I have a GTX 1080 (it was a hand me down) but I heard the new RTX cards have DLSS and bunch of cool features.
I want to play Starfield, Cyberpunk and Jedi Survivor
Is it worth it to sell the 1080 and try to pick up an RTX card on the cheap?
Which budget RTX cards do you recommend?

None of those features are actually good. You're safe for now.

AMD is going to release a tool that does the same as DLSS, and will work with any directx 11 or 12 game, or so they say.

So don't bother upgrading. What you have is enough.

You'll die a virgin if you use any frame generating or AI upscaling technologies in your games. Nobody likes people who turn those options on.

More frames = more better, no matter the cost.

Starfield is limited by SSD speed. So if anything get a pci-e nvme ssd, sorry, meaningless acronyms.

Or install Fidelity Fx, but I couldn't find a video on that. Don't think frame generation is out for it yet.

not op but my ip range is blocked for some reason so i can't post this in the VR general
    should i buy this?
    >2060S
    >16GB RAM
    >2TB SSD
i've been playing alyx and fallout 4 on a 1050TI and 8GB RAM and i get like 20-30 fps at most. for fallout i had to turn the resolution down 50% just to get that much. my hard drive is pretty full too, so i'm thinking i should just get a new PC instead of replacing every part. but i hear a lot about fraud and scams on amazon and haven't made any big orders there, is this brand legit and will this be strong enough?

2060 super is already outdated by quite a bit. it's 2 generations old(the same gap as your card and the 2060 super). not worth it, it won't even outlive the current console generation.

Definately not. Try getting a second hand PC with a 3080 in it. I've seen some good deals on ebay. Fuck amazon.

that's a pretty terrible price for an old pc - the cpu is at least 8 years old. This is a better deal for $850

I can't vouch for its quality, but part selection is fine. Both cpu and gpu are decent current gen parts

Apologies. Yea, this PC is MUCH better not only is the 4060 over 45% faster than the crappy 2060 you also get 8GB of vram and DLSS 3. Also the i5 13th gen is over 200% faster than that crappy i7-4770.

I can vouch for this pre-built.

No one can play starfield, no one is currently playing starfield, the number you see are microsoft bought and paid for bots, the subreddit is filled with microsoft fanboys screeching that their shit SPACE game is good when in reality it garners nothing but contempt and is a dark reminder of how far gaming as a whole has fallen

Get a 4060ti or a 4070(sweetspot price/performance), there's a lot of features in those new card that the old 1080 doesn't have, don't listen to the coping poorfags in here, if you have the money just upgrade to one of the aforementioned cards and sell the 1080. Since I'm an AMD fanboy I'm gonna pick up pic related this week.

That's a POS only around 3x better than a 1080. OP is fine. Stop being stupid.

Nah it's up to 4x in some cases, he should defo upgrade, plus it has DLSS 3.0, good ray-tracing and some other nice features.

Maybe in benchmarks. Real life performance is a decent jump in fps in games that are badly optimized so you can watch a screentearing slideshow on your newest chud game, WITH REAL TIME SHADOWS.

3x was being too generous. It's 2.3x better.

Hey bros, should I get the 3060 or the 4060?
They cost basically the same, but the 3060 has 12gb of wham, which I can use to generate more porn images with stable diffusion, but the 4060 has only 8gb but it works better for games and has rtx remix. Which should I pick up?

Majority of games(Yes, even AAA slop) doesn't use more than 11GB of VRAM at 4K btw.
      >b-but my 4080/7900XT/XTX says it uses 20+GB
That's "allocated" not currently in use. 3080, 3080 Ti, hell even the 3070s are "capable" 4K cards. Not at ultra, of course.

4070 ti is the best card you can buy for a good price, if you want nvidia. But to be honest, unless you are a ray tracing fag, you rather get an AMD card for half the price and negligibly less performance.

just do it like me and trade your 1050 Ti to suckers up to having a 3060 lol
