The vanilla version was better
How?
It was a better designed game. All the Royal additions are superfluous and don't take the original game into account at all, even the story just feels tacked on and self contained.
>even the story just feels tacked on and self contained.
But it's a better story than the vast majority of the rest of the game and beats the shit out of The Answer and Marie.
It's fine it's own thing but it doesn't mesh well with the base game plot at all, it's like a different game suddenly plays after you spent 100 hours doing P5. Also the last boss and ending are much worse.
Only thing wrong with the ending was letting Akechi live, that was pure retardation
The final cutscene is trash, the original ending on the road trip unbound by the chains that have held you in place all game is poignant and comes full circle with the main theme of the game. Royal end is just a retread of P4, totally misses the plot to accommodate the Royal plot.
bro P5's ending was already a retread of 4's
No it's not.
Yes it is.
I can think of a few
>Writing and characters are probably the weakest part of the game.
>Longest persona game
>Combat while great is relatively easy.
It's not a bad game but it's certainly not perfect either.
Royal is bloated you will be max level before the end of the game and the add on content was unnecessary for an already great combat system. I'm still baffled they didn't put that trait shit into a SMT V it would've fit perfectly there
OLD GAME GOOD
Some people just don't like weebshit or JRPGs.
I like P3 and P4 better but Royal fixed a lot of the problems I had with Vanilla and it's a solid game now. Crossing fingers P6 is at least decent.

I have a job, and I already played the original; it was 60+ hours of filler. I don't want to play through that again for 20-30 hours of new content (who knows how much of that content is worth my time anyways).
I can understand. There are few reasons explained in my poorly Engrish.
First, characters are spending way too much on talking about things they already said. They like repeating stuff over and over for no reason.
Second, for some reason you are not allowed to beat dungeons in one go. No, you have to get to one area after which you are forcefully ''expelled'' from it, then you have to find something in real life which will affect the dungeon's interior, aka removes the obstance, and then you can continue. AND you still have to send invitation for some reason.
Third, it's fucking annoying that you can't turn off that annoying
>Yo Joker, we have only 20 days until deadline, can we pls go grind
messages.
Fourth, the merciless difficulty is easier than hard. It makes absolutely no sense. AND if you use bonus music, you get OP personas with them. Yes, you don't have to use them. But why are they packed with music in the first place?
I like the game a lot and I can see why others wouldn’t like it. You’re a fucking autist.
Why wouldn't others like it?
Some people really hate turn based combat and only play action games.
It is just such a slugfest. Completed the game in 60 hours. In the end I skipped over so much talking, the high school drama is just not interesting. The dungeons and gameplay were fun, but unfortunately its only 30% of the game.
This is not a JRPG, its just a visual novel some JRPG portions.
The fuck is wrong with Akechi's skin tone?
Looks like a vampire
I dont like jrpgs, turn based jrpgs, anime, teenagers or highschool stuff, it’s easy to understand
That's because you're sane.
>X is good because....because [group I dont like] hates it!!
Yes.
Not that your opinion mattered but you're literally mindbroken by a group or mentally unstable chuds.
I'm in Shido's palace right now and finding out about this fag's retarded motivations and seeing how much the Phantom Thieves sucked his dick even though he's a scumbag really lowered my interest in this game. But I've already wasted 100+ hours playing this so might as well finish it.
I don't know how they fucked up so hard with Akechi when they got Adachi so right.
Akechi has the biggest ass out of all Phantom Thieves. So it's okay for him to have an attitude.
VAMONOS DE FIESTA FACTORY
The game blew its load way too early in the game, the p.e teacher was a good villain because everyone in your party had a personal grudge against him, but then everyone after that other than shido was lame. Also I hate how Akechi get sympathy from the thieves because hes young and good looking, would people sympathize with him if he was middle aged? Probably not.
Wrong, it's misdirection, and it's one the characters fall for in-game. The individual villains were never the problem, they were a symptom. The real evil from P.E. Teacher to prime Minister is the sloth of society, the fact that everyone knows something is wrong but let's it go on anyway. All the villains are just a reflection of this.
because this is better
But there's no social links in that game
>PS slapped
everytime
it's bland. it's boring.
the story is an extremely stale VN with all narrative branches coming down to
>"(non liberal) adults bad, friendship good!"
this VN encompasses 70% of the game's runtime and has some of the dullest one-note characters ever put on a screen
gameplay is barebones turn-based pokemon "find the weak element" except even pokemon has miles more depth to it
the dungeons are boring and linear
it drags on for over 100 hours despite what boring milquetoast shit it is
the only reason anyone likes this game is because they are zoomers that like the flashiness of the menus and UI
these same zoomers will shit on other turn-based jrpgs for being stale and boring while shilling the blandest jrpg released in the last decade
i didn't hate it, but i sure as fuck didn't care for it
Yoshizawa is a shit character and the Akechi fujoshi pandering makes the game suffer
>Yoshizawa is a shit character
But when she stretches it gives me a boner
Its way to long for no reason, very padded out with scenes that are just boring. Its the only persona game I dropped from how poorly paced and boring it was, especially since the combat stops being engaging after the first dungeon. I'd be 15 levels above whatever dungeon I was doing from the start just because I would get all the stamps on each section of the mementos and you just auto kill everything you encounter while shitting out tons of exp.
Also the main cast is awful. They have basically zero chemistry outside of the first three characters and most characters basically will just stand in the background after they join doing fucking nothing.
I think a good example is how often I see art pairing yusuke and futaba together when they only had two scenes where they really interact. The one where he fucks with her figures and the one where she tries to take away his lobsters which are both scenes when futaba joins and then they never interact again.
I think the best part of p5 was this random scene you could miss.
Its actually funny and the characters are playing off each other in a fun way. The game needed way more stuff like this or to triple down on waifu dating, filling it with events for whatever girl you're dating.
