>It is so bad, that any sort of cool guide for Deus Ex is pushed off, for "Have you got a single fact" meme and the soi food item.
On a lot of the older games it makes the guide system basically unusable.
It’s amazing how le funny memesters ruin everything they touch. They also made the curator feature insanely annoying (granted, it was always gonna be pretty useless) because it kept showing only stale meme curstor posts on your store front page whether you wanted it or not. So, better enjoy those dumb Commander Shepard or Nep Nep shitposts every time you browse there.
At least they added an ignore/hide option for thst, but too bad that nothing will clean away the meme ”guides” as easily.
I came across someone posting the same copy pasted review full of mawkish shit. "I am 38 and play this with my son, he played lots and I bought this so we can play together!"
Can you sell the point store backgrounds and shit on the marketplace? Is that why hes trying to farm awards? I mean look at this shit :
I've seen a guy farm awards with "I have terminate stage cancer and been spending my last days playing this game". He would just copypaste this review for dozens of games, for lots of points.
I've no idea why Valve decided to make things so much worse.
Oh, and that's now how you make real money from awards. You sell your points for TF2 keys, e.g. they gift you 10 keys, and you give them 50 awards etc.
The extraneous shit on Steam has always been terrible but almost everything thats been added has made everything worse. With no option to just turn it all off, make it all go away. Every single Discussion Forum is the same shit asking why the game is not translated into every single last language on the planet. Russian and Chinese everywhere even though you have your Steam set to English only. Do you want a Badge? Can I interest you in a Sticker?
the two problems are that there isn't a "funny" option for guides like reviews have, and that people mark reviews as helpful instead of funny anyway because they're moronic
i remember when zoomers, newbies, and troons didnt plague steam
No, they've always overrun it. Steam is just enabling them with internet awards now.
I'm guilty of making one of these in 2015 because I thought I was funny.
Its okay, you realized your wrong and grew past it
what are steam point awards?
>I share a board with motherfrickers this clueless
Ah yeah, that shit's pretty cringe and moronic.
>Here's your reddit golderino, kind strangerino!

I just really fricking hate seeing those "Joke" guides, there were never funny, and frick those who make these.

>Ganker apparently hates Steam Awards
>Except when they can spam Jester everywhere
You homosexuals are enabling this shit. You realize that right
it literally was always like this
filter by popularity
This. I made a moronic joke guide for Dark Souls 2 long before steam awards existed.
At least you can admit youve always been a raging homosexual.

Funny how all that extra stuff started out as facebook for furries and weebs, but now it is just a mess. A complete mess of memes and spam.
>Steam Point Awards
The ability to rate reviews as funny was already destroying the usefulness of Steam reviews before this.
what kind of zoomer made this pic? steam guides have literally always been full of meme guides

If you click "top rated all time" it helps filter shit a bit. At least for a couple games. Or just shift tab and open gamefaqs.
>game is extremely polished and has shitloads of mechanics
>wiki stopped updating somewhere during early access
