I want to play a game that helps me recognise parallel lines and angles.
So it will present two lines and ask me whether they are parallel. It might be off by a few degrees
It asks me to line up two lines so they are parallel. 4 lines so they are parallel etc
shows angles and asks me to guess the number of degrees etc
Basically I want to get better at recognising angles and parallelism for work

you need to touch grass man
Bro why don't you just make it then?
No one asked for this blog post.
i'm a bloke who works with his hands, not a computer nerd mate
Well work with your hands and write some code, looser
Driver: Parallel Lines
but seriously that shouldn't be too difficult to code up a web app to do. Maybe hire someone from fiverr
arigatou gozaimashita
might see if the missus can do it. what kind of skills you need to make it?
You might be autistic
what the frick
how the frick do literal trogs like you get a wife/gf?
Basic html and JavaScript, you just need some buttons and a <canvas> element and whatever game loop logic you have in mind
dis gameplay sounds like fire fr no cap. where can i get me some o dem fine parallell lines?
Does your brain not intuitively assess these things already?
to be fair, "angle-guessing" sounds like something that can be learned... like some sort of useless skill I guess
Go play autocad op
This tbh, probably a very useful software for your work whatever it is too
do you ever think about how you just intuitively know what angle to aim your dick for it to pee at the correct angle so the urine goes around where you want it to land
yeah but sometimes it betrays you with weird flow rate or there's some dried cum on the peehole which makes you piss sideways or something
Based blue collar chad.
🙂
you're a smart bloke. get more money the straighter things are mate. i want high quality craftmanship in my labour
This might be a bait schizo thread, but there is in fact an entire series that's based on doing middle school level geometry, and that's Silent Hunter. Unironically you will be drawing lines and using a compass rose on a map to make 90 angles, and that's the heart of the game
are you a builder? download a cad program and make a house or something
What
Autocad....geometry homework...
Op are you training an a.i with this?
It's pretty fricking obscure but check this out.
OP you can also post your request on
Consider doing what this anon said and I might throw together a shitty godot thing for you.
made the request post
thanks for the advice
nah, there's the odd job when angles are measured, but it is very much the exception and non-standard
it's very easy to be out many more than 5º unfortunately. it's all quick action
https://woodgears.ca/eyeball/
This is kind of what you are looking for.
Yo I'm not the OP but I kind of looked for something like this, ty
tried out phaser.js and i got this in 30 minutes of work, maybe I can make it interactive in a bit and post an itch.io link
Any game with doors and roads, games whose locations are built with tiles.
What are you, a railway layer?
I don't see how playing around with parallel lines in profile view is going to help you bore a straight tunnel, but okay fair enough, I assume you have underground gps for that.
no GPS. you paint up the wall and put some paint on some rocks on the ground and do your best to drill straight (or angled), in parallel, fast
oh, also, if a game existed where the lines were in 3 dimensional space it would be even better (and have to make parallel across 3 dimensions), but i thought it more likely a little arcade game would exist than a 3d one
You NEED b***hes on your dick
This is the weirdest thread I've seen in a while. Unfortunately, I can't help but good luck, OP!
that's a pretty cool job Anon
I work as a machinist and getting shit straight is a daily task. My workpieces usually range between 600-3000mm and let me tell you, piece is 1 degree out of whack? Yeah nah you aint going to notice it with your eye.
Why not just get/make tools for quick measuring?
yeh, i won't notice 1º when i'm out in the field, but better to be 1º out than 2º so on and so forth
no tool that's used. it's all just be eye
cheers mate
I might be shit but anything under 5° just has me going "is that crooked? Nah.. maybe...?"
What about those kind of devices that are used on construction sites to get shit straight & distances right with lazers?
Ive seen autistic people make sure their shelves are just right with those lol.
Bitches dont know about my non-euclidean geometry.
good post
everything non-euclidean is a meme
also pi is not real and just a made up human phenomenon. humans thrived for thousands of years before “discovering” it
https://cerealwaterfork.itch.io/guess-the-angle
here you go, currently I limited it to maximum of 20 degree angle difference, will update it to allow for custom max angles tomorrow (if I can figure it out)
had a play and it's tough!
great start. thanks mate. it will keep my busy
is it possible to have an x, y, and z axis? not trying to seem greedy, just clueless as to how difficult that would be
Do you mean 3D lines?
I don't have any experience with using phaser.js for 3D yet. If I were to make such a game, it would probably be a python script with matplotlib (in which I have experience with)
I might hack something together tomorrow with matplotlib and simplepython gui if I have the time, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by including another axis. It's easy to compare the angle of 2 axes but not 3. Do you want to compare two 3D lines 3 times for each pair of axes?
Here's a quick and dirty proof of concept in 3d. I'm heading to bed soon, but I'll post any progress in the /wsr/ thread as I turn it into a program a human being might want to use over the weekend.

It's constantly saying I'm wrong even after guessing the correct number.
The top box is where you should put the answer. There is some layout issue I am fixing right now, give me a couple mins
Ok I pushed an update. The layout should be fixed, and I also added a counter to track how many you got right.
Also first time loading being long is expected, just wait it out if it happens
