What job? Is typing speed the only skill needed? I'm looking for something that may be less physically intensive in my old age. How does one get these mythical "office jobs" that sounds amazing not having to deal with the general public or lifting heavy imbalanced objects.
I've put people on probation for "Possibly embellished resume" due to claiming multiple qualifications in computer use but are utterly incapable of typing without looking at the keyboard. Usually they get fired afterwards.
you work an office job mate, none of your skills are real or really matter outside of the bullshit fake work you do. You could at least be smart about it, instead of being the obedient little lap dog making your boss richer (but not yourself)
100% true. I work an office job and anything you do is pointless, none of it is a real skill except just moving the Technology™ forward for stupid people who think that the more """developed""" something is, the better they live.
That's why I do nothing most days.
Also Typing of the dead is quite fun.
Embellished resume does not matter. Lieing on an application matters and is illegal. I hope your employer gets sued and they anal revenge rape you for being a boot licker
Taking dictation during meetings, converting old documents to digital format (OCR is dogshit) for archival purposes, etcetera. Company is 50 years old and the owner was a fricking luddite so there's decades of data to work with. Union wont let us outsource, they have it in for the current owner for him trying to impose illegal policies and are more than capable of shutting the whole place down on a moment's notice.
Honestly this. Well I never played rs but I only got great at typing from playing games like wow and chatting with people. I doubt wow is even like that now with how communication is done with voice outside of the game.
Literally type better posts on Ganker, you're already here every day all day so you might as well get practice typing in as well. Type longer posts, use capitalization and punctuation, etc.
I don’t think a typing game will help you. Like another person suggested, you could start by putting more effort into your posts here. I think the best way to get better at typing would just be to start writing as much as you can in a word document. I’m frankly pretty surprised that anyone using this website is a slow typist.
That might be it. I was 9 when I first got to use the family computer and I came straight here and newgrounds any time I was able to. Which was only like an hour a day, maybe. I didn't get my first computer until I was 15, and by then it felt too late. I'm sure I could work on it, and I want to, it's just one of those things that you let pass you by, you know?
I think you misunderstand office jobs if you think typing speed matters.
It does, already saw how it is like
>bu-bu-bu-but
stfu. No recommendation? then stfu.

"I have a degree in administration" and "I type with two fingers and I have to look at the keyboard" are mutually exclusive.

You can't sue someone for firing you for being bad at your job.
What are they getting hired for that it matters?

OP's pic is Typing of the Dead. The game you are thinking is House of the Dead.

Literally just open Word and start typing.

>implying he isn’t afraid of using “Reddit-spacing” and looking like a total doofus on the most respectable website on the internet
Get with the times, gramps. I will literally never live it down if anyone catches me using line breaks.
This is bad.
But this right here? I might as well fricking kill myself if I format my posts like this.

I've been here for years and I have a woman's average "40 wpm". I also stare at the keyboard most of the time; I don't peck, at least.
Damn, that’s crazy. I type 90 wpm by touch, but I’ve also had a PC in the home my entire life.
