I....I can't get past the second boss on the bridge.

I....I can't get past the second boss on the bridge. It's been 5 hours and I've even died to the fricking skeles a few times trying to get to him. Put me in counter strike, cod, battlefield and I will be top of the board. What the frick is going on

nono you did it wrong. first you enter the arena and kill the skeles. then you walk through the bridge till the boss spawns, and then you run back and get up the ladder as fast as you can. plunging attack.

NOW don't get back on the ladder. RUN to the other end of the bridge, dodging attacks when necessary. when the big fricker gets most of the way across the bridge, dodge an attack and roll past him. RUN back to the ladder, climb up it, plunging attack. you have to bait him back and forth on the bridge for it to work.

Those aren't skeletons, those are hollows. Skeletons would be weak to blunt damage.

I always have trouble in undead burg for a while whenever I start a NG. I swear souls games start hard and get easier over time.

stop seeking guidance, sit down and play the game, don't look at guides

this. DS1 is not that hard. You're just used to playing on autopilot because most games are mad easy. Use your brain, pay attention to patterns, consider risk/reward, etc.

Me too. Mostly because I was told about the plunging attack. Doesn't mean others will have the same luck, momentum or skill.

Just take it slow. Think about what's going on. Try again with a clear head.
Something you'll notice (particular in DS1) is that you are far more nimble than literally every enemy & boss. Bait the Taurus Demon in to attacking some distance away, then use the extra time to get up the ladder if you want to cheese him with plunging attacks.

He's not too hard, just keep at it. IN all fairness though, Tauros Demons hammer has some wacky ass hitboxes sometimes

It's not the hammer, it's just every single attack in DS1 having lingering hitboxes

I wish I had a person who played souls games and were new and needed help. I want to help someone get through the whole game and then we can play through them all because they are my favorite games
I have 800 hours on ER now

I see you are another example why Sekiro didn't really resonate as much as everything else
It's your less played Souls game

most people who aren't reddit ring newcomers to the genre loved sekiro. it just doesn't have as much replayability as souls games because there's no build variety

Not that poster, but I've also 100%ed all of From's games and absolutely love Sekiro, but there isn't as much replayability compared to DS/ER. There are the boss gauntlets and you can do self-imposed challenges like any game, but DS/ER are RPGs so naturally they're more geared towards multiple playthroughs. Sekiro always get an annual playthrough from me, though.

That makes sense. I haven't played it yet, so I was just guessing. I wonder if From/Miyazaki have any interest in revisiting Sekiro or something like it ever again. Not being friendly of replayability probably affect sales more than they can get away with when dealing with Kadokawa.

As someone who put 100s of hours into the Souls games before picking up Sekiro, it's brutal to learn. But like everyone says, once the combat clicks for you it becomes incredibly satisfying. There have been very few games that I've played in adulthood that made me go "wow", but this is one of them. I'd certainly play another game in the series, but honestly the game stands on its own just fine and I wouldn't mind if they just leave it alone.

He's one of the very few bosses where you can simply wait for his attacks to finish and then run up for a hit, rinse and repeat.
