I just started playing this game again after a few years and I’m already convinced it’s one of the greatest titles for the PS1. It’s better than half of the shovelware for the N64 and it blows my mind that Japan got this and USA didn’t.

N64 didn't have a lot of shovelware, most games are great or experimental, I'd say PS1 had more shovelware, but it's a smaller number compared to the 8bit generation
N64 didn't have much games at all. Only big libraries get a lot of shovelware: NES, GB, PS, PS2, DS,... Only exception is the Wii with a lot of shovelware and a shit library too.
If this game came out for the 64 childhood me would have been happy. I guess I just don’t like much Zelda/Mario titles, or racing games. Probably why I consider the N64 to have shovelware lol

Resident evil didn’t start getting good until the GameCube era, silent hill was the better horror of the ps1 era.
Hellnight is a legitimate hidden gem if you like horror games.
