I finally played RDR2, what did you guys think of it?

I finally played RDR2, what did you guys think of it? I found it to be a 6/10 probably, the gameplay was pretty boring and handheldy.

solid 9 for me. immersiveness, the world and the graphics really sold it to me. it's very beautiful. you must be pretty delusional to not give this at least 8

I just didn't care for the gameplay. If you were just put into the setting and had to figure shit out on your own I would've liked it more. I like games where it only tells you to get the money somehow but with rdr2 they tell you what to do all the time
      >tells you exactly where to go
      >go up to the metal door
      >press l1 to equip the dynamite
      >press r2 to place the dynamite
      >walk to the other side
      >press l1 to equip a rifle
      >press r2 to aim
      >press r2 to fire
      >now, go into the room
      >press triangle to loot
      >press triangle to loot
      >press triangle to loot
      >escape
It's like I am doing nothing , no different than watching a youtube video and tracing that player exactly

10/10, it was and is a masterpiece, I cannot think of any other game that's as good be it on technology, characters, story, graphics, gameplay. Anyone who says otherwise is completely delusional

i loved it but i don't think i'll ever play it again. playing through it took way too long and at some point, while i was still enjoying the story, i just wanted it to be over so i could put the game down.
maybe if i move to some concrete jungle i might miss nature enough to feel like playing it again, but right now i've got nature right outside of my house, more engaging gameplay in other games and plenty of highly regarded western films i haven't seen yet.

    9/10 masterpiece.
only reason i didn't give it a 10/10 is because of the collecting side missions being annoying as frick

I refunded. It was garbage. The overmocapped animations felt like I was playing with input delay and the online was filled with hackers

Does anyone else hate western settings? Never cared for cowboys. Btw, how does rdr2 compare to tsushima? Is that one any good?

Really not many games like it in terms of quality and adherence to immersive-ness. Game was literally made with blood, sweat, and tears considering how overworked the developers were. Personally a 10/10 for me, but I'm willing to deal with the stale gun fighting.

i liked exploring the world but the gameplay is fastidious and heavily scripted, even hunting which was the high point of RDR1. i wish they just made some fun minigames. every gameplay element is either the same as RDR1 or worse. it's sad that in such a big budget game, the most fun thing to do is to collect some birds.

World design is 10/10, absolute perfection.

The gameplay and everything else is 6/10 at best. Ridiculous they’d create such an amazing world and fill it with such mindless, trivial crap. The only actual good content is hunting and fishing.

I played it years ago and it was a boring slog. Didn’t even make it past the train

great world that's comfy to roam around and explore, mediocre core gameplay. Story is mostly good but dragged down by missions being far too railroaded.

Took forever to get into. Once I finally got through the first couple of hours it might be the best game I've ever played

The open world was pretty good, it was well written, funny sidequests but the gameplay itself was movie game tier and there really wasn't a huge amount of content for how big the map was, it was entertaining enough to play through but could have used like 2 or 3 times as much content, just more bounty hunter missions or more difficult stuff like that, it was one of the best looking open worlds I've played and quite entertaining at points but the main quest was kind of corny and it was somewhat lacking in terms of stuff to do

Stupidly amazing and tedious at the same time.

While the highs are super high and there's so much fund things to do, the game also has so much tedious shit. Travelling is tedious, upgrading gear is tedious (an unnecessary), missions are tediously linear and scripted, the goddamn looting animations...

With QoL mods (like remove looting animations), the game becomes like 9/10. Without, it's more like 7/10.

I prefer RDR 1, I think it's more comfy and fun to play in general. The music also is better and sets the mood much better as a spaghetti western.

    >murder entire town of Strawberry
    >its never brought up again
    >donate $1000 to camp fund while everyone else gives $5
    >whole camp shits on you for "not contributing" if you don't put in for 3 days

This game is the shining example of cognitive dissonance and only low IQ mutts rate it

    >wear a mask so I can rob some ranchers for some booze money and fresh meat
    >WANTED ARTHUR MORGAN BOUNTY 500 DOUBLOONS
WTF??? I just wanna be a rooting tootin desperado, but the game is pushing me to be a friendly neighborhood yes-man.

Yeah, I don't get what the point of the mask is. I put it on, completely change my clothes and rob some place I've been to like once and all if a sudden I'm wanted

Its a bad system. I can't remember the specifics but the mask allows you to flee the wanted zone and then you'll be in the clear or something like that. The game would have flourished as more of an RPG where choices mattered more. As it stands there is no real reason to be bad despite playing as an outlaw.

I don't think anyone has ever properly explained how the mask system ACTUALLY works. It's literally just playground rumors.

Immersive world that has a ton of period correct details. Really good story line. Awful, boring, and repetitive missions after awhile. Rockstar always trouble with variety in their missions.
