.
There's one scene in the cabin of the ship that nets you 50% of the crew.
devoid of any soul
Fuck the chinks
I literally just guessed the chinks
For me, it's Charles Hershtik, the noble and brave Midshipman
Isn't this just a retelling of the story of the Mary Celeste?
not at all, not even in the same ocean
Mermaids/Sea creatures wanted their magic conch back
/thread
Isn't this just a retelling of the story of Club Spongebob?
Terrible beasts just wanted to do some cheeky spiking.

Yeah I remember that, they're being attacked on the deck and just aren't there again after so you have to realize that's what did em in.
