First game was good enough for people to anticipate the sequel, but I think it was lightning in the bottle, they don't know why it was good and they can't figure out how to do it again. As long as they keep delaying, they can keep being the studio that made that really good game, but if they release it and it sucks, they'll just be another shit house.
Are you basing this off literally anything other than ithe fact t's taking a while, a game made by 3 (THREE) autismos with infinite money is taking a while?
>other than the fact its taking a while
That's enough. There's no reason for it to take this long unless its in dev hell and not going to be good. Games that take this long never work out.
Wow anon, you sound like you know game development very well, and are definitely not a retard.
It's been in development for what, 4-5 years? The first Hollow Knight was in development for around 4 years, and the only reason they released the game was because they ran out of money. If they had infinite money like they do now, it's easy to imagine Hollow Knight not coming out till 2018 or 19.
These retarded australians just have too many ideas. People that know them say that during meetings to talk about the current state of the game, the devs just spend the whole meeting talking about boss ideas, area ideas, and they just have tones and tones of ideas.
TC have always been against the idea that you need to drop quantity for quality, and for Silksong they seem to just be pushing that to the extreme.
I'm down for it. Give me the most retardedly huge metroidvania.
>the only reason they released the game
In other words they were forced to succeed, can't understand the nature of their success, can't replicate it, and will keep the game in develop until they are again "forced" to release something that has been in development hell for years

they just want to make a fun video game, it's not that serious

Its serious enough that they've delayed it for years with no end in sight. "Make a fun video game" is turning out to be very difficult for them, maybe impossible.

why wouldn't a hollow knight 1.5 work out? sounds great to me.

They obviously can't figure out what to do with it well enough to release on time.

no it's not
I've seen it happen dozens of times in games and general software
when you don't keep the basement dwellers from adding shit beyond what's reasonable they just keep thinking every feature request is required instead of optional

You are really desperate to hold onto this little headcannon of yours, aren't you?
I've also been in development for 10 years
nothing that takes this long will be good
it reeks of typical scope creep and mismanagement because code monkeys don't know how to calm the fuck down and fix what they built rather than circlejerk about what if functionality that doesn't do anything
those three need a PM to slap them around and remind them of deadlines so they stop fucking around and actually finish shit

>I've also been in development for 10 years
Let me know when you ship something half as successful as Hollow Knight
If they have infinite money, why they didn't expand their "studios" and made the game in less time?
And also why it just looks like a reskin of the first game without improvement whatsoever?
Well you can obviously put two and two together and figure why they haven't "expanded". They clearly seem like the types to fear that their vision would get lost if they did that, they're those kinds of autistics. And honestly they probably work more efficiently as a 2-3 man group rather than trying to explain their ideas to a huge team of people.
They've talked about how they can get a basic enemy animated and programmed into the game in the span of a couple hours. That kind of efficiency doesn't really exist in a larger studio, strangely enough.
More complex enemies like a boss tend to take them around a week.
Ehat the actual fuck are you talking about holy shit this is the most retarded take I've ever read.
>And honestly they probably work more efficiently as a 2-3 man group rather than trying to explain their ideas to a huge team of people.
This is a retarded excuse for not expanding and invest and just have more money for themselves.
>They've talked about how they can get a basic enemy animated and programmed into the game in the span of a couple hours. That kind of efficiency doesn't really exist in a larger studio, strangely enough.
Every big studios do these things in no time and with million times more quality than what they can accomplish in their entire lifetime.
Please have a nice day.
I think they could just create another hollow knight with a new map and most people would be satisfied. They probably wanted to 1up the first game and started playing around with a bunch of shit that was unecessary. It's hard to improve a lot upon a game that was so solid to begin with.
There's a lot to improve on in Hollow Knight imo. I really liked it and it was solid, but it was also really simple. The ways they were expanding it in the trailers I saw all looked really good. Honestly I'd be willing to say Silksong is just automatically be better than Hollow Knight. It's got everything that made that first game good, and just a bunch more shit stapled on. Maybe not all of it will appeal to everyone, but there seems to be so much of it that at least some of it will appeal to most people.
I found it to be huge improvement gameplay wise and the devs made it in 2 years of development time. Silksong will probably be a bloated mess and release after 10 years of development time
I don't get why people rave about HK so much. I played through it and thought it was good, but nothing crazy. I honestly enjoyed Blasphemous and even Bloodstained more.
People here love to pretend to like any game that develops a reputation (earned or not) for being hard because they think it makes them pro gamer streamers like their idols. Same happens to Fromsoft games.
First game was shit yet they had the gall to release it

even from little we've seen there's a ton of improvement to the platforming

You hollowfag really act like retarded brainwashed sheeps.

bro it's literally the same game you're retarded
Obviously not.
you're fucking delusional it's obviously a very good game unless they force you to play around abilities too hard
I think they could just create another hollow knight with a new map and most people would be satisfied. They probably wanted to 1up the first game and started playing around with a bunch of shit that was unecessary. It's hard to improve a lot upon a game that was so solid to begin with.

Your tongue will go numb
You will never be able to speak again
looks kino to me
at this rate Tevi will release before silksong
Rabi Ribi was significantly worse and more basic than Hollow Knight. I don't get the hype for Tevi here
did you play rabi-ribi on normal difficulty or what
It‘s not coming out bro move on
Gentle reminder:
Silksong announcement trailer
>14 February 2019
Blasphemous release date
>10 September 2019
Blasphemous II release date
>24 August 2023
Silksong release date
>TBA
And Blasphemous 2 is just Blasphemous 1 again, not all that ambitious. Doesn't need to be of course, but it's not really comparable.
I found it to be huge improvement gameplay wise and the devs made it in 2 years of development time. Silksong will probably be a bloated mess and release after 10 years of development time
don't pretend that blasphemous has the same depth and scope as hollow knight
I don't get why people rave about HK so much. I played through it and thought it was good, but nothing crazy. I honestly enjoyed Blasphemous and even Bloodstained more.

>I don't get why people rave about HK so much.
because it was one of those indie darlings at the time
>I think they can't release it because it sucks
Didn't stop them from releasing the first game
the one that was reviewed as a 10/10?
like my Marvel movies?!!
I guess is the part where you devolve into being a 4chins bot with the same old buzzwords and talking points
Do they really have that much money? HK sold that well?
it sold 2.8 million copies by 2019 and has only sold more since then, it's probably a very steady income stream for three guys to live off of
