    Not really.
    >or should I play project sekai?
    Definitely not.

    Emulate Diva F.

      Only if you hate yourself.

      Do NOT play Sekai.

The steam gameis definitely a great entry point. It has pretty much everything from every DIVA game, the best gameplay in the series, and mod support for custom charts.

      Why the Sekai hate?

Besides having an axe to grind for killing Project Diva? The gameplay is just not very good.

Because it killed DIVA, isn't even about Miku, spawned one of the worst and most cancerous fanbases known to man, shoves obnoxious characters in your face, is extremely stingy, censored Rin's tummy, and worst of all - isn't fun or interesting to play.

Fair points. Especially the one about fanbase. Like holy frick, I've never meet a fanbase THIS obnoxious (and I've seen what Danganronpa fanbase is capable of before that).
          >shoves obnoxious characters in your face
Eh, not really, you can just ignore their existence most of the time if you want to.
          >and worst of all - isn't fun or interesting to play
Can't really agree with this one, I have fun playing it (in terms of rhythm game) though I just focus on gameplay with videos and effects disabled.

the english speaking fanbase of it is mostly western kids on internet (like actually underaged morons). Extremely annoying, immature, prone to fighting over shipping, acting prude and making aggressive assumption against contents and fanworks being "racist" or "sexualizing"Imagine western genshin fanbase but with more mad children
If someone likes Prsk, then it's better for them not to touch the mainstream western fanbase

Imagine of literally worst kind of twittertards (actually underage, virtual signaling almost 24/7, extremely brainwashed by LGBTQ bullshit and ready to kill someone irl over their favorite ships).
If you want any example - the whole damn event got cancelled on global version, because those morons were crying about cards featuring 'Cultural Appropriation' or some shit (picrel is one of the related cards).

Project diva on steam is good but denuvo causes rare stutters from time to time which throw you off especially on hard and above. But with high fps mod it's one of the most pleasant experiences, or at least much better than it was on a ps4 with a 60hz telly.

Sega is a bunch of morons, what did you expect? It didn't make sense when it was new 3 years ago either because the arcade rip was already playable for years and there's also the switch version to emulate

          Anonymous

Isn't the switch game.missing a bunch of songs? Is it easier to mod them back in on switch emulators than to mod the pc game to perform adequately?

They were all added back in as DLC. It was just Sega being turbo israelites and trying to squeeze out the last few shekels they could out of a port of a decade old arcade game

I'd say try the arcade PC port before buying mega-mix.

Original Project DIVA on original PSP or die.
Can't be emulated because of horrible input lag. Newer versions are missing a massive amount of community feeling (what zoomers would call "soul" now). The PVs are impressive for the PSP's hardware but fall flat on more modern machines.

If you absolutely cannot get a functional PSP, Project DIVA F on PS3 is the second best option. Arcade/Future Tone have the most songs, but the notecharts are designed for a beatmania style control table, not a controller pad.

        no thanks
It does load quicker though. But that means less time to look st the community art during the load screen.

      >but the notecharts are designed for a beatmania style control table, not a controller pad.
They're doable on controller, not the most fun though. I assume it's fine on computer with a keyboard?

Awkward when you need to hit the middle two with one hand or just the opposing side's button, terrible for mashing, good for developing RSI. Works up to mid-Extremes or so, wouldn't recommend it past that.

I spent the bulk of my time playing on PS4 and did fine. I have enormous gorilla hands though so it's easier to hit a bunch of buttons at once.

It's playable, that's not my point though. The arcade port loses some of the flow.

OG note charts would utilise sequences that made sense on the pad layout, like getting your thumb to move in circles by going triangle, circle, cross and square. Then going back. Also, note mirroring, of using triangle cross or square circle, to indicate large changes in the spacings of beats. These allow you to somewhat predict what comes next in a note chart on higher difficulties, and assist in getting into the flow.

The arcade port can only go from left to right and back again, losing some naunce. It also gets hyper fixated on chord usage, again not for playability but because a song like saihate has no relation to having so many chords in it for being such a simple song (for example).

Not a deal breaker and if the thing you care about is looking at a little miku dancing on screen you're probably not affected by it. But it's an objectively inferior way to experience the gameplay.

Have you ever actually drank vegetable juice?
Mixed vegetable juices are usually pretty nasty, too many clashing flavors.
I do enjoy carrot juice myself.

If you don't want to bother with setting up the arcade version for PC, the one on Steam is a good jumping in point. Don't listen to random anons telling you to emulate this version or that version, just get the steam/arcade one and decide if you want to go further back in the series or not.

It's not a bad entry point!
But personally I think Diva F/F2nd or Mirai DX are a bit better entries. More condensed setlists and some actual side stuff to do.

I don't understand. Is the hate for future tone/mega mix. Is it because the charts are formatted for the arcade layout and not a gamepad?

  24. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

Both are good. I think Mega mix on steam is great. I would recommend it.

The mobile game is pretty great, but it's a gatcha. It's music selection is pretty great, but it also gets up it's ass about it's story mode some times. World Dai Star on mobile is just kind of a better version of the same thing, but both are only really worth playing if you have access to the JP google play store.
