Bland sure, but forgettable isn't subjective. People say all the time that they barely remember these games, and only these games.

>but forgettable isn't subjective
What? it's literally the perfect example of a subjective statement. It's based entirely on your own feelings instead having any basis in objective reality. If I remember the game your "critique" is completely meaningless.
So this thread is just like you said: a declaration that nobody is allowed to criticize these games. This isn't up for debate. Subjectively or otherwise.
>a declaration that nobody is allowed to criticize these games.
You can criticize them. Just make actual critiques instead of "b-b-buh I can't remember it though"

Dude I played 138 hours on one cart of X and over 999 hours of Y and cannot for the life of me remember much of the games. If he's wrong for it being forgettable then I am too because the game just flew by. I don't hate the story or anything and it has been an AZ amount of years since I played the games but I can remember the other gens much more than X/Y.

Ok? I played 10 hours of X and I remember it perfectly.
See how fricking pointless this """criticism""" is?

Just because you view it as subjectve and therefore worthless doesn't hold true for others that take even the anecdotal evidence in consideration as worth of their time. It's still a fun and playable game. Is it going to leave a lasting impression more than other games? That too is subjective but most would say X/Y is like a quickie that lacks real depth.

Not remembering something isn't a 'feeling'. Sure, different people have different memories, but you can absolutely make objectively proclaim that a game is forgettable if enough people report that they've forgotten it. Like I said, this criticism is exclusive to XY. Nobody says they don't remember the other games, even the older ones.

>I gave up with rational discussion
You thought the last year of spamming deflection and coping was rational? I would hate to see what you call irrational discussion.
One of my fav gens. Love XY, love the anme, love Kalos, love the mystery of what could have been in a 3rd version, love Greninja, love the addition of Fairy type, love mega evolution, love the new mons made for Kalos.
I accept the game lacks content in certain areas (story could have been more fleshed out, some route-to-gym sequences are pretty bare), but overall, I think it's great.
They were the last Pokemon game I liked before beginning to feel burnt out on the franchise, but I feel gen 5 was where it peaked.
Liked
-Megas
-In general the transition to 3D
-Revamped EV and breeding mechanics to make things easier
-Fairy Type
-Most new pokemon designs
Disliked
-The fricking friend/rival squad. In particular the opposite gender protag feels like you are bullying them all game by constantly destroying their team. Instead of being a competitive rival, they are one that gets depressed over the string of defeats
-Barebones routes
.Mega Lucario forced on you
Aegislash was too stronk. Megas became cancerous. I liked EV training. I liked PSS and friends list safari zones.
Just wait for a weekday when all the children are in school
That's what you get for not listening. I told you discord troons are real.
>Makes another schizo thread
bruh
You are allowed to criticize them as long as you come up with actual critiques instead of "WAAAAH THERE'S A REFERENCE TO KANTO I DON'T LIKE"
That would require the game to leave any sort of lasting impression. It's only remembered for starting the regional gimmick trend and modern expshare.
>I-I don't remember it!!!
Then you have nothing substantial to say it's bad.
I just remembered it started affection bonuses too, if that helps.
"Forgettable" and "bland" are perfectly legitimate criticisms
Hence why these games are only ever brought up as bait
>"Forgettable" and "bland" are perfectly legitimate criticisms
They're completely subjective and therefore meaningless, so not really.

name every gym leader without looking it up
uhhhhhh there was that one grass photographer
and the rollerskates girl that gives you a lucario for free
I like Pokemon and I'd have a hard time stating all or most of every regions 8 gym leaders for any non-Kanto region.
