I don't get it. Was the boy the blob? Or did the blob control the boy? Who's the girl?

Also why did some people help the blob? And why does the "base" have endless defenses on one side, but not the other?

You can't enter it from the other side, it's a cliff
People probably just 'helped' it because they wanted it to frick off

You're thinking too hard about it. You're meant to say "woah, cool" and move on.

      Honestly this

and there's nothing wrong with it. You can actually look a little deeper if you want, but it's intentionally vague and up to your interpretation.
      > Was the boy the blob? Or did the blob control the boy?
The boy and the blob are the same after the merge.

      >Who's the girl?
      A prior experiment

      >How does the giant sound wave thing not frick up everything?
I dunno, sure is cool though.

      >Also why did some people help the blob?
Some people get wrapped up in bad shit and feel bad about it. When the blob breaks free they're like 'oh! my meal ticket is already gone, I can be good! Frick my evil bosses!' Some probably also act out of fear.

another question is why the girl keeps killing you but decides to help you after you get to a certain point
why would she help you later if her goal was to kill you from the start?

She probably always does want to help you, but you're just not supposed to find that out until the point they have it planned for you

The entire game is a metaphor for the video game development process

      This
Each team member as an individual has their own formative experiences and ideals of what players want. They tend to work separately and isolated, artists rarely consort with programmers and sound designers, etc. Then the whole thing comes together at the end and you get little pieces of everyone's work mashed together in a "blob", which you can only launch out there and see if it sinks or swims

    theories:
boy was controlled by the blob
girls were always trying to help boy, but needed to be within range of that device that would give him underwater breathing.
soundwave device is underground - game is just one big descent - haven't seen the actual sun in ages.
people helped the blob to trick it into thinking it escaped. See pic related.

Whoa, when does that scene happen?

when you fall down the elevator shaft

What, is it in the background? Or do you mean it's implied by those scientists looking into the pit? I don't remember literally seeing that scene at all with another blob.

            it's another blob chamber.

The whole thing is pretty much Truman Show but everytime the huddle escaped, it enters new test chambers. I'm curious if the beginning of the game is an outside world or not. The landscape looked fairly post-apocalyptic which made the imagination going.

Weird game, didn't love it but it was interesting. Made the mistake of playing Limbo after Inside and that was dumb because Inside does everything Limbo does but better. Have these devs made anything since Inside?

      >Inside does everything Limbo does but better
Nah, Limbo's puzzles are definitely more challenging and creative. But limbo does atmosphere and narrative better. Before someone says limbo's atmosphere is better, I agree it's amazing, but it's very one-note. Inside explores a lot more vibes.

They're making a 3d game now with the premise of what i assume the player stranded in alien planet or something. It's still in development so i assume the scope will be much bigger with the same level of autism for detail. I think people speculate it to be similar to ICO but sci-fi.

      >Have these devs made anything since Inside?
Playdead has been working on a larger game since they finished Inside. There's basically NOTHING about it except for various images that suggests that it's either set after some global extinction event, or on a whole other planet where early attempts at colonization have failed for some reason.

        >3d
        🙁

One of the gameplay design leads left after inside. It won't feel the same, probably missing some of the 'cleverness' that kept limbo and inside fun even though they were casual.

        >but cool locations
Not enough. Go play Journey, you'll see what I mean.

And the guy's been developing pretty much the same thing now. I suppose there's more coherent story this time around, maybe.

Something something he was always an escapee from a laboratory and they were trying to hunt him down.

I don't actually think it had a deeper meaning other than in the end he got some manner of revenge on a sick, horrible society even if it turned him into a monster in the process.

There is no story. The game is just a series of random set pieces and weird events designed to bait people on YouTube into making up a story for them.

    This game was pure kino
The sound design really elevated the atmosphere
