A bit of an oxymoron yeah, To be more transparent I would say I miss feeling excited to play games and since I don't feel excited the motivation wanes.

video games aren't really a hoby

Video games are entertainment, not a hobby.

Hobbies generally involve a skill, that often, results in something being created or at least is useful to yourself or others. Think about playing the piano, it's a skill you get good at, that produces lovely sound. Woodworking is a skill you need to learn, which results in a physical object you can use.

Video games are essentially, children's toys. They are a passtime, obviously named, because they are supposed to be used when you have nothing else to do, to pass the time. When you're tired, or simply want to relax or escape the real world. They were never supposed to be something you took seriously. It's like watching an adult man try and be a professional yo-yoer. It's sad.

piano is literally like vidya - you learn to input the right keys, in the right order, at the right timing, to get the desired outcome

They absolutely do not. Not even close to the actual definition which is simply "an activity that someone does for pleasure when they're not working."

Here's a free tip on how to fix your broken brain.

Your brain has been friend by constant access to entertainment. You have essentially given yourself ADD. I guarantee if you do this one simple thing, you will CRAVE something fun to do.

For one month, throw away your phone and disconnect from the internet completely, do not touch an electronic device.

That's it. That's all there is to it. Do not touch any kind of technological device or communication device for one month. You will become instantly aware how much time you waste on the internet. You will have so much time with no distractions. Keep this up for a month, your brain will reset and you will do absolutely anything for entertainment.

I know you won't do this though, because you're most likely a porn addicted NEET who can't do anything with any kind of conviction. It's sad to see.

imho, there are even simper ways to fix your shit
just cutting all the bullshit is enough: not having fun? drop the game instantly
"searching" for entertainment and not actually engaging with it? just stop that and go for your backlog
and that's just basic b***h minimal effort approach, disconnecting and any sort of routine change is a step above in effectiveness
