I love these like you wouldn't believe. What are your opinions on the ribbons/mark system introduced in Sword and Shield and how would you improve/modify it?
Have any cool title/species combos to share?

Marks were a cool addition especially with how your Pokémon can gain marks after completing something or having them with you after some time

      literally the same as ribbons

I really wish they expanded upon this type of mark. The massive amount of personality marks prove that they could add in a ton more in addition to ribbons at this point.
Since it seems like they do not care at all about movesets anymore, it's time to retire the origin mark and move it/copy it here. Basically just have a mark while grants the title 'the [region] Native' if a Pokemon was obtained in it. I'm not sure if there is any other way to have additional criteria to get this mark but maybe they avoid this since that means every Pokemon can get at least one mark easily or will inherently have it. Additionally, there should be more marks for completing region specific tasks. I have been saying this since gen 8 but they should have a ribbon/mark for completing X amounts of raids with one Pokemon. They realized this in gen 9 and had specific marks added in, it seems.
Others additions I would recommend are de-compressing the two legacy Battle Tower/Contest ribbons. They keep track of which ones you have obtained, so expanding them again is theoretically possible. Also, not sure if the Shiny Leaf status is tracked through gens, but they should have given a mark/ribbon for that as well if it is.
The encounter specific marks (curry, fishing and alpha Pokemon) should have had an analog in Scarlet and Violet but there are no special ways to actually encounter Pokemon outside of wild encounters or raids.
Lastly, the 'memories' part of a Pokemon's data could easily fit into giving marks where if a Pokemon has a specific significant memory outside of your own OT (to incentivize trading/transferring more), it could get a mark. In Scarlet and Violet, the memories mechanics was just randomly removed despite the data still existing for it.

What's the best game to get almost every ribbon?

Hate that daily thing in Sinnoh

Are those one time use? As in if I get my Pokémon the ribbon on Wednesday no other Pokémon can get the Wednesday ribbon?

I’m of the impression that HG/SS’s insane aftermarket price is at least somewhat influenced by the legend ribbon’s exclusivity

Since you face Red in the World Tournament and Battle Tree they should have brought that ribbon back. No one likes this but it’s true.

You can get the Wednesday ribbon once every Wednesday. It just have to be done daily for a week to get the whole set.

Not a problem in ORAS since those are given to your entire party.

Well, a single game having 'almost every ribbon' will simply bring you to 'the most', being the Daily set, Contest Master set and Gorgeous Royal set, along with standards like Best Friend, Footprint and Effort; with the pretense of a single set of games, this leaves you with two options.
BDSP has its own Twinkling Star ribbon for its contests after you get the rest (plus associate Contest Star ribbon), as well as SwSh's Tower Master Ribbon if you're willing to put up with a high likelyhood of being one mon short strengthwise, but I'd say for only ONE game your best bet is ORAS since it also has its two Maison ribbons and the Training ribbon, plus no Sheen for Contest stats makes getting to Master Rank contests a moron's dream if you know what you're doing (and then transferring to Alola where you have the two Tree ribbons and the Royal Master ribbon, should you get into it).
This all ignores the regional league ribbons in almost every game.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I remember reading that ORAS awards the entire party any Daily or Gorgeous/Royal you acquire instead of just the lead like the Sinnoh games, plus the latter set is easier due to Gen VI's insane grinding capabilities and not having a wallet limited to 6 digits where the titular ribbon costs exactly that for just one.
So yeah, get ORAS, it's not even a contest.

          >Gorgeous/Royal you acquire instead of just the lead
Pretty sure it only applies to the lead mon in ORAS, as well, but everything else is true. BDSP made the daily and gorgeous/royal grinds significantly worse than in ORAS.

So beating all leagues in almost every game
        >Kanto or Hoenn in 3rd Gen
        >Sinnoh in Platinum
        >Beating Red in SS/HG
        >Kalos in X/Y
        >Hoenn for every other ribbon
        >Alola in USUM

frick Unova for not getting ribbons

        >it's not even a contest
        That's what I say about BDSP's Contests.

These vids goes over every ribbon and cover other games you can get them in, day of the week ribbons would be easiest in omega ruby and sapphire cause you can date skip and get 6 at a time.

afaik marks were immediately abandoned whereas ribbons still carry over between gens so i don't care even slightly about marks, especially since half of them are inborn

Don't SwSh marks carry over to SV?

in the sense that they're still in the code and if you transfer back to SWSH they'll still be there, yes. Otherwise the marks don't show up at all from what i've seen

Literally couldn't be more incorrect, there's even a whole mechanic for making marks easier to find in SV, plus a new wild mark for your birthday.

but if you catch a personality marked Pokemon in gen 8 it transfers just fine to gen 9. This is why you can still get Catch of the Day/the Curry mark on Pokemon in gen 9

This. There are barely any ways to run your bros outside of pvp, and as much as it makes sense to show off your rare marks / titles there, everyone assumes you genned the mon in automatically kek.

    >Have any cool title/species combos to share?
Sort of. I have the following with the Tower Master ribbon: Hariyama; Granbull; Ariados; Magcargo; Golem; Muk. Got sent back to rank 9 while running Forretress due to a bad matchup + bad luck when faced with a hyper-aggressive rain team. I’ll get back on that grind eventually.

Ribbons are a lot of fun, but it is a bit of a mixed bag. I love facilities. ORAS had good ribbon grinding, in general, but I was bummed when Gen 7 had a smaller offering (and Gen 8 got even worse). BDSP is mostly a less fun ORAS for ribbon grinds. The concept of marks in SV is interesting, but unfortunately, the grind is pretty dull (eat food until you get lucky; walk until you get lucky; pick shit up until you get lucky).

For shitters ITT, you can timeskip in both gen 4 and 6 by setting your time to 23:59 and waiting a minute to get the weekly ribbons quickly. Also works for the friendship npcs in platinum to grind friendship faster if your Pokémon is already high level so getting it in oras would be difficult
