I just hope you didn't buy an AMD gpu. AMD might just shutter their gpu business because of pathetic sales.

Poor AMD pajeets will end up with bricks with no driver support.

As a consumer I hope people buy other than nvidia GPUs to keep competition up.

But will you buy something other than Nvidia?

Depends on price/performance, I'm rolling amd cpu + nvidia gpu atm

ATI/AMD has fricked up too many times and they're too prideful to admit it. RDNA 2 sold well once prices matched consumer expectations. It should have been a lesson for AMD but instead they went right back and tried to sell an undercooked Radeon card for $999.

You could have just said "no".

They should be marketing their lower-mid end GPUs way, way more. Relying on console sales is a fricking mistake this late into a generation. Lots of poor people around the world that can't afford Nvidia's overpriced GPUs that would be more than happy to buy your cheaper stuff.

lol no. corpos will never team up with Nvidia ever again and intel is still struggling on their gpus.
amd will still have radeon because they are the only competent gpu maker who will listen to them

Not me though, I actually switched from Nvidia to AMD because AMD cards eventually get big price drops after they get stuck on shelves at their ridiculous MSRP.

The RX480/580 was the best budget GPU ever made. What the frick happened?

It evaporated from shelves quickly due to cryptoBlack folk and later experienced a second life cycle in the used market.

It was massively outsold by the 1060 so AMD recognized that even if they have an objectively superior product no one will bother.

The 480 wasn't objectively superior thoughever. The 1060 was faster on release, more easily available, and specifically performed better on old games while AMD did their brainlet "muh fine wine" marketing as if people will buy a graphics card based on promises rather than the current situation. The 480 also didn't end up being as cheap as advertised and while the 1060 had a higher MSRP it was pretty easy to find dirt cheap board partner models. My Galax 1060 was cheaper than any 480 I could get.

I can sort of agree with the 480 but the 580 was objectively superior. Polaris wasn't crippled by DX11 to the same extent as the early GCN cards.

homie it was a 5% better refresh that came out a year later, too little too late. You also didn't have long to grab it before mininggays cleared up stok.

Issue is, at least here, they charged a fat premium for 6gb so you ended up getting a 580 significantly cheaper, negating the reason to get 1060 6gb

Not only are you poor you're also fricking moronic. I'd gladly pay more not to use AMD drivers and especially FSR. It's fricking disgustingly bad compared to DLSS

I'd gladly pay more to not have to deal with Nvidia drivers, but I don't have to because and is cheaper anyway

Not him but I switched from Nvidia to AMD last year, only game that gave me AMD-specific issues is Counter Strike. This is worse than with Nvidia because I never had any driver issues with them, but it's also just one single game.

They reduced VRAM from 12 to 8 from the 3060 to the 4060 so they should just go ahead and make the 5060 4gb only, no need for VRAM, just upscale everything with DLSS from 144p!
