It's hard to blame them for how they handled GG. Say what you want about the games and their varying quality, games are meant to be played at the end of the day and most GGfags weren't willing to do that. Plenty of Strive fans aren't either, but a lot more fans of Strive actually play than Xrd fans played Xrd when that was the main GG. You can't even really make it out to be a thing where they should have followed their passion with how they designed the game instead of just trying to appeal to people because if Daisuke just followed his interests alone the series would have kept on in the vein of GG2, going back to a fighting game for Xrd was already a move to please the audience. Xrd is still my favorite GG game, but I can't say I'm shocked at them re-working the series for Strive.

I have a reasonable claim to being the single worst Blazblue player of all time. Back in CT, there was this leaderboard and you could sort it by wins. If you did this, then it would show the player with the most wins. If you got to a point where players were tied for wins, then it would sort by losses. So e.g. if you had two players with 47 wins, the person with fewer losses would be ranked higher than the one with more losses.
Every single time I won a game, I would go and check my place on the leaderboard. And every single time I did this, I would be the lowest ranked player for my number of wins. So e.g., when I had 5 wins, there'd be a bunch of people above me with 5 wins, but the person immediately below me was somebody with 4 wins and 0 losses.

In terms of shoto design I think he's amazing and fun to play. He has a short dash for better spacing and feints, and he can do a fireball out of it. In other games trying to dash and do a fireball can sometimes make a DP come out, so they make his DP a down down input in irder to keep the same idea present while making it flawless to execute either inputs. His tatsu provides his overhead and is still a travel option, has alternative endings depending on what button you hold, he can continue OTGs if you master the dash mechanic and all of his moves are useful in some fashion. He is genuinely my favorite shoto character ever.

The levels are huge and somewhat barren, but they have NPCs here and there, small side missions and other stuff. You're meant to play it 3 times total to get the true ending, and it's likely you'll miss one route if you don't explore
I will play whatever Mori is cooking up but ArcSys will never see another penny from me for one of their own titles. Strive was the final nail and Sols story is truly over. Whatever they got in mind for Blazblue can only be awful as well.

You have SOME aerial mobility and fishing for air counterhits gives you ample time to just land and then convert off of the untech time. Offense-wise I think MBTL is utterly boring as fuck because semi-optimal combos are incredibly easy to do and everyone can do them so it feels bland as hell, plus the hard damage proration cap basically have most characters doing the same amount of damage. The game just gives you meter like candy so ending every combo with meter for guaranteed hard knockdown is incredibly commonplace. Defense wise I think playing MBTL for a couple months gave me worse habits in other fighting games because frame 1 shield and backdash options are so strong, please Heat heals recoverable health and is incredibly easy to just use on guard cancel so imagine if you could ODR every time you have one bar of meter.

I would normally suggest TFH, it shares a lot of DNA with Blazblue, but unfortunately it's in kind of a rough state and the devs are seeming less and less competent as time goes on. Apparently there's a big balance patch coming out "soon," if it looks like maybe they're turning things around after that it could be a great choice, it really is a very good game at its core, but probably better to wait and see because if things continue the way they have been for the last year or two it's going to die a sad, pathetic and totally avoidable death.

She either has to be close enough for 6A to hit or confirm a crouching hit to get a combo for more than 1.5k damage and her drive starters rely on making reads. She has no oki midscreen and the best she gets in the corner is 5C buffered into 236C to catch rolls. Her 6A is also garbage.

I think the game's story ended near perfectly (I know it's giga autismo to care about FG lore but BB really is awesome). CF has rollback and you can get games easily anytime. If anything I think a new BB game would have a higher chance of fucking up and ruining what i is a well done and simply finished series.

i don't mind waifufagging and all that shit but if someone's sitting here wondering why there isn't a new game in the series while never playing it and especially if you're some dubfag who skipped cf because of the lack of dubs, then i do feel like there's a need to be uppity at something like that
it's a real damn shame the CF dub mod only works if both players have it iirc, otherwise you'll desync but i could be wrong about that.
it at least had one lobby so that makes it somewhat successful
even if not all 97 posters in it actually played when it was mainly 7 or 8 players
