>disjointed nu-Rockstar story that felt like it was written by 10 people >"""revolutionary""" motion capture gimmick that has already aged terribly and looks downright goofy >worse vehicle handling than GTA 4 and even 5 >boring and tedious cover shooter sequences >boring, tedious and repetitive foot chases >clue system that is neither complex nor challenging
I remember finishing the game on a weekend and being like "what the frick was even that?" and then never going back to it.
I remember thinking that I would have to look for subtle clues and contradictions during the interrogation sequences but all you had to do is look at how much their eyes are comically shifting
>>"""revolutionary""" motion capture gimmick that has already aged terribly and looks downright goofy
I guess there's a contrarian for everything I guess.
>90s LA
Would be too much Bloodz and Crips gang violence, kind of a sensitive topic in today's political climate. Also LA riots and rooftop koreans which would be kino.
>start playing this game >i know through obvious clues they're giving me what happened in the case >try to accuse the guy >I can't because I didn't "Gather enough clues" yet >have to walk him through conversation trees until he says the wrong thing
the concept just didn't work and can't work within the next 10 or so years. needs text to speech, variability, shit like that.
combat sections were bad and ruined the game further. shouldn't be in the game
I have absolutely nothing to play and have had this lying around for years and have been debating playing it for the last week. How long does it take to "get in to" so to speak
I like my memories of playing the game more than I do the actual game. The core mechanic just isn't interesting enough and it's aged horribly now.
The OST is still perfect however. Same with Mafia 3.
I like the setting a lot

Filtered. Absolute kino game. Way better than Red Dead 2 and GTAV. Very glad it came to switch cus mt PC copy crashes.
>you got filtered because... YOU JUST DID, OKAY??
pathetic

dont forget the snoozefest of cutscenes
These are unironically more effective than any sleeping pills
I promise you this anons
This. I lower the volume, find a vid that does box fan noises and sleep so good. I love this game.
>fall asleep still finish the interrogation
Kek and people mock actual walking simulators.
wait a moment, over 15 hours of cut scenes, is this true?
These are all true but there's nothing else remotely like it so I still enjoy it

He's not wrong
some characters look good and some goofy. honestly I think it depends on the skill of the actor
needs a sequel based in late 1960s los angeles
>70s New York
>80s miami
90s LA
holy kino

Great game, but very flawed. One of my faves.
Shame it will never get a sequel
meet the new protagonist!
To be fair "sassy black policewoman" is a common trope in a lot of police procedurals
VR is pretty fun but the controls are janky. It takes a while to get used to is it but its worth it on sale.
I didn't like Jack Kelso and I much more preferred Phelps over him.
And frick Roy.
I liked playing as a heavily flawed character like Cole. As much as Kelso would have been the easier choice it probably would have been a dull story.
We really need another Police Quest game.
Who wins?
for me its
ƎЯIOIOIRE
LAMAJ has two guns, but ƎЯIOIOIRE looks fricking bulletproof
>dex vs str
kino
was obsessed with this game back when it came out. can't believe it made being in LA enjoyable

You frick young boys, OP?
I have absolutely nothing to play and have had this lying around for years and have been debating playing it for the last week. How long does it take to "get in to" so to speak
Game has 2 tutorial cases. First one is barbones. But the second one is more representative of what the game will be like. It's pretty memetic too
you cant get into it, its an absurd fever dream of npc faces hovering uncannily
Phelps, badge 1247.
How can I help, Detective?
I'm replaying it in black and white. playing in color just feels wrong now that I'm used to it. Give it a go, friends
>Phelps. Bekowsky. LAPD. Would you happen to know anything about the off-topic /misc/ thread that was posted last night?
Rusty is my favorite partner.
rusty is everyone's favorite partner. women love him
I've restarted this like 3 separate times and always quit around the last desk appointment
We made it.
>i love this game so much
Bullshit you haven't thought about L.A. Noire in years until Youtube recommended that one guy's recent video about the game.
